Hey everyone! I'm kind of new around here, but I lurk from time to time...

Anyways I got to go to this event last night, and let me tell you - it was AWESOME!! As an old school turtle fan, I was in geek heaven. Meltdown is a rad place regardless, I used to shop there quite a bit a few years ago when I lived in Hollywood (I'm in the Valley now). They had a whole section set up for the gallery featuring prints and memorabilia and actual pages from the IDW comic - all for sale. It was so cool. There was this room full of stuff on display (you couldn't go in, but it was behind glass), all from Kevin's personal collection. I think they said the whole room is going up in one big auction sometime soon.

And then there was the man himself. I've been a comic fan and turtle fan forever, but I've never gotten the chance to meet him before. Guy was a class act, all the way. Totally nice dude, he seemed really into meeting and talking with the fans. He was drawing full-page sketches for us in the books too (that new IDW collection of the old Mirage books). I got him to sign a few *other* things as well. Oh and they had free pizza and beer, natch.

That mural looked so amazing in person. I've got to go back this weekend and get some better shots of it.

(And Turtle Van Guy - your van is very cool. Color me a bit jealous.)

Ah, just curious because I stopped by yesterday and the comic shop guys said the same but the gallery wasn't open because the event people weren't there yet. Perhaps you guys were running late that day? Oh well. I'm not from LA, so I was a bit disappointed, but I'm actually heading back next week for the holidays, so it'll be my last chance! I would love to at least check out Kevin's artwork, so my plan is to stop by Wednesday, buy my Mikey "mike"ro and check it out!

Yesterday morning the gallery wasn't open because I was home sick. I've been at the gallery for over 12 hours a day every day for a month straight. My body just kinda gave out. So Kevin opened that day. Not sure what time he got there. Sorry!
