Good lord. Really, it's an insult to would-be collectors that you wouldn't just open that sucker up.

What do you guys think of eBay explaining that search results will be ordered based on seller performance. So if you do not perform well as a seller, your items will be harder to find when searching, and eBay will make sure this happens.

http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/searchstanding.html

I opted into hassle free returns after a couple bad buying experiences where I opened a case legitimately but would have paid return shipping to reduce the hassle of the whole thing. It made me think I should accept returns so that a buyer who has buyers remorse will just pay return shipping instead of opening phony case.

The "best match" rule makes sense to me, however the star ratings aren't exactly accurate. For example, I always charge either exact shipping or give a discounted shipping rate, eating a few dollars, and I also eat the cost of my shipping materials. Yet my "shipping charges" star rating is 4.9.

I'm guessing it's the Global Shipping Program that's getting me a lower star rating on shipping charges, however I don't control what Ebay charges for that, but I know it's more than it would cost me to ship directly.

Really? You think it costs less if you ship direct? I've actually been wondering about what sellers think of this global shipping program. So please PM me if you have any additional thoughts. I'm currently not enrolled in the program.

I've got the same issues with stars. Everything but shipping is 5 star, but I think it's due to most people not realizing how expensive it is to ship some items. I think most people don't understand that just being bulky (not heavy) increases cost dramatically. When you add weight onto that it can shoot up even faster. Bottom line if your eBay customers aren't regularly shipping out packages themselves they somehow think we're all ripping them off on shipping. USPS has been offering reduced shipping rates for the holiday season and I've upgraded a few customers from standard to priority with no extra charge to them (and sent a message letting them know) and someone still told me I had high shipping. For that I could of just kept the difference. No good deed goes unpunished. Just because we can't ship everything for $2 like some websites... That's okay though, I don't take it personal anymore, lol.

On the topic of the Global Shipping Program, I've had nothing but good things to say about it. I've had no complaints from my customers, in fact quite the contrary. Plus it makes my shipping life easier. The process seems to be pretty darn fast too, had a package go from Texas to the UK in under a week. That's pretty impressive in my book.

In an attempt to reduce clutter i created a thread where i imagine we can chat about eBay policies like global shipping program etc.

Im worried because this thread is for weird and wacky items found on eBay, not ebay policies.

I wish I would have found this before it ended.

This is a sweet piece in my opinion, and a steal. Who ever snagged it is lucky.

There was news van MISB up for sale tonight but it looks like someone bought it. Went for about $375 shipped, so $150 would be good i think.

I wonder what sellers like that are up to. I refuse to believe someone is stupid enough to think that they are going to get a buyer......then again.
