My half-sister lived with our grandmother and is 8 years older than me. When she turned 11, she decided she was too old for all of her toys and dumped them at my house, ostensibly so my Mom could give them to someone else's kids, which I guess she eventually did. But for a while I'd kinda have the My Little Ponies hang out on the side whenever He-Man and crew needed to rescue or protect someone from Skeletor and Co. F*ck it, I was 3 or 4 and I needed a Supporting Cast for when my toys would go to war behind the couch.
And you could totally brush their manes and tails, although they didn't have any articulation. Toys were a lot simpler back then, especially girls' toys. |

I thought that title belonged to Power Rangers. It changed its name and slight uniform changes and then made real cheap from various incarnations platic prototype. I saw a Zeo one the other day. Let's push the TMNT through. Come on don't let the colorful ponies get the best of the mean green machine.

I was torn between the two, seeing as both TMNT and MLP have been a part of my life for a very long time, and I still love them both a lot now (if I'm not poking around here, I'm likely on a pony forum). But after reading Cubed's comment I'm feeling highly inclined to vote ponies. I am neither in my 30's or a male, but such gross generalizations of an entire community that's just as dedicated over their toys and shows as this one really rubs me the wrong way.
Edit: Also, there are some ponies with articulation, just not a lot. Currently they have the "Crystal Motion" ponies with legs that move, and there are a few older gen ponies with the same type of feature. Overall though, their biggest play factor is their brushable hair. The more you know.
