Just to double check with everyone, TMNT the comic is indeed about anthromorphic turtles, isn't it? And doesn't this series have anthropomorphic foxes, tigers, jaguars, wolves, etc.? On a technical level, yes, TMNT would be considered "furry". Just double checking that I'm reading the same comic as the anti furry people.

Pretty sure that Blacksad, falls into this category too.

There's a lot of cool stuff out there that features "furry" characters, TMNT included.

Actually, The Turtles would fall under the category of Scalies. Like furries, Scalies are anthropomorphic creatures that are reptile or amphibian.

When I use the term "furry," I'm talking about furry porn, which means presenting anthropomorphic characters as masturbatory fodder. TMNT has typically dealt with anthropomorphic characters' sexual proclivities tastefully, acknowledging that these characters have biological drives without pandering (at least any more than the average comic).

If you want to know what real "furry" is, Google image search for Sonic the Hedgehog fan-art with safe search turned off, and feel your soul weep.

Furry is pretty much like any other fandom. Most of it is normal people, while a tiny percentage of it gives everyone else a bad reputation. Same happens with bronies, anime fans, Homestuck fans, gamers, etc. Since I do draw animal people (although no, I don't consider myself a furry and I don't draw porn )and have a few friends that do participate in the furry community, I can tell you it's not all porn. But I am well aware of what is lurking in the darker corners of the internet in pretty much every fandom. That's why I keep safe search on when I use google!
