Most likely next time they see him they won't call him Spike anymore. Spike is how Raphael saw him when he was his pet turtle, but now that he's evil he won't have that affection for him anymore. I think he'll just be called Slash from now on.

You don't have to come from Dimension X to be brutal. Instead, it was a problem that was started not from the forces of evil but by Donnie himself, quite ironic since he was once voiced by this Slash! That was some wicked fighting by Slash. He captured Donnie in a hurry, taking his bandana along with him that doesn't appear again until the end of the episode. I liked the misconceptions that the humans would mistake for the cannisters, from antique lamps to energy drinks. I liked how Raph coped with the "April Princess" that made me wonder that he was about to be asked how many licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll Pop. It was the best episode of the series so far that was Raph-centric and this proved that he is some strong dude. The big mystery that we'll be discussing is where Slash will end up next; will the Kraang/Foot capture him? Or will he meet the Turtles again seeking revenge? While not quite as fun as the previous episode, it was still an episode with a good mix of fighting and dialogue. But some of the plot stuff being used is starting to get a bit formulaic, such as certain vintage arcade games with screwups at the start of the episode, and then being reprised later, along with certain magazine/comic collectibles by Mikey.
Overall: 8/10

It was a good episode, but it was also kind of sad. I wonder if that's how Spike/Slash really feels or if the mutagen warped his mind.
First Donnie, now Raph. This just goes to show that the best way to get stuff off your chest is through a journal and not someone who could potentially misinterpret your frustration as a reason to hurt or going after the person/people your upset with. That's just my option though. ='x'=

This Episode... WAS F*#KING PERFECT!
The amount of times I fanboyed was unbelievable and SLASH... Man, what a great villain! Seriously, he's my second favourite only to The Shredder! Where do I start? Well, first of all: this was a perfect Episode for Raphael. At one point I was getting disappointed because I thought they were gonna do the whole 'Temper' development thing again, but they quickly turned that around and made it into a fantastic arc for the character (Up there with the best Raph/Casey Stories!). The redemption was beautifully handled. I'm so glad they also didn't forget about the other turtles and found a way to tie them into the main plot almost seamlessly. Leo's search for the mutagen and the Scene where the Raph Vs. Slash fight breaks into the little girls house was the most hilarious thing I've seen so far from the show XD. Speaking of fights, That has to be the most brutal battle yet... And I loved every second of it! The tension, suspense and drama made for an incredible sequence that's up there with The Gauntlet's ending. Finally, I loved the resolution with Splinter's message at the end; Not dwelling on what has been lost, but instead looking at what you have now. One of my absolute favourites: "Slash & Destroy" is a (10/10) IMO!

Or just that even the best people can unknowingly create their own personal demons and struggle to overcome them. What Timothy/MM was to Donnie, Slash was to Raph in a way. |

Absolutely FANTASTIC episode. Did not disappoint one bit. Slash was freaking PSYCHOTIC and I loved every minute of it.
I loved just how big of a threat he was. Not only could the Turtles only barely come close to tiring him out, but he destroyed each of them in a matter of seconds. Plus, the whole thing of him being Spike made Raph hesitate and try to reason with him in a situation where he just wasn't getting anywhere. Slash truly had complete control of the fight until Raph lured him with his rage. Definitely some of the best and most dramatic action in the series yet. To sum it up, it gave Raph some good development while introducing an awesome new version of a classic character with plenty of action and drama thrown in. This is why I love this series. Can't wait to see more of our spiky friend in the future. |

Probably the same reason he had spikes all over him and went to his adult size right away. And the same reason mutagen double-mutates Dogpound into Rahzar.
The mutagen has no rules in this show, it does whatever the writers want it to for the episode. |

Man I loved this episode! Feldman nailed the voice. I'd always imagined Slash to sound menacing before the OT Slash episode aired in s4 when I was a kid and this auditory portrayal just blew me away. I'm not saying that Fraley did a poor job in the old show. That character was always one of my favorites, but it's like Feldman heard this voice in my head and brought it to life. Hope that makes sense. I suppose you guys would compare this type of thing to going to see a movie based on a book and seeing the characters likenesses mirroring those in your imaginations.
Can't wait until this episode is added to my video library on amazon. I'll certainly be rewatching this one. Loved the Leo and little girl scenes. Anyone know who voiced the child? I'm wondering if it is Sean Astin's little girl. That'd be neat. Also loved the Raph/Slash battle and can't wait to see more of this new turtle. You know who I hope Slash goes after eventually? Hope he goes after SpiderBytez. That guy really got under Raph's shell and I'd love to see Vic's hairy behind handed to him by this powerhouse.

I loved it. I don't have much to add that wasn't already said. Now that Raphael has lost Spike as his "best friend", he can bond with Casey Jones!

I have to say, there's something strangely fascinating about the way Corey Feldman plays this character. For a second, I thought that was Ron Pearlman doing the voice.

I wonder if this episode scared little kids. The show is definitely becoming a bit more violent as it progresses. Compare the battle damage of the Turtles here back to, "The Gauntlet" of Season 1.
Removing their bandanas was a nice touch. |
