I'm a huge fan of these myself, but I'm a sucker for tragic stuff so... yeah. I have to say I'm a fan of the blood and cuts on them because it gives the impression that these scenes follow immediately after that fateful battle, showing them mourning before they've even cleaned up or properly left the battlefield. It's that first, raw moment when the last of the enemies has been put down and it hits them - my brothers are dead.

I agree. I don't think they're over the top at all. I loved all three of the others when I first saw them over a year ago on DA, and I don't think the blood is too much or detracts in any way. It give it a sense of immediacy. It makes it feel as if we are seeing that moment when they finally crawl away, broken and battered, only to realize they are the only one left. It's heart-breaking. The knowing that each is now alone. IMHO, it's tragically beautiful.

Good perspective! The pictures give a far more painful, and tragic level to the phrase given to the TMNT: "The only one of their kind".

Ha yes I know this artist's gallery. He got 1 Daily deviation for his Mikey and 1 for his Raph so it made a good advertising for his gallery, and a lot of people were watching him because they waited for his Leo piece to show up.

My favorite is Raph and then Donnie

I saw these a while ago on DA (cept for Leo, first time for that), and I think they are amazing. Very talented...and I love tragic things, so they are beautifully done. Funny that the Mikey one is my favorite, even though he is not my favorite turtle. Just something about his pose and the background is amazing.
