Haven't heard back from Jim directly yet, but Dan seems receptive. It's not too late. He says he'll take the idea to Jim and Eric and if they're cool with it, they're going to roll with it.

Awesome. It'd be a neat little send-off, if they did it and would definately make that last issue stand-out just a bit more.

My only gripe with that cover is the coloring in comparison. Ain't it a shame what they went to? Look at the jobs done on the old rtny covers.. amazing. Tales 70... coloring book picture. No nothin but plain ol color.

Yeah... I wonder if it's just a preview mock-up until the final coloring job is done. But probably isn't.

I wonder if Sabacooza would be willing to take over the colors on that cover, gratis? Dan might be receptive to that.

I hate to be a killjoy, but I suspect this comic will be:

- 5 pages of Raph walking down the sewer halls
- 5-8 pages of Raph and Zog staring at each other/following each other without saying a word
- 5-6 pages of a minor fight
- A 2-3 page short scene at the end where Raph returns to the lair, right before Leo/Mike/Don are introduced to Zog in the old #20
- If we're lucky, a short epilogue from future Raph or something from the present day.

- Some minor editorial from Peter Laird saying Tales is done, thanks for the good memories, Volume 4 will come out about once a year, etc.

And....that's how I suspect it'll go.

There isn't a Canadian price anymore. Their license with Viacom is NA-only now, I believe. The latest Tales covers don't contain a Canada price.

What woulda been interesting is an issue prior to vol.1 #1. The night of preperation. That to me could have been a really cool ending. Finish what you started, when it started.. so to speak.

That's an awesome idea, that's what I thought Tales 55 was gonna be about before I read it.

Another huge missed opportunity in Tales was an Usagi story... 70 issues and all we got was an Usagi/TMNT pin-up?

As cool as that sounds, it seems like it might read too similarly to #55.

And, like ToTheNines, I also thought #55 would be the day before the Shredder fight before I read it. The future Raph ending was better.

Steve Lavigne is locked as colorist on the cover of #70... but Dan tells me that the color job we see on it right now is not final -- that really is just a mock-up that is appearing on miragelicensing.com.

Perhaps the Canadian price was eliminated because our dollar is virtually the same as the Canadian dollar nowadays? A quick check on xe.com, I only see a .02 difference right now.
