I have literally nothing to complain about.
This trailer blew my mind and then some. Looks like Finn's about to get his ass whooped.

Seriously, I'm not even going to nitpick because there's nothing to nitpick. The use of practical and CGI effects is just breathtaking, and the cinematography is just awesome. This definitely has the potential to be the best Star Wars movie so far.

As for the villain? Stop. We haven't seen the movie yet. We don't know Kylo's history or why he's obsessed with Vader. Not to mention, who wouldn't be obsessed with Vader?

Somebody on the design team is a fan of Portal, 'cause this dude looks a lot like Peabody.

The second teaser is stilly my favorite trailer. After a few views this one got much better than my initial reaction to it it just can't compare to the nostalgia of the second teaser.

Finn/Girl/Kylo all get great introductions here and all look like interesting characters. I don't care Kylo is Vader clone, he's still awesome. I'm guessing they'll flesh him out though and he'll become a very interesting villain if he survives the whole trilogy, I can only see him being generic if he's killed in this movie. I'm not too happy that this movie seems to be too similar to the OT. I mean we saw how much the universe changed in a few years after the PT and you're telling me 30 years later the universe hasn't changed much? I don't like the "it's all real" so the OT was for nothing? The Jedi are still basically extinct? boring, I don't want to retread old ground.

This movie does seem to be "playing it safe" with so many elements similar to the original trilogy. People complained the prequels had no Storm Troopers but Battle Droids, there were no Tie fighters, etc....and this movie is closer to the originals.

Another Death Star, Storm Troopers, a Darth Vader-esque character, the Milennium Falcon dodging Tie fighters, etc. Looks all really good and nostalgic, but I hope it doesn't give a rehashed feeling.

I'm excited though, the trailer showed far more emotion and passion than anything in the prequel trilogy. I think I'm going to love Rey and Finn too.

I thought you didn't read EU stuff... probably true since Admiral Thrawn was from novels, not comics.

In my opinion, that was well worth the wait. I love how they've shown so much of the story without spoiling anything or giving away any major plot points. After this, I think I'll be holding off from the ads because I want to be surprised when I see it.

Also, I love how it looks like an actual movie with acting in it.

I saw the trailer during the NFL halftime show so I was still mulling it as I went to bed afterwards. Yep, as said, JJ not letting much out of the box there, but it gives us some insights into the main characters, and a bit of exposition from Han. Looks like in the 20 years since the Empire "fell", details about the Jedi Order have been suppressed, or clouded as misinformation, if Rey and Finn are not aware of the validity of what Han is telling them. I'm guessing that's what Han's role in the film will be, to get them to where they need to go and "enlighten" them that everything they heard was true.

I don't think I could've said it better myself. This movie really is playing it safe, but honestly, with the reaction the prequels got, it doesn't surprise me at all. I'm really happy that they're going with this hybrid of original trilogy and something new all together.

The prequels never captured Star Wars. They never felt real, nor did they feel like an adventure movie. Also, I'm loving the marketing. This still felt like some sort of teaser, but it was satisfying to watch.

I'm not a fan of Star Wars. But that trailer... huh. That actually looks pretty good. I was already curious, but hmmmm. I might sneak out of the house come December to watch this.

And I think the concept of Vader being used as a martyr by the Empire is pretty badass.

Anyone think Rey and Finn will have a romance? There's always a love story in Star Wars movies, with Han/Leia in the original and Anakin/Padme. There's always a shipping subplot to keep the female fans interested because they tend not to like sci-fi.

It would be nice to see more interracial romances in big movies, so Rey/Finn would probably work well. They look around the same age too which I suspect the casting was done on purpose.

Plenty of females like sci-fi. My wife is almost as big a fan of Star Trek and Doctor Who as I am, plus I successfully introduced her to TMNT. My sisters are all huge Whovians, too.

Stereotypically, girls might not have been all that into sci-fi a generation ago. These days, though, doesn't really hold water.

I'm sure with Rey being a female lead it will attract many girl fans to the franchise who never watched Star Wars before. Shipping is mostly aimed at female fans too. While guys like romances in movies/TV too, its not that big a deal for us.

I mean the movie has a female lead and a black co-star, its definitely not the typical all white cast you'd expect. I'm glad they went this route.

Seriously.

The actual movie trailers have been fine but everything else star wars related? Makes me want to vomit.

That one Wal-Mart Star Wars ad with people telling kids about Star Wars in a totally "LOL" way and don't get me started on the man children pandering in the new BattleFront ad. Better buy the new red-arm C3PO and form memories with your kid! Star Wars...Ooooh the history and the MEMORIES all of these manufactured memories that you need to buy!

But yeah! Movie looks fun though.

Agreed. Princess Leia never really did much in the movies, except be the typical "princess in need of rescue." Rey seems pretty badass. And Finn... as long as he survives that lightsaber duel, I expect great things from him.

Man it would suck for the black main character to die (at least that soon).....hopefully he finds a way to win...or at least escape from his duel. or maybe Rey will give him a hand~

I don't see any way Finn doesn't make it out of Episode VII alive.

I'd be pretty pissed if he didn't. Boyega is awesome.

Its rather obvious Rey and Finn are the new heroes who will survive the entire new trilogy. Also unlike Qui Gonn there's no reason to kill off a popular character so a new character can become a Jedi.
