Take that, Marvel & DC animated programming!

*Lethal Lullaby* · 02-26-2013, 06:07 PM

This is great news!

I bet all the Bruce Timm and Greg Weisman fans are bitter. (For the record, I am a huge DC and Marvel cartoon fan, and I know how they feel).

As I said, each TMNT cartoon makes a bare minimum of 150 episodes and I expect the Nick show to be the same. We are NOT DC and Marvel with their short lived 26-65 episode series.

*Donatello19* · 02-26-2013, 06:16 PM

Great news, but as others have said, I'm not surprised at all. Let's hope the show sticks around for a while, at least 6-7 seasons I say.

Forneus · 02-26-2013, 07:02 PM

BOOYAKASHA! Ahhh yeah, all's well within the world of Turtles. This is the best news I've had all month!

Martin · 02-26-2013, 07:08 PM

Awesome! I wonder why they are renewing so soon though. It seems only yesterday that they were announcing season 2. Anyway, great news

The 3 seasons minimum was planned from the start. One of the old events back in 2012 said, "new episodes committed through 2015" which is 3 seasons.

They'll probably look at ratings and toy sales from the rest of Season 1 and 2 before deciding a Season 4 and above though.

Like how you said that the episode after Chong has Newtralizer? And then lied about Nines posting it and there was nothing? Unless you provide a link I'm not believing anything you post.

This is great news..

Can't wait to see what Ciro comes up with.

And...here it is:

This was from one of the early promotions in 2012. One of the lines on the screen says, "new episodes committed through 2015."

Ryanator008 · 02-26-2013, 07:56 PM

Don't you guys get it? This show's success was planned by Nick. They want this to replace Spongebob as the show they are known for.

Im not bitter. Greg Weisman has a Gargoyles related novel series coming out (first book comes out in December) so I at least have that to look forward to.

I suspect the decision for a Season 4 renewal were weigh on the impact of the Bay movie, since this will likely be this generation's biggest media moment in terms of drawing in the general audience along with promoting toy sales. I don't know of a cartoon which got cancelled because of a box office bomb in associated with the franchise with the possible exception of Transformers G1 even though that was in the same continuity as the series, so let's enjoy this news. The only question is if it will be a 13 or 26 episode season, since 13 gives it the standard 65 episodes and typically Nick likes to air lots of reruns by the third season of a show (if they already are doing so far). But most importantly, this wouldn't be possible without the support of us fans for enjoying the show.
