I haven't seen this episode in years but what I remember most about it is the way to episode uses Baxter in a haunting way (in ghost mode) to begin with before becoming whole. Very effective.

Agreed. I liked that both Splinter and Shredder could sense a presence, though they didn’t know it was Baxter. Kinda reminded me of the way the Rat King was portrayed in his first episode and he appears in this ep too.

Exactly! Very effectively done. This is why I've loved this series.

I think they also hit the grybyx with their stun rays (can’t remember if it were them or Shredder).

But for freeze rays, I think Return of the Fly was the only episode.
