Sacks outplayed his role in the movie, he revealed he killed Mr. O'Neil, and met his end. I'd rather much have Baxter, since he actually was in the movie, be the figure head of the company, maybe try to clean up Sacks mess and save some company face.

I'm still going on my theory that Baxter had known about Kraang and was secretly helping him behind Sachs' and O'Neil's backs. I also have this theory that if the Utroms try to take over the world, that somehow they're going to...I dunno, MERGE the two dimensions so that this world becomes the new Dimension X.

......c'mon, you know you've heard stupider plots.

Honestly I seen Fichtner in a few things and thought he was decent but the positive reaction to his casting even by those who otherwise disliked the idea of a white Shredder on the basis of what a great actor he is I assumed I must have missed him in stuff that showed off his talent.

After seeing him in TMNT I still feel I've missed him in stuff that showed his talent. He's okay throughout most of the movie until the scene were he's explaining his plan to the caged turtles - it seems really off and then when he's brandishing the gun at April and Vern is the body language and delivery just seem weird.

To be generous I'll assume it's the writing but to be honest if he's not the Shredder he really doesn't have a role in a sequel. I've never gotten the appeal of making him Krang or an Utrom or similar alien creature. I think it's best just let this character lie.

Exactly. Everyone seems so intent on making him this and that just to keep him around. Why bother? Cut him loose and put the focus on actual tmnt characters. Hell, Sachs felt more developed than the turtles themselves. That's all kinda of wrong already.

My assumption is that his three movie deal still counts for something, and they wouldn't just kick him off of two movies because of some last-minute rewrites. Weren't people saying he's Bay's pal, after all?

Well you know how movie deals go sometimes, even though he says he's signed a three movie deal...that could've very well changed.

I mean, he did agree to this movie with the assumption he was playing Shredder after all. We'll have to wait and see.

I just hope they do something with him, if not I'd be pretty mad and it'd make the first movie look worse retroactively.

Yeah, just for example the whole "Superman Returns" cast were all signed on for a trilogy, and for a solid four years that was the plan, until one day a few guys at WB switched offices and priorities changed. Stuff happens. Often abruptly. Sometimes for no reason.

IF for any reason they didn't make sequels to TMNT after all, or in the case they did make sequels but decided not to bring Fichtner's character back, all it would really mean, most likely, is that Fichtner would owe two more movies to Platinum Dunes before a certain amount of years went by. That's what happens most times. Otherwise, they'd just settle up with him for X amount of dollars and call the whole thing even, which also happens.

Let's not forget, they could have his character out of the picture but still appear in flashback scenes throughout the next two movies. That's pretty likely if you think about it.

There's also a slim outside chance Platinum Dunes could take another look at the receipts a year from now and decide to not do sequels after all. It's not likely, but it could happen. Literally hundreds of movies are "absolutely definitely" going to happen "within the next two years or so", and from Bill and Ted 3 to the second film in the Friday the 13th reboot series and a million others, we're still waitin'. If that unlikely scenario went down, everybody involved would more or less just get paid to go do something else. That's the biz.

Literally a hundred things could happen. My predicted scenario is, they do the sequel, Sacks is killed off or whatever, but still appears in flashbacks for the second film (and the third if there is one). They put a lot of work into forcing his character into things just to sh*tcan it all. That's what I see as being most likely: Off the table as an active character, but having a big hand in past events that are directly impacting the story in the present-time. Kinda like how Ra's was only in "Batman Begins" but everything that happened across three movies was more or less because of him. That's what I see them doing.

It may be a pipe dream, but I would like to see the Shredder sit the next one out. If they used Stockman or Krang as the villain, it would make sense to keep Sachs heavily involved. But the way they do comic book movies, I have no reason to think they wouldn't pile on the villains and involve Shredder, no matter what.

True but giving the movie to Baxter or Krang kinda gives even less of a reason for him to be in it. They don't need him. Baxter could easily take over and call Sach's company Stocktronics.

I just don't get why everyone is so overly concerned about Fitchner? There's even a topic or two of wanting Megan replaced as someone else to play April, but Sachs? Oh no, we MUST simply have him in the sequel. It's nonsense.

this is where id want them to go. Sack's role in this universe is basically the same as stockmans anyway. Why bother with a random original character when there's an established iconic one who serves the same purpose that you can use instead.

Baxter work(s) for Sachs, and Sachs experiments on the ooze that may be from Dimension X. It's reasonable to think he would be involved in Baxter or Krang plot.

Plus, it's a fair question. This actor was supposed to play the central villain in a trilogy. Now his role has changed. We don't have a ton to speculate about, but I think this is an interesting question. I don't see any reason to think Megan Fox will be replaced, but this could really go either way.

I'm wondering. Was Megan also signed up to be April for the trilogy?

I agree that the two characters are pretty similar, and I was really bummed that Baxter really wasn´t a part of the movie. However, I can appreciate if they add a new character and Sachs was a nice character. But as said, they need to evolve the character in order to keep him in the sequels, or else he could easily end up being a boring an pointless character. I would have been happy if they just sticked to the plot about creating super soldiers, and Baxter could be working directly under Sachs, who would work under Shredder in creating the super soldiers. It wasn´t necessary to add another purpose for Sachs being interested in the mutagen just because he no longer was Shredder, which just ruined part of the plot. He could simply just be working under Shredder. This could be a nice way to have introduced Baxter in the first movie in order for him to take over the company, as Coola Yagami suggested. It would be nice to see Baxter "loosing in" in the sequel, gradually being more and more mad turning him into the dangerous villain he is. But they of course don´t need Sachs for this to happen in the next movie, unless the plot includes Baxter killing Sachs or turning him into something else with the mutagen.

since Baxter Stockman was in the movie, blink and you'll miss him though. Sacks was pretty pointless from the start.
