Don't think there are too many in world that are. Fire ants are probably the most risky we have in the U.S. If they're just those tiny black ants many (if not most) have issues with indoors, they're harmless.

(Though I suppose there's always a rare chance a person could be allergic to eating them as with anything else technically edible.)

Thanks, I appreciate it.

Yeah they are black ants so I guess I'm not too worried. I am seeing less ants this morning than I did last night but I guess the darkness helped keep them away.

*Groan* I had the same problem at my childhood home. Those little bastards got into EVERYTHING and every room in the house somehow and ended up making me paranoid of them crawling into my bed. They are the epitome of pure evil. Not even poisons stopped them from getting in.

My theater actually had the cardboard cutout of the Turtles. Unfortunately... it was in a spot where the photos from my mom's phone only wanted to come out dark. >.>

As a humorous aside to the ant issue- the ad at the top of the page when I was reading it was for Raid. Coincidence? Hmmm.....

If our weather could make up its mind on what it wants to be today, that would be great.

You don't want Coastal Brown Ants; they get into your walls, and they're hard to get rid of. You can identify them if some of their number have oversized heads.

A horrible thing happened and I don't really care about it and I'm reasonably sure that makes me awful on some level which is why I'm not giving specific details

Double delivery on my books. Apparently they not inly sent the reorder from when I fixed the expired card issue, but they sent the original order too, even though I had already canceled it. What am I supposed to do with TWO copies of three seperate books?! I'm hoping I can return the second set, and that they didn't actually charge me twice. Amazon needs to get their heads out of their butts.

Still having ideas, but no way to really figure out the holes or what to really do with them.

I have my own TMNT concept, but I'm not sure how well it works.

People not keeping tabs on their dog.

Just had a stray dog walk around our apartment and on the road, no owner in sight and no collar. My partner got a hold of the dog, and put a leash on him as she's now out looking for the owners with the dog in toll.

It would have been a hazard to call the police, cause he looked a bit like a pitbull, which among other "dangerous breeds" are illegal in Norway, and the police have a history to on-sight shoot down dogs that just looks like those breeds regardless of actual pedigree or behavior.

I can understand and relate. A guy came through our drive through this morning and there was a kitten mewing loudly under his hood. I suggested he should get it out but he just acted like it was no big deal- even though he said it had been there all night and he had driven around with it under there from the next town! Doesn't that jerk know what could happen if it got caught in the belts?! It was probably stuck somewhere- sounded like behind the dashboard- but it was obviously in distress. Some people have no compassion.

Unrelated grind but nature decided to punch me in the gut hard today right after I got to work. Had nauseating cramps and hip/back pain so bad I was in tears. My boss got pussy when I asked if I could leave. Could barely even move. Spent most of the day curled in a ball in agony.

That guy should be arrested for animal abuse.

WTH is wrong with that guy? It's ironic how my gear grind also deals with mistreatment and animals.

I talked to my parents this morning...no work. My mother was telling me just a few days a go how our neighbor's place was pretty much empty. A nice couple lived there...one I'd known since elementary school who used to take care of their granddaughter (she's in her late 20s now) as well as the other kids their daughter kept having (three others...they're all in their early 20s/late teens now). Anyway, five years ago, after I came back from Japan after that earthquake/tsunami fiasco, my neighbor passed away. I attended the funeral and everything. That next year, I returned to Japan and I found out that his wife was sickly and had some demntia issues, if I'm not mistaken. The house that she still lived in was fully paid for. Her daughter, however, talked her into doing a reverse mortgage, which she did. That same year, she passed away. I couldn't go to the funeral, but I of course offered my condolences. I'd known them since I was like 7 or 8 years old.

Skip forward to maybe a couple of weeks ago. The house seemed abandoned, but their two small dogs were stil in the backyard. They have a fence, as do we, and we can see into their yard from our sun room. I'd known these two cute dogs forever, even though they had a habit of breaking out of the yard, wandering around, and then returning back home. One time, though, one of them got hit, but luckily, he survived...but lost his hearing in one ear because of the bad accident. This happened maybe two years ago.

So yeah...sorry for rambling, but I'm just super upset. The house was abandoned because they defaulted on the loan. They, apparently, didn't pay back any of the money and the money they did get from the reverse mortgage was used for unnecessary things, like trips, clothes, etc. They splurged these past five years and lost the money. How irresponsible can you be? The dogs were left behind, but someone was apparently coming by and feeding them and giving them water. This was worrying my parents, though.

Yesterday, it was super hot back home. Someone had come to cut the grass in the backyard. The dogs were sitting on the deck, but with their leashes on (something that's not common)...but I'm assuming this was done to prevent them running out with the fence's door open. The guy left after cutting the grass. leaving the door wide open and the dogs tied up.

Later on, my parents heard the dog barking...not ours, but one of the neighbor's. My mother was worried and my father too. My mother asked him to go check on them and to make sure they had water given the temperatures and it was unusual that the dog was barking so much. My father went over, saw that the water thing was empty. He filled it, and the other one drank like it hadn't for a while. The other dog wasn't moving. He accidentally hung himself when trying to get off of the patio...probably to go underneath the deck for water and shade. Those dogs were always energetic. They always jumped from the porch and stuff. I'm just super super super annoyed that this all happened. I'm heartbroken that I won't see those dogs again. When my father discovered it, my mom called the police and then the neighbors came back and talked with the cop. They took the other dog with them. Just a few days ago, my mother was talking about waning to take the dogs in herself and have them stay in our yard so that our dog could have a playmate more often. I wish they could've. My parents were keeping a bit of an eye on them, though, which was how they noticed that they were being fed and stuff.

I'm annoyed that the daughter and her kids let this happen. It's just weird....I grew up with the oldest one...I used to babysit the younger ones when they were in elementary school. Used to have them and the dogs come to our house sometimes...it's just....surreal? The nice couple who lived there...I'm sure both are spinning in their graves.

Obviously, it was definitely an accident, but they should've tied them up tothe porch, on the bottom step in the front yard while the backyard was being cut. This was very preventable.

I'm sorry for rambling...I think I just needed to vent someplace and I'd rather do that here than on something like Facebook or whatever.

So my gear grinds....family mistreatment, irresponsibility to that extent, and animal negligence.

Yeah, you probably should have written down his plate and called the cops on his @$$. I would have been out that door in a millisecond to get that kitten out. It's probably dead by now and that infuriates me.
