I posted a link to an auction for the same statue, unpainted, and it ended for like $116. I believe that the same seller is offering more at or around that price.

Anyone else have a pain selling items on ebay? Sometimes when you ship then a package they claim they never got it or that the item was destroyed in the mail.

Why is the seller held responsible because the post office is filled with idiots who toss around the packages breaking them there? The buyer is understandably upset, but why should eBay refund them out of my money for someone else's incompetence?

And the thing is you still pay the shipping and ebay fees, so you lose both the item AND eBay doesn't refund you for the own money you spent on shipping. They really got to stop screwing over the seller and its cost me money and the item is gone.

Well, anyone who ships without delivery confirmation is an idiot. If they claim damage or otherwise, tell them to ship it back and you'll refund their money.

They don't ship it back though, the guy wants to keep it and still asks for his money back. And eBay almost always favors the buyer in cases like this, because you can't prove that it wasn't broken when you shipped it. Even if you have a picture of it from the auction that shows it OK they said you could have switched it with another one.

eBay hasn't ruled a decision yet, but I would hope ebay refunds the guy out of their own cash, not my own. Because they usually issue a full refund including the shipping fees, which means I'm out the $12 I spent in shipping either way.

I agree, I learned the hard way.

I always assume I will eat the cost as a seller and insure items that I would not want to eat the cost of. In addition I will add signature confirmation. But always ask for the buyer to pay return shipping for the refund on less expensive items so that hopefully it's not worth it and their scam fails. In many cases the buyer has pulled the switcheroo not the seller.

Indeed. It really bothers me when the person says, "item is not as described" when something either happened to it over transit or the guy himself took away some parts of the toy or whatever.

As a seller there's really no way to prove you're being honest, ebay puts you in a bad light because you got the guys money. And then you lose the money, the item, AND the shipping fees you pay.

I've been having a lot of trouble with non-paying bidders lately. At least I get to keep my items, but it's still annoying. I don't undestand why people will bid and not pay or even respond to messages.

I even set my settings to block anyone with 2 or more unpaid item strikes, and I'm STILL getting non-paying bidders!

I had two problems this past week as well, after not having any problems for quite some time. The second guy has another day or two to pay, but I doubt he's gonna.

I've opened up 9 non-paying bidder cases in literally the last month and a half. Its really ridiculous.

I don't know who these people on ebay are, they all have quite a number of positives so they're not all new users either.

Daaaaamn, that's crazy. Very bad luck on your part, I guess. I don't really use ebay all that much (at least not as a seller, anyway) but thankfully in my 4 years or so on it I've had virtually no issues.

The last guy who finally paid today gave an excuse that, "My bank account was hacked and I was running around trying to save my money."

Seriously, do these people really think these excuses are believeable? Another guy said he had no internet access for two weeks.

Up until December I never had a non-paying bidder in my 15 years of Ebay selling. Since then I've had 7 NPBs, and 1 buyer who claimed item not received even though it was confirmed delivered. I don't know what's happening lately, but I'm almost want to take a break from Ebay selling.

Two weeks? Oh man, it's XXI century, there's Wifi in every possible place.
I bet you can find camel in the middle of the desert these days that is connected to internet.

I was extorted by a buyer this way as well. They bought a $13 item, delivery cofirmation said delivered and they still said it was not delivered. I knew eBay would side with me, but the buyer would have likely left negative feedback saying that i was unpleasant to deal with or something.

My favorite was when eBay starting putting a final value fee on the shipping and handling i already lose a couple bucks on.

I have no problems listing things on eBay and then taking the transaction off eBay since PayPal offers the same buyer/seller protection. I used to be loyal though.
