That one was much easier to understand. ^_^ You should get that made into a move.

I will say, It's not so much I think FF sucks, as I find it uneven. I liked it at first, but everytime they got interresting, they put in a bunch of fillers, and almost completely forgot that they were getting into something deep.

That said, I feel the biggest problem with the show was this. The characters were oversimplified. Now I can see them making the characters a little bit more carefree, since they no longer had to worry about Shredder and everything like that, and they knew they were coming home and such. But they made Mikey too juvenile, Raph too grouchy, and Splinter too corny.

I enjoyed some of it, and I thought most of the toys were cool... but I really hope they make the series more like what they had it with the rest of the series.

Why do you think Splinter is corny?

And as I have said before, FF does not suck. It is a good concept. I just wish they had more good storyline episodes.

I don't get how they could have screwed up FF. I mean it was the same crew unlike how Gargoyles's spinoff series was. Still, IMHO whoever came up with and/or wrote the dialogue for the villains--namely Triple Threat and Jammerhead--should never work in the animation industry again!
Anyway, I overall didn't think it was THAT bad but yeah, it was a big step down from our beloved 2k3 series. The elaborate continuity was lost and characters lost depth due to the writing suddenly becoming very heavy handed and simplistic. It took quite a while for the season to get going!
BTW, I strongly agree with what happened to Raph. I don't know how Lloyd (the producer), Roy (our director), Laird, or even Raph's VA couldn't notice the change in Raph. They changed him from one of the most complex and interesting characters in comic history into simply a one-dimensional hothead--and that he remained . I thought Don and Mike remained the same though but I don't think Leo showed his strong leadership ways until halfway through the series.
And of course I don't have to talk about the animation. It's shoddy, everyone should have seen it and noticed.

His obsession with soap operas. Once or twice mentioning he likes to watch them is funny... but making it every other thing he said was corny. I actually cringed in the movie when Splinter mentioned it.

I agree. And the charachters are a little too edged, and the coloration almost hurts my eyes.

But I love that they've made the Turtles different sizes.

cos the stupid writers dont have a real grip on their personalities so they feel they must totally overstate them and what everybody else said.

we know they're not REALLY that bad....

I agree with all of you. I don't care for Fast Forward at all because it lost what 2K3 had. I mean, we have no multiple story arcs, hardly any good villains (the exceptions being Darius and Sho'kanabo), and no opening narration. We also have a stupid battle cry that doesn't need to be said. The Turtles have their weapons out, so we know they're gonna fight, Why do they have to have a dumb battle cry? Those are the things that have irked me about Fast Forward. However, I still watch it 'cause it's the best that we have right now.

Okay, I only saw the soap operas being mentioned in three out of the 26 FF episodes:

- "Future Shellshock" has Splinter about to have his soap opera start in 5 minutes, so he tells Michelangelo that watching sci-fi is moot.
- "Obsolete" has Splinter stay behind to catch up on his soap operas.
- Another episode, not sure which one right now, has Splinter want to go to a museum where they are showing soap opera memorabilia.

Certainly not in every episode. And certainly not more than once in a given episode.

I do agree that he was a bit too quick to thwap Mikey in "Timing is everything". And he overall loses his patience with Mikey quicker than usual. I think that in the regular 2k3 run, Raphael gives him just about as hard a time. Granted, Raph complains about disliking the future in more than one episode- but at least he shows up for training and does not get sidetracked.

That would be "The Fall of Darius Dunn".

I'm surprised that the title of the thread has yet to be spell-corrected...

Yeah, but ain't it a bit boring while that's like everything Mikey's and Raph's capable in FF when it comes to interaction or even generally bringing forward their attitudes or personalities? It's like something has been dropped out of them to make them fit in a more simple form.
yeah, no kidding. I liked the suble depths the turtles had to their characters in 2k3 series. I thought that all four of the turtles had grown up a bit in 2k3. Raph was more mature and had become more of a team player and was had shown that he can easily take up the reins of leadership during a hectic situation, now he is back to being petulant and churlish. Mikey had just begone to mature and stop being such a slap stick character and learning a bit more humilty and and maturity. His evoltuoin took the longest in my opinion but right when it was making some head way and he was finnaly showing signs of coming into him self FF happened and he was reduced to being even more immature and embarassing than what he was in the first season. In the 2k3 series Mikey was immature and annoying but the series made it seem more nuanced than just mere immaturity and made it seem there was an actual reason behind his behavior at times. In FF Mikey is annoying and immature for no more reason other than he can be, with no reall reason behind it.

LOL, Yeah, after he's helped them all take down both Shredders, manifest the dragons in the Tribunal with them, aided in their defeat of every villain they've killed. I mean, those accomplishments were just as much his as they were the others'. He deserves as much credit as they do. Sometimes, when he is gloating in an annoying, unnecessary way, while I do believe he's in the wrong, I say to myself, like in Grudge Match..."Well, considering the way you guys treat him sometimes...what do you expect, that he's just gonna let you get away with it without some type of payback." However, I do like how they stood up for him in Graduation Day, that was a good momentary change of behavior...I actually accepted it when they were slapping him during that.
Yeah, they do act like Mikey is just piggy backing on the others work all the time rather than giving him credit for what he does alot of the time. But then maybe the others think that if they compliment him on his work that it'll go straight to his head and he'll get even more boastful than how he is right now. Its pretty hard to detect which pattern of behavior is the result of what. If Mikey acts all cocky and boastful because his brothers act in a "why do we keep him around" sort of way to get back at them. Or if the others act in a "why do we keep him around" sort of way because Mikey is so boastful and cocky toward them. Its hard to see what was the result of what

I think the Turtles want to give Mikey credit, but they're afraid he'll just rub it in their faces. I liked in Grudge Match how Leo said to Mikey, "You did good." He was giving Mikey credit for facing Kluh and being able to beat him.

one thing that I feel a little miffed about in this series is that Dontello hasn;t been given any real attention. Which I think, given the fact the fact the show is placed in the future with all this uber advanced technology , that the tech head would get some focus with him lavishing over it or something.

that is what I said in my post above. I think half of the reason the guys act in a "why the heck to we keep him around any more" way is because his behavior asks for it alot of the time. I doubt the turtles would be so dismissive of him other wise.
