He can't just be a goofball all the time, there needs to be some dimension to is character.

silly characters can get mad/sad/upset sometimes. They can get affected by things.

I'm talking about when Leo goes down and Mikey is having a hard time coping with it, and he gets a bit depressed. It's not going to last no more than half an episode, just something to show what he is capable of. I wouldn't want him to be like that all of the time, it's the reason once in a blue moon, it's OK, because it's more shocking than if it happened all of the time.

I don't mind Mikey being a goofball/silly in fact if I didn't like that about him he wouldn't be my favorite now would he?

I think they did Mikey much better in season 1 whether he was smarter or dumber doesn't matter....he knew when to get serious.

and that's all I ask. I love my silly Mikey but I also want him to be mature when it counts. It also couldn't hurt to have a Mikey episode that actually gave him character development, cause what's the point of having an episode about a character if you aren't going to do anything with it.

It would only be temporary, after the upcoming events I'm sure. Personally, I think a good way to show Mikey cracking for this incarnation would be to have him trying his hardest to remain as lighthearted and optimistic as he usually does, but having it come across as forced to either the audience or those around him. You know, his trying his best to try to hold on to some form of normalcy despite all that happened, putting him into a serious denial stage.

People deal with stress or traumatic or serious situations differently. For instance, I joke around. I've been doing that since I was admitted into the hospital Friday. It helps me cope. Mikey might be the same type for this incarnation.

Since starting season 2, I've felt this way. He's not very ADHD either compared to the first season. He is an optimist though through and through to me, so I could see this Mikey doing just that. Trying to keep the role of the heart, even though he's in pain himself.

At times I actually wonder if he fakes some of those moments where you're left scratching your head when we have eps like Wrath of Tigerclaw where he figured out how to find Casey and a great place to fight Tigerclaw because it would give them the advantage, sorta like how he was in Wormquake.

I just feel that there's way more to Mikey than what's been shown, and that they're being reveled in slow increments as the seasons pass.

How come in the TMNT universe, when they are in a place that has low oxygen levels, they just use a hose to the mouth instead of an actual breathing mask like say, the divers wore in The Abyss?

This is a franchise where the main characters are adolescent mutated reptile who know ninjutsu and fight a guy who looks like cheese grater. I'm not sure that that is they question to be asking.

Because it just might be supplementing oxygen instead of completely adding it. The Kraang don't gasp for air when they are loose, so this means that Earth's atmosphere might not be comfortable but they can tolerate it (Dimension X might have far more nitrogen gas then earth does, but still has a tiny bit of oxygen.) It might not be enough for Earth creatures, so they have to have the supplementing.

At least, that's my theory.
