Testors is what I use, or would be using if I hadn't lost all my paints.
Good, now I can sleep tonight, I've upped my post count today.

Cool. Thanks fellas.
My wife gave me a Testors airbrush kit for Christmas. Maybe it will see some duty. I have a Ghengis Frog that needs a repaint due to chipping. Hmmm.....

i would test it out on someting with no value at all before you start doing work like that. Like a crappy gijoe or a star wars figure. Something cheap and crappy...

The paint I used to customize Breyer model horses were the craft store acrylic paints. Of course, you have to use a couple other things with this, since it chips easy. I had to put on a white gesso primer coat so the acrylic had something to adhere too. Then after letting the acrylic coat dry, I put on a matte varnish to give it an even better protective finsih.
But.... that testors paint sounds like a better idea when it comes to repainting action figures... mmm... |

my main reason for picking up some testors was the paint the ugly brown weapons. it was a lot thinner than i was expecting, but after a few coats, it looks good!
however, then when i tried to get the turtle to hold his weapon, it just peeled off on his fingers. any tips? |

here's a tip, don't paint the joint or anywhere that would cause friction cuz you're not gonna be able to paint that area due to peeling off.

I've also been using Testors brand. Seal the paint with a coat or 2 of gloss enamel overcoat. Works wonders for me. There are two kinds High Gloss and Flat Gloss. Both work great for sealing in the paint.

well, i gave it a shot hehe. what do you think of leo's new swords?
![]() a little clunky at parts. mostly where i held onto it too long, and then the paint tried to peel off, so i did my best to seal it back on with more paint! hehe live and learn =) |

if you dont get too close to them, you cant really see anything wrong, and im happy with how they look overall. btw, what colors make brown? thanks. up next - raph's sais! hehe *edit* got his sais done. they were a pain in the ass (well, painting the bottom part). ended up getting a few fingerprints on these as well hehe. but once again, i think they look snazzy enough =)

Nice Shredder! Not too much more to say!
And I couldn't find any of my old paints so I just went out and bought some more... and hopefully I'll post some pictures soon of my customs.

YES! This is exactly what i wanted to happen, people are getting into customs. I'm so happy now, what we have to do now is try and get a whole forum for just customs, that way when someone has something new we don't need to scroll through 3 pages of a thread each custom can have it's own thread and we can comment on each custom. This would be a dream. I'll email krang about it.

got casey done today! i was really sick of that awful green duffel bag, so i painted it, and his weapons. theres alot of "touching up" that could be done on his bag (you pervert, not like that), but its good enough, plus id have a hard time getting remixing the brown to match well with the old colors, since i just rinse out my mixing tray after im done with it. plus, i dont have any really thin brushes, so thats why im "out of the lines" a number of places, but i still love how it looks now =)
