*rotflmao*@the expression on Raph's face... What's he doing?? A toothpaste commercial??? I'll buy it just cuz it's cuz a different expression on the face...it would be a er unique edition to my collection.

BTW... these look like the movie figures but they're not...that's just the standard model they're using from now on.

I like that they have different helmets tho. The expression on Mikey's face...he looks perverted...and his helmet looks like something out of Star Wars.

The designs of the aliens are just horrible.

Multifle looks like he could be related to Sh’Okanabo

....who says these are supposed to be from the movie?

As far as we know, THIS could be the next TMNT cartoon series.

ooooh Fast Forward didn't do well, so let's go with something EXACTLY LIKE IT.

The Brown Alien does look cool, though. But leave it to stupid ideas like this to kill the movie line as well.

They look like crap. WTF they made Raph look like an idiot. He musta seen a bug honkin roach or something. ugh...
this one looks funnier than the first run mystic raph's goofy expression.

these silly designs are turning me away from the toys...which takes alot for me to do. They look funny.

I kinda liked the older 2k3 toys....

Yeah those feet...the guys look like they got some infection, they need to wrap those & treat them!

Well from what I've gathered after seeing the mini mutants figures the new series will have the turtles looking like the movie and the rest of the characters will look like the 2K3 style. I guess we will see.

I don't like those heads, and the turtles necks look weird. Some of the aliens are cool though.

Ew, I thought we were gonna get more movie monsters, I'll be skipping all this.

While the movie line started out being fun to collect, I miss the fun of the original line along with the better distribution, Playmates has become a bore. They suck.

Listen. Playmates can do great stuff if they want to (the Ninja Heroes or Minimutants or whatever sound like promising ideas, even for a knockoff). Speculation concerning the new series aside, either way this is a terrible idea.

Now, I love Peter Laird and all, but how come 80's style random mutants are out, but random aliens that have nothing to do with nothing get approval? It's very depressing.

I do say, I don't hate the 2k3 toys. I love them. I hate the varients. Mainly because due to them, the real figures I wanted get shortpacked behind things I wouldn't dream of buying. I mean, the second wave of Varients for the movie showed we can have varients that use the old figures, but are still interresting. I have none of them yet, but I'd rather pick up Jungle Leo than regular Leo. And the Raph with the in scale Jersey Devil was great. i'd get regular Mikey and Don, but they had something going.

The movie line salvaged what the FF deluxe garbage torn down after the Paleo Patrol line tore the original assortment down. Now they're tearing it down again. The Auto Attack figures? They can be ignored. But these are just obnoxious, even if they're geared to kids. Not even they're going to want them.

That said, I do kinda like the aliens... but as something sepperate from TMNT. It's almost as if Playmates wants a new toy line entirely, but is too afraid of making a new product, so they just slapped TMNT on it.

Shame.... they could make a decent toy line with those aliens sepperately.

It's because if he doesn't create it or he doesnt think he does it wont be made it's like kevin eastman said Peter has to be in controll of everything which is fine and all because it's his property but I can't help but feel he's running it into the ground by making everything so bland.

Personally, I'd rather not see either random aliens or random mutants. I just want them to stick to the film. Maybe go out of the perameters a bit. Maybe make a Cowabunga Carl Mikey with a fake zipper on his torso, like in the film. Or a seperate Nightwatcher figure slightly different from the one that came with the cycle.

Well those 2 movie variants would have been the obvious choice for the line but seems the obvious choice isn't what people do anymore which boggles my mind.
And I can't lie the only figures I buy are the random mutants, aliens, and other characters on the show.
I will though be buying the mirage styled tmnt figures because that's what I've wanted all along.
I also would plop down money for figures that look like the cartoon characters from around the 1992 seasons.

I like the characters who were on the show and GOOD varients. Due to budget constraints I never did get the Mystic Warrior turtles. And the first line of TMNT movie varients worked well. Personally I think if they make the Cowabunga Carl and Nightwatcher different enough, there will be reason to buy BOTH the figures and the vehicles. Make the Nightwatcher's helmet unremovable or something. Have him come with some different accessories. Cowabunga Carl comes with bats and stuff. Maybe make a special "Birthday" edition of that figure or something.

I will not lie. I would buy those new aliens. I will admit, they look alright. Which is why I wish it were a seperate toy line from TMNT. The "Alien Hunter" TMNT don't even look good as far as rediculous/random varients go.

As for the comic line and a toon line, I guess that's all NECA. I dunno why Playmates or Peter or whoever didn't want a seperate collector line they only sell at comic shops or something.

I would not expect toon toys from NECA.

My understanding is that Playmates has no interest in selling to a market outside of WalMart/Toys R Us, etc.

I also am not putting too much hope into Neca. We keep preaching about how great their other work is but until we know the TMNT story, I dare not say we will be getting what we really want just yet.

Well, I expect anything they make to be excellent, but I am willing to promise you that they do not solve the "Playmates Problem" as so many of you (not necessarily you, Slash) think it will. My personal wishlist of characters consists mostly of Archie characters, and unless there's a major change in train of thought, that's not gonna happen no matter who's making the toys.

The rest of my wishlist includes Turtle figures sculpted in the styles of Mirage artists and Movie 1 figures. At least the possibility for these would exist.

I'd be happy if we Mirage style comic book characters that we want to see. I doubt we will get an Ace the Duck (Toon/Comic/or Toy Based) for an example.

I feel like we're too busy (not you, Rose!) saying "Playmates, you suck! Neca is going to be better than you!"

For all we know, we might get a very, very limited TMNT line of just the four turtles, a Shredder, a Foot Soldier, a Foot Elite, Casey, and an April. Possibly a Splinter (especially since he's dead...)

I almost suspect that we will get the comic canon characters from the table top. I'd imagine we'd get a Shredder, posed. If these are statues like the MOTU, I'd be careful with the resin. I hope that is not the case.

Those figures look hilarious. Leo looks decent. Donnie looks really cool. Raph looks like he's in a super fast car and his cheeks are being blown by the wind and Mikey looks like a creepy pervert. awesomely horrible. The alins look decent though.

Now that we know NECA is going to be making TMNT figures, I doubt Playmates will release anything that catches my interest. I have already got Shredder and Jungle Leo from the new wave, so I am satisfied with what I have.
The mini mutants are must buys for me also.

Thanks Spitfire for showing me that figure.

They don't even try anymore.

http://toynewsi.com/news.php?catid=20&itemid=11886

Just more basic turtles on modded/repainted 2k3 vehicles. I can't see how kids are interested in this crap at all. As a kid I knew when they reused figures/vehicles and it made the line feel really cheap and I'd lose interest.

If this is how it keeps going, I'm afraid we may not get the follow up to fast forward my friends.
