Playmates... yeah, I dunno with them sometimes. Noticed a while ago that the 11" movie Leo on the back of his left calf (boot technically) he's got a scaly texture going on. His right? Nope. Can't decide if it was simply overlooked, the left done unintentionally, or did they decide it was unimportant and too time consuming to continue with it. At least it's just on the back of his boot so not noticeable really, but still... lol
The 5 year old child in the factory did not remember to paint it, most likely.
It's a shame for the adult collector, to be sure. 1 dollar a day is more tahn enough for them to do it right.

That's the thing, it's not missing paint, it's in the sculpt of the plastic, so that's in the hands of whoever they had doing the sculpture for the toy molds.

Want accurate details and symmetry, well that's gonna cost ya some hundreds.

I forget how pricy that Raph one was supposedly going so I only recall that these things are expensive, but officially kinda brokenhearted that I'm not rich.

I guess it's the lighting, but the Raph statue looks a lot better made then the Leo statue. Leo looks less... sharp in the paintwork, details and a lot more "plastic-y"

Yeah, I think the lighting is a lot of it, the Raph one does look like he was given more dramatic lighting and shadow, with a lot more even softer lighting done for Leo.

I do wish they went a little less glossy on the masks so it looks more fabric-like.

They put a pic on Facebook with a peek at the Mikey statue:

I'm ready for them to get Don made so I can add him to the collection. Not sure if I should buy all 4. 2800 for the set isn't horrible but that would probably be enough to almost finish out my moc Don collection.

That Leo is beautiful. But who the f*ck can afford these?! It's almost unfair. Or say you do save up, who can justify spending that much on a figure? I wonder if Ritchson/Fisher/Ploszek/Knoxville/Howard will get sent a free one of who they played in the mail.

My apologies if someone has already discussed this point, but did anyone catch Prime 1's major oopsie the other week concerning their other planned line of TMNT statues?

They announced that they had a special announcement to make, which they accompanied by an image of the original TMNT movie poster. As you can imagine, the announcement generated a ton go excited, but then Prime 1 abruptly canceled the announcement and said that they didn't have any news.

My guess is that they realized advertising the products everyone really wants before releasing the products that people were settling for was not the best business model.

o.O Hmmmm.... Yeah, if they've got something else in the works that might not be wise to give people reason to hold off for those instead considering the prices. Hadn't seen that but explains a comment/question or two I saw about some other set.

I know, and since they're supposedly rather large I really wish they'd eventually come out with one maybe half the height and more affordable, but still the same level of quality. But I know nothing about this company or if they'd ever do that...

Read that the bases they stand up supposedly link together. Hope to see a pic someday of all four someone bought and where on earth they display them like that. They're awesome, but even one sounds like a display challenge for sure.

As I Crave Pizza No More mentioned, on Prime 1 Studio's Facebook page, they have made an announcement regarding the TMNT and their Mirage beginnings. It mentions the time frame from 2/4/15 through 2/15/15 and Parco Gallery X. So it sounds like they're at some type of show and either just announcing a new line of statues or maybe even showing them off at this gallery.

So I was a proud owner of 3 out of 4 Playmates Cold Cast statues, wich made me owner of almost half of the cool statues ever made of the turtles because I wanted to convince myself I didn't like the Sideshow series that much (even though I really do).

And now I have to convince myself that there IS another fantastic statue series I will never own. I'll hold to the thought that a Bay inspired figure isn't worth that much, but at the same time I have to admit these look fantastic.

I need to marry a soap opera diva who would pay any whim of her passionated spanish young lover!!

So it looks like Splinter will be getting a statue too. Pretty cool but definitely out of my price range.

That's a pretty good Splinter statue.

I think if you are going to spend that money....to me the Sideshow ones are still the best out there....and you can still get them for less that the Prime1 statues if you are patient

I like the stand, or should I say table, he's on.

Cool to see how the bases fit together for the guys, though I still want to know who has the space to dedicate to displaying them like that, let alone own them all. Or any. lol (I wish the company would put up one of each to be won by lucky people.)

Still have to give them props on the likeness though.

Spoiler:

From now on when something is difficult, I think I'll use a new phrase and say that it's "as difficult as fitting a mutant Turtle though a manhole." Because there is no way that is going to work. lol

That (evil looking) Splinter looks awesome. Suprised they didn't have him with a sword in fight stance though.

I am surprised they haven't announced a Shredder statue in this line seeing as they did a Splinter. Since I have the Raph statue from the Amazon TMNT 2014 movie release, I was most looking forward to The Shredder being made by a statue company. I'd assumed if they did more than the turtles, Prime 1 Studio would have done a Shredder before a Splinter statue. The Shredder probably would have been too big in scale, and in price by Prime 1 Studio for me anyway so I guess I should be glad about that.
