Already got it. It's awesome. Though I had to specifically ask for it a few weeks prior since, while the IDW TMNT are flying off the shelves, noone seemed to care about the Infestation crossover... even the TMNT issues. I liked the story and the mystery feel to it, though the art style was kinda/sorta offputting in a way. I got used to it, but like... I don't know. I think that due to the art style we didn't get a clear depiction of the monster they fought.

Actually, I'll cop the blame for that one -- I was very deliberate in the script about not letting people see anything properly. Two of my favourite films and actually my two favourite HORROR films are are Jaws and Alien, and you never ever get to see all of the creature. Jaws to a lesser extent than Alien, but you get the idea. Lovecraft was also very concerned with giving you an idea of something rather than showing you something, which in my mind will always be scarier.

I totally agree. It's what you DON'T see that is scary. Kinda like that movie Signs. I was terrified the first few times you see that alien leg and shadow on the rooftop. By the end of the movie when they're fighting it, it just isn't scary anymore.

Ah, yes, back in the days when horror/thrillers didn't try to cram CGI creatures down our throats but simply let the cinematography speak for itself!

I actually read the issue last night and enjoyed it a lot. Definitely not a Mirage tale, but would have fit nicely even in that universe.

The art was very reminiscent of Mike Mignola in places, but a bit inconsistent in spots: page 4, Don's missing his left arm at the shoulder, page 18 (IIRC) Leo is shown with his right arm holding his blade but the hand is drawn with the knuckles facing the reader. I suppose it could be construed as his hand being upside-down but that wouldn't make sense in regards to the surrounding panels.

All in all, though, a very enjoyable issue, I liked the little nods here and there to tales past and even the OT.

Good job yet again, Tristan!

Really liked this issue, It would have been so much better in B&W than color. Not saying anything bad about the coloring, its just based on the classic horror elements of the script would have been awesome to see it in B&W.

Either way though really enjoyed the darker side of TMNT.

Finally read it just now. Not a complete story, of course, but wildly enjoyable. Tristan definitely captured the voices of the Turtles and things were suitably creepy.

Thanks bro! The things I left out weren't that big a deal. People seem to be under the impression there was a lot of heavy cutting, but it was mainly gags I cut back myself and little bits and pieces just to give it a bit more focus (Bobby did make some pretty rad suggestions, too). 22 pages is a tighter squeeze than Tales' 30 somethings!
I had a joke that ran on WAY too long about how Raph and Mike obtain food, and the MONEY to buy food, and another where Mike finds Don asleep at the start and uses his bo to wake him up. I also had a bit of extra dialogue from Miller, but nothing important. Oh, and there was going to be a quick bit with Ace Duck being a Nazi-smasher along the lines of the Rocketeer on TV. That was pretty much it. Nothing important or game changing in any way. It was certainly the same story pretty much from the start.

That's an interesting thought... Though having Jay on board got Mark and I VERY excited, and we both really dig what he's done with it!
