I agree about the Irma twist. She wasn't there that much anyway, so I don't see the problem with having her be a Kraang. My guess is that she's still out there and that the Kraang used her likeness to infiltrate the Turtles' Lair, and it worked. Go easy on the writers, guys. They know what they're doing.

Guys, I think I've just discovered a new obscure reference to the Mirage TMNT comics in this episode!

Okay, so remember that portrait of the Turtles that Splinter was looking at?

Spoiler:

Well, I was looking at some TMNT comic images, when I came across this particular one. It's the cover of the 2nd print of TMNT #3. Pay close attention to the picture of the Turtles behind Splinter. Notice the similarities in the poses for the Turtles?

Spoiler:

Very clever, Ciro. Very clever indeed.

Nice find! Very clever indeed!

We should have a dedicated Mirage reference thread some time and compile all of these snapshots there.

I think Ciro and crew are actually bigger TMNT fans than us...which is tremendous!

I find it funny that no one brought up that photo earlier, because we saw that photo earlier in the season.

This is definitely one of those finales worth re-watching several times. Seems like they really crammed a tun into this one, both visually and concerning the plot.

Yeah, now that I checked, it was in Mutagen Man Unleashed around 1:50 but was nicely hung on the wall and not shattered yet. Now it's thaaat much closer to the comic cover since it's shattered.

You talking nielsen ratings? It is a flawed and broken system that has been broken for a looooonnnnng time. Look, I know how statistics work, but I don't care, there is no way the statistics via the Nielsen ratings can be legit. It comes down to, the nielsen ratings are guaged by a rather small group of people. Word is now that no more than 5000 people are nielsen members. They are either given some sort of report card and they write down what shows they were watching, and the age, gender and race of those that are watching. Some nielsen members will employ a digital box to record what they are watching, and just recently they started to take into account of the DVR, where they will include any DVR watching of up to 3 days from the initial broadcast. No matter how much you slice it and dice it, it's not a very good way to guage what people are truly watching. And I don't like it that it is the only game in town. Monopolies are never good in my eye, and that's what the nielsen is. Very easy for them to take bribes from someone to skew the true results.

Love it! This show has so many references to past incarnations. I think the only one they didn't make a reference to was COOTS or IDW.

Well, didn't the Leo/Donnie banter really start in the current IDW comics?

Or did happen long before that?

Awesome find, TT97. Just goes to show how dedicated Ciro and the team are in referencing what came before. They totally rock!

Leo was frikkin' hardcore in this episode.

So is Leo still lead? I would think that with his injuries and depression one of the others would take over that role for the time being. I know in the finale Donnie was heading the team in Leo's absence, but I'm hoping Raph assumes leadership in homage to the comics.

Also it's been 3 months, what is Splinter doing? Do you think Karai is caring for him after her rescue? Was he able to reunite with Leatherhead? Are the 3 of them stuck in the city together?

And how are Bebop & Rocksteady going to play into all this? I want them to be badasses this time and not just comedic relief.

*sigh* so many questions..

I hope this episode gets nominated for any awards because it certainly deserves it.

Yeah it does. Haven't seen a finale that's rocked this much in a while.
