Honestly, I hope the writers really take advantage of the library and mythology that is accessible through the worlds of both the Archie comics and the original cartoon. Especially If the writers really want to milk and expand upon this "mutation in progress" tagline that is being thrown around.

Here you have not only interesting characters but fantastic story ideas that really have potential to drive not only story arcs but stand alone episodes as well. It most likely won't happen but I would love to see this version be full of serialization and continuity.

Ever since I was a child I was fascinated with the idea of mutants and anthropomorphic animals. I loved transformation and origin stories and because of this I gravitated to the various mutant characters that were presented to us. My only complaint was that they weren't used to their full potential. It would have been wonderful to see an expanded universe of the mutants and their effect on the world.

You had characters from the toy line such as Ace Duck, Ray Fillet, Wyrm, Pizza Face, Panda Khan, Srgt. Bananas and Walkabout who were neither given an origin or an episode to appear. Don't tell me that there were no interesting stories to tell about a mutant duck fighter pilot, a villainous pizza chef and an evil sewer worm. The possibilities for those three alone were endless.

In the original cartoon, characters such as Mondo Gecko, Mona Lisa, Muckman, Ray, Anti-Turtle squad and even the two remaining punk frogs were completely dropped. Mondo Gecko and Muckman could have been further developed and helped cement life in the sewer with characters such as Rat King, Wrym and Scumbug running about. Mona Lisa could have become both a ally and love interest to the turtles and we could see her grow as she adjusted to becoming a mutant. Ray and the Anti-Turtle squad could have returned to cause havoc. The Anti-Turtle squad in particular would have made a great recurring enemy and even Dirk Savage could have emerged as the leader.

I would love to see the following characters from the toy line, original cartoon and Archie continuity return and hopefully develop.

Original Cartoon:
Punk Frogs, Mondo Gecko, Mona Lisa, Muckman, Metalhead, Ray, Anti-Turtle squad, Groundchuck, Dirtbag, Bebop, Rocksteady, Krang, General Tragg, Granitor and Rat King

Archie Comics:
Mighty Mutanimals, Ninjara, Warrior Dragon, Al Falqua, Katmandu, Slash, Null, Maligna, Scull & Bean, Kid Terra, Armaggon, Verminator X, Uncanny Trio, Four Horseman, Wrym, Scumbug and Mammoth.

Toy Line:
Ace Duck, Panda Khan, Srgt. Bananas, Walkabout, Pizza Face and Wyrm,

I also would love to see Mutagen Man return as I saw him as a tragic character but he is rather limited. It would be nice to fit Keno in there somewhere and he could be the de facto pizza boy or something.

Wheh, this is a long post. My apologies. Maybe I should get into this fan fiction I hear so much about

I'm not opposed to a lot of the Archie/Fred Wolf characters...as long as they are well done.

So Soooooo many characters that I would love to see in the new show, Bebop and Rocksteady for sure but maybe have them abit more of a match for the turtles. Slash (the archie version), The Mutanimals. But how good would an episode be where the turtles take part in a stump wrestling match!

In the early eps of the OT series, am I the only one who didn't feel that Rocksteady and Bebop weren't particularly stupid but gradually became stupid so that they'd be more like comedy relief characters 100%? Seems in the beginning, the Turtles had a tough time fighting them because of their strength.

Definitely!! When B & R fought the turtles at the zoo they were holding their own. Raph even said "Man there's no stopping these guys!". And had to out smart them to win. But you're right dude the later the season the more "DUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHH MISTAH SHREDDERRRRRR".

Still.......you gotta love em.

Definitely. They were adorable characters, if you can call them that. I still loved how they used that ray and overpowered Krang and Shredder and the Turtles.

Guess that'd be nice to see. The return of the infamous duo, only more like their early selves as opposed to their later clumsy selves.
