[Question] Where actually are the Mods?

I've been thinking of starting a youtube channel, but not until I have a good idea of what I'd be doing. I think if I had good cameras, sets, and put work into writing scripts I can do something pretty cool.

A good example of youtube being used to it's full potential is Jesse Ridgeway (aka mcjuggernuggets). He staged for nearly 5 years an entire story that revolved around him and his family. 1-2 one hour videos a day, all planned, all plotted, with character developement and foreshadowing and everything. The quality of his series only went up as he got more popular. His final video came out a couple weeks ago (so I can't say I look forward to watching him), where "he" as a character had a final showdown witth his father. It was creative and nothing matched or matches up to it. If you're bored, and have a day to kill, look up his channel and click on the "Psycho Series Playlist", which has all the important episodes.

You read a lot older, but maybe that's why you're suggesting the forum needs the moderation.

I guess, if we're being really honest, I'm sick of the policing this generation wants so badly. My generation fought against a police state, and feared the potential of a 1984; y'all are clamoring for it, which is baffling (no not all, but there's a frighteningly loud percentage).

Yeah, I go off, but who hasn't? I fought in the BVS thread, not so much because he liked a thing, and I didn't, but because he's argumentative and so am I, and we happened to hold opposing views. It happened. So what? No one is getting hurt, really. He'll come back at some point, or he won't. The movie looked stupid, he didn't agree, the movie opened, He was wrong, the end. 27% is, well, 27%.
It's a movie, though, ya? I'm sure he'll get over it, if he hasn't already. He's still a funny guy with razor sharp wit. I'm still an overtired SOB. He still has an account.

If you're not keen on political debates, cool, that's alright, but the thing is, everyone here, who lives in the US, will or will someday have a vote. It's way more important, to know what's happening in you country, than what's happening to Bayturtles, Paul Feig, or at Comic-con. You can say the system's rigged, and to an extent it is, or that it doesn't really change anything, and maybe some feel that way, but the truth is, The world you're looking at today, compared to 16 years ago, is different, primarily because of the politics, of the last 16 years. The snark is just a symptom of a diseased culture.

We joke about Brexit, about Google searches the following day primarily being "What does it mean to leave the E.U." We're not that different. Cops are shooting innocent folks in the street, and half the world is playing Pokemon.
That really happened.

We're not nice, anymore. We're mean bullies, angry and malcontent. Mods won't "fix" that, other than to just silence non-conformists. No ones's going around posting hate speech or porn, or anything truly disturbing (okay maybe the Bugs bunny gif...definitely yeah...) but honestly, with so little TMNT to talk about, what's left to talk about?

We've all talked it to death, which if I had a guess, would be the most likely reason the old members are gone.

I used to be really excited about new JonTrons, but my interest in him has deflated slowly but surely... I suffered through that Star Wars series he did, and was excited to see him return to his core show, except now his budget is way higher than it was before, and it's gotten to his head.
So instead of a goofball and his bird sitting in a chair, making commentary, it's now huge skits where's he's dragging live animals around and bringing in other actors... it's not as stupidly simple as it used to be.

It's funny how most of the YT channels I pay attention to are video game-related, even though I really don't play video games at all. PBG, Eggbusters, etc. Their commentary is always really funny though.

As for the quality of the Technodrome - I don't think it'll ever recover. We've grown way too used to sh!tposting in recent years - especially in the PD section - and when the whole community is ready and willing to partake in that, I think all hope is lost. Sometimes we're pretty good about moderating when a joke or trend has gone too far, but sometimes we aren't.
Like the "Should ___ be in TMNT 3" threads. The first few were pretty funny, and it should have ended there. But then it turned into a Reddit situation where everyone (myself included) tried to cash in on the meme/trend and be Mr. Funny for a day. That shouldn't happen.

However, C42, I do think we need a level of moderation to prevent out-and-out anarchy. True small government, though such a thing rarely exists.

Oh, absolutely. I think the mods are mostly needed to keep Youtube/download links squelched, ban Goku's reincarnations, take care of crap like when Megashredder went on his little nerd rampage of "viruses" and whatnot, and step in to ban members who post death threats and whatever.

None of that happens very often, so other than that, self-policing. Which honestly sounds like the current situation already.

They all went on a group vacation to Hawaii. Krang paid their expenses and they all went with their families all at once for the entire summer. They are sipping drinks on the Hawaii sun and sitting on beaches without a care in the world.

I've been without internet for over a month, and just got it back tonight and came to 40 reported posts and a bazillion PMs...
