I loved it XD they should listen to Mikey more often! his comic book was pretty much a spoiler all the way through could have saved them some trouble.

also the Mikey and Raph bromance......it's the best!! he said "little brother"!!! so cute!

I loved the part when they were in the room. It was awesome to see them having a mini-party.

This is the first time where any of the Turtles has called Mikey "Little Brother" outside of the comic books based off the series.

Meh just another mutant filler. Glad no human was mutated but all these eps feel the same just with different jokes.

This is going to be a season of mutants.

I actually enjoyed this episode. It reminded me of my old fear of squirrels when I was young (I am not ashamed to admit that). It is pretty obvious that the squirrelanoids are based off of Scott Ridley's "Alien" movies series.

Nick is crossing the line of grossness and suspense of this show and I'm loving it. They also remind me of the Pizza Monsters from "The Case of the Killer Pizzas", of whom were also based off of aliens. Did anyone also get a "Notes From the Underground" vibe when Mikey kept referencing his horror media to his brothers?

it indeed will be the season of mutants so if you don't care for it, I'd advise you brace yourself for mutagen impact XD

:3 I happen to like the mutant part of the show XD I like it more than the Kraang plot actually. (not that that's not cool)

TECHNICALLY it's not filler since the premise of the season is that Mutagen has been released all over the city...

Well, yeah...that's kinda the point. They gotta sell those toys, you know

I have to say that this was not one of my favorite episodes mainly for the fact that the squirrels entered someone's mouth, resided in there for a short bit, then were puked out and multiplied. But other than that little thing, I did like the rest of it. I loved how Mikey pretty much solved the problem and used his comic books to do so, proving that reading is a good thing. Also loved the glimpses into Mikey's room, and I hope we see more of the Turtles' rooms, too. We know the Squirrelanoids will be back at some point, and they were pretty freaky, too. Overall, an okay episode but not one that ranks as one of my favorites. It was a good thing I didn't eat during this one.

Favorite quotes:

Raph: I think I just got shelllash.

Leo: You're going to laugh your whiskers off when you hear this.

Splinter: What is going on here? I was in deep meditation to drown out your noise and--Is that a chipmunk?
Leo: It's a squirrel. A deadly mutant squirrel that goes into people's stomachs and multiplies.
Splinter: *sighs* I should have been in a deeper trance.

Splinter: I do not want to say I was right, but I was right.

Raph: Since when do you wear tighty whiteys?
Mikey: That, my friend, is a story for another day.

Raph: I'm glad you didn't get flushed, little brother.

And that's all I remember. See you next week, guys.

great ep! The comic parts were really funny. Circo and the team must be having so much fun making up ideas for new episodes I wonder if they can actually keep a strait face while talking about them?

You know, if it weren't for last episode, I would consider this one to be perfectly decent. There's one particular scene, which upon reflection, is rather appalling--the turtles' prank on the infected Raph, who is at the time in legitimate and perfectly understandable distress--but aside from that and the general sloppiness, it'd be okay.

As a follow-up to last episode, however? The one where the turtles once again learn that their lack of discipline can have horrible consequences, and maybe the world would maaaaaybe be better served if they could actually take things with a smidgen of seriousness? Rather frustrating, to be honest. It'd be one thing if this were explicitly an universe in which their behavior doesn't have larger consequences (see: Teen Titans Go!) but as last episode showed, the writers insist on both showing us that 1) yes, their actions do have consequences, and 2) no, they don't particularly care. And while that's fine on The Sopranos, it doesn't really work for characters which are meant to be seen as heroic, which is clearly what is happening here.

Well you have to remember the crazey homeless guy said it was chasing him for days. So I can easy see this as a 3 if that was true. Plus seeing as this episode work so well for Halloween they may have what to show it sooner then later.

You know I just realized that this is the first episode of the series where Mike's love for comic books is brought in.

There were only three. The squirrels needed a stomach (and presumably popcorn) to multiply.

The first squirrel multiplied inside the hobo, splitting into two. Of those two, one was trapped under a milk crate by Splinter and didn't split. The other one multiplied inside Raph's stomach. 3 total squirrels.

Great episode overall, love the pacing and the fact that Mikey got the "Game over man, game over!" line I would have been happy if any of them had said it but to give it to Mikey really made me smile. With all they hinted at in This episode now I really can't wait for the mythical "second episode" since I could see them tacking that squirrel bit onto the first one last minis when they realized Nickelodeon was airing their Halloween specials week earlier than they expected.

I thought the same thing. I was hoping it was going to be a nice little reference to "The River" trilogy from the first volume of Mirage comics. Unfortunately the fact that the third (and possibly original) squirrel was not exposed to Raph's DNA and still evolved (like a Pokemon) from mutant squirrel to squirrelanoid means it has to have been another factor besides incubating inside a mutant host.

Unfortunately that line is the one line which really cements this as the third episode and not the second. The casual way that Donatello brings up the retro-mutagen and no other turtles questions it means that there must have existed an earlier conversation addressing the topic. Which means that the "lost" episode probably addressed him converting the radar tracker to a mutagen canister tracker, them collecting some of the canisters already and the episode culminating in a trap once the foot or one of the other villains out there took notice of their quest (though i could also see the trap line as reference to what happened with the Biodroid). Still the hope that all that information which was glossed over exists in some form in an episode and that hope is what really makes me look forward to Nov. 2nd.

This was ep. 3? But at the end of the last one, it hinted this one.
