I just realized something if this follows the first movie then in the toy picture of movie Shredder, Saki doesn't any scars on his face (the ones he got from Splinter and from being crushed in the garbage can if they follow the second movie as well.) Perhaps more evidence Shredhead appears at the end?

We've discussed this a million times and been told by Murphy and I think Kevin that Shredder will NOT be in the movie. He will be in the game. NOT the movie.

The movie = NO SHREDDER
The game = Shredder

Kevin Munroe: Then we have The Foot ninja coming back as well... After Shredder has been defeated. That's kind of the core notion... That it's down to the family, post-Shredder. But we're not saying that he's gone forever. We've already started talking about the sequel and stuff... I love... I'm a huge fan of the City At War mini-series, about what happens after the death of Shredder. It's so cool.

Yeah, and yet even though they may deny it millions of times like a story element from Batman Begins, funny how things turn out to be true in the end. He's been asked this question in EVERY single interview and in every single interview Kevin has to clear it up that Shredder ain't the main villain his legacy is one of them (being the Foot).


I know the Shredder isn't going to be the MAIN villain of the pic, that's Max Winters and whatever big bad he summons. However, that doesn't mean they'll have him appear via flashback or more than likely at the end.

And come on how can fans of the Shredder not be hanging on the fact that Munroe himself teases with things like this on AICN:

We've got all the Turtles coming back. We have Shr... I mean, Splinter coming back. I almost said Shredder, but he's not coming back.

And for me.. that's all I need to hear to know that Shredder is going to be in the movie in a small role but his presence will be felt through Karai and the Foot.

I'm not spoiling for any fight I just wanted to say, "Hey.. if they're following the movie shouldn't Saki be scarred? Unless.." That's all.

I'm pretty convinced that Shredder isnt going to be in this movie, but its possiblw that Kevin was trying to spell something out by saying the Shredder isnt "coming back"...guess we'll just have to wait and see. I'm just happy hes in the game.

If this is still loosely following TMNT 1-2 canon I wonder if April will still be a reporter?

couldn't shredder be portrayed by karai, so technically he could be in it, u never know what they might throw at ya, haha, and i loved it in the comic when raph posed as shredder for a while, so if u want to get technical, anyone could be shredder and therefore could be in the movie (that's a lot of technical stuff, lol sorry)

I know I'd like to see Karai as Shredder. So long as she says awesome and kicks trash. I love the new 'toon, but Karai's Lady Shredder gig was kinda pathetic.

The abstract for April's prequel comic suggests that she is an antiques dealer. But, that doesn't mean that she isn't both that and a reporter. ^_^

Well, yeah. I didn't want to say anything because it's a woman being threatening by the same measures as a man. That's a very good thing (for female equality). But, it just seemed a tad boring because it was such a flash-in-the-pan. It was foreshadowed in "Bad Day", and wasn't touched on again until the cliff/max in "Scion of the Shredder"/"Prodigal Son". Then, that's it. There was no more reason to fear the she-Shredder. WTF? But, in as much as they didn't have her boobs obviously pronounced by the breast plate, like the storyboards suggested was the original intention, I was satisfied with what we got.

With April being an antiques dealer, and the includion of karai, it seems to be following the new series (minus FF) more than the movies. (Not complaining I love the series)

Will the movie explain how Karai is linked to the Shredder or will they assume the audience has been watching the cartoon and not expecting an Archie flashback?

the official site's abstract of April's prequel book says that she gets drawn into the world of illegal antiquities trading, they don't specifically say what her profession is. However, the recent articles I've read about the film say that she will be a 'researcher'. However, I can guarantee you that this is in no way a continuation of a TV series. It will be a continuation of the live-action movies, but possibly no more than Superman Returns was a continuation of the Christopher Reeve Superman adventures.

Doesn't surprise me. I think he will probably be resurrected though at the end or something. But just because they made a toy doesn't ensure he will be in it. He will be in the game however. And I think Laird likes that new Shredder look because he used in in Volume 4 too.

I hope he's ressurected. Maybe it will end with Shredder's resurrection, setting up the sequel.
