I wonder where I've seen those before...

*looks at his TMNT mutating figures from the old line*

Oh yeah, so that's where.

Seriously, you can tell they just put the new TMNT heads on the old figures. I don't see why mutating figures are needed, but I guess it's better than more sports TMNT.

YEAH, I was like "Waitaminute...did that say "Mutating TMNT figures!?". I never had the original Mutatin' Foot Soldier, so I'll totally buy 1 or 5 of this one (especially since it can probably stand up better then the new Foot Soldier figure).

::nods:: Yeah, but they did alter the molds, so that's got to count for something right? I mean, in the case of the Foot Soldier, they kinda had to change it cause I don't think the foot soldiers are robots in the new show. Although the toy in the picture does appear to still have robotic designs on him, so maybe they are robots?

still say the foot soldier is the best but would still like to see how there gonna explain that one lol
VM
Out of the old Mutatin' figures, I only own Rocksteady, Bebop, Splinter, Mikey & Don. I don't own the others either because I could never find them, or because they came out when I stopped buying TMNT toys (the last new, normal figure I ever got was Halfcourt, which was in the last quasi-normal wave of figures).

So will I be buying these new ones? Yes & No. I'll buy the Shredder & multiples of the Foot Soldier (I loves me huge amounts of troop figures ), but probably only get Leo & Raph of the mutation ones.

::nods:: I looked at the old mutatin' Foot Soldier on the tmnt website & the new is basically the exact same thing, except this one doesn't have the turtle-shell guards on it's wrists ( I don't think).

Hee-hee, I remember those. Say, didn't Raph's sai's mutate into forks or something?

I think it's already repeating itself, what with TMNT being back on TV & in the toy stores again.

I'm a TMNT collector & I don't buy everything they make. I've yet to buy those Sports Gear turtles, & my latest TMNT figure purchase was on friday & it was Casey Jones.

Hey, no one is twisting your arm duder, you don't have to buy anything you don't want to- it is a free country after all. If you already own all of these mutating TMNT figures then don't waste your money. But people like myself, who for some reason or another, missed out on them in the original toyline, we'll be buying them.

::nods:: Hey, that's understandable dude. I remember a bunch of figures I never got to get back in the old line & I'm still kicking myself for it. But, since these figures are kinda like resculpted-re-releases of the orignal mutatin' TMNT figures you can probably go without them as you already own them. Remember, you control your buying, not Playmates. They can't control your mind (at least I don't think they can...) so you buy whatever you like. If anything though, I'd buy the new mutatin' Foot Soldier as you can never have enough foot soldiers to beat up on, plus this one can change his head & that's pretty cool.

The other form looks like the foot scientists from "darkness on the edge of town" who were not(as far as we know) robots.

Raphs sais turned in to forks
Leos katanas turned in to knives
Mikeys kunchaku turned in to jump ropes
and Donnies bo's turned in to pogo-sticks.

Snailman....

I do agree with your to some extent but nothing is more satifying than having every Playmates TMNT toy that they make in this new season, hangin on your wall. Thats what I'm looking for.

The turtle look cool, in the young, baby form. The regular one is fat
Shredder and the foot soldier are awful.

well, if i remember right, the old ones were around 10 bucks, so i'm guessing anywhere from ten to fifteen bucks.

i wonder what the packaging will be for these... if they'll use boxes or cards.

It's awesome they're bringing back the mutating figures. I remember how much fun those thinks were, althought with all the new figures coming out I think I'll skip them. I'm not made of money you know!

Althought I'll definetely pick up the foot soldier/ foot scientist figure, IMO it looks really darn cool, expecially since I was dissapointed with the normal foot soldier.

I only have the mutating Leo from the old line of Turtles, and he didn't hold up as good as most of my toys, so this isn't THAT bad to me. I don't know what's up with the Shredder, because I don't remember the one from before being that odd looking.

I'm sure there's more accessories than what's shown there. If I remember right, I paid $9.99 for any of the mutating figures I have.

Oh, okay. Was that already shown last season, or is it one of the episodes from the 2nd half of Season 1?

That's right! Heh, I had Don & Mikey, but Don's "Pogo-Bo-Stick" really didn't work to well.

::nods:: Oh yeah, having the whole collection would be awesome, but I guess getting to say that doesn't come without a price (litterally in this case as you have to buy the figures). Hopefully the mutatin' ones won't cost like 20 bucks or anything.

Hmmm...I dunno, maybe they'd still be 10 bucks or so? I mean, the original TMNT figures sold for $3.99 at Toys-R-Us & $5.99 at Kay-Bee Toys. Now, they sell for about $5.99-to-$6.99 depending on where you go (I still think it's cool to walk into KB toys & buy a brand new TMNT figure for the same price it cost for one about 10 years ago ).

If they use boxes, would that up the price any?

7 bucks at Wal-Mart? ::thinks:: Okay..so if they were 7 bucks at Wal-Mart back then, they maybe they were 8 bucks at TRU, & maybe 10 at Kay-Bee? So maybe they will be 10 bucks nowadays then. ::shrugs:: Guess we wait until they come out. I guess.

::nods:: Yeah, that's right. Alot of things that used to be sold in boxes back in the day are now being sold MOC. My guess is it's easier (& less expensive) to sell toys on blister cards then inside boxes. I remember seeing the re-issued mutatin' foot soldier too, it was for the TMNT' toyline's 10th Anniversary if I'm not mistaken. They re-released alot of the older figures for that thing, but none of the different mutant animal secondary characters.
