I prefer the old Shredder, definately. But maybe that's just cos I saw him first?!

Even the new one, as an Utrom (though I prefer a perfectly human Shredder, I'll take the Utrom!!) was evil and... just... a mastermind. Plotting and all that. Not bumbling.

its the old toon. the episode I'm refering to is Michelangelo's Birthday Shredder kidnapps him and straps him down in this torture device that is filled with felsh disolving acid like goo, that was supposed to drip slowly onto his face and kill him. He escapes from it (rather easily really

) in any case a device like that is designed to give a pretty slow painful death. It would probably take about and hour to die completely, mean while your face and body is getting eaten away by acid. So yeah, Shredder was evil despite his high failure rate.

yeah probably, but old toon Shredder had more personality than New toon Shredder. New toon Shredder is so bad ass he is two deminicianal.

I always wanted to know more about Shredder and Splinter's past together when they where still apart of the foot clan.

What's up with all these people saying Oroku Saki is sexy? You've been hanging out with Irma too much. Not just Irma Langinstein- but a girl in my class named Irma who was and still is very boy crazy. I can imagine her already lusting over Zagato from MKR, who has an outfit that reminds me of Shredder's. But Zagato is cool. And hot. And my favorite MKR character.

Anyhow, back on topic...

I prefer having Shredder being human. Granted, Oroku Saki being an utrom can be somehow worked in if he was an Utrom who took human form. Not so fond of the exosuit. But Shredder in the OT was very much a comic relief villain. Who knows what he wanted after all? Many think that he was Krang's puppet.

Mirage Shredder is gone way too quickly, but I like his backstory.

I do like the original Oroku Saki from ancient Japan story of the NT as well. But I also like Oroku Sancho from the OT.

Overall, in conclusion, I prefer having a human Oroku Saki avenging his brother but lasting quite a while.

Well you got a point, but i wouldn't say he's real evil if he keeps some one/something to kill hes nemesis for him. If he was trully evil he would kill them himself with hes own hands, witch in several ecations he has had the chance to do but he didn't. So i would say the things he do is mean, so it's makes him a badass, but not evil.

Sage listed good reasons for the OT Shredder, but that just does make him mean, not evil, well maybe a little. Anyways, OT Shredhead whined too much for my taste.

But I do like 2k3 Shredder too. My ideal Shredder would be a combo of OT Shredder and 2k3 Shredder. I like OT Shredder's snarky manner and 2k3 Shredder's pure badassness. That together would be cool.

meh...I'm sure if the shows censors had let Shredder be a little more aggressive and fierce, that he fcould have been as actively evil as that. I get this from the episde "Get Shredder!" from the red sky arc of the series where he intentically blows up the channel six building. Truley a turning point in the OT

Yeah!.... As far as i know they made the show less violent after the first season because of angry phonecalls from parents

In a sense they are two extremes - OT Shredder became more or less megalomanic wrestler living on mercy of far more competent alien dictator who for some reason decided to not use his Rock soldiers more. The new one became kinda too "devilish" every once he got his Shredder armor and plus he is either alien or human/demon (G.I.Joe and Cobra-la *cough*) but I would still say the new one, since I like zealot character of Ch´rell and his acting as everyday Oroku Saki (and that´s ironically my main grip against Ch´rell since alien origin that dehumanised him). Also I was kinda disappointed that his personal history with Hamato Yoshi was gone.
