But still being paid less than half the buffoons surrounding you. I know that feel.

Actually I get slightly more than most of them- because I've been there longer and am very good at what I do. Could have gone into management but "been there dine that" so NEVER AGAIN. It's just stress-inducing to be the first one in the door and get stuck doing tasks that others would be doing if they bothered to show up, as well as my usual duties. During a breakfast rush at that.

Pretty scary what that could lead to if that became the norm.
Applicants need to be absurdly careful whenever applications are to be filled online, as there are a lot of 'red flag' responses that are programmed into those online applications, and it only takes a few chosen 'wrong answers'.

Before long, the hopeful job-seeker on their computer is ree-jected.

It helps to go to the job-site in person. That way an potential applicant can see the place for him/herself, and ask the supervisor / manager some job-related questions, other than "How much do you pay?"

It might give the applicant an 'edge' as to what kind of responses are to be chosen on the online application(s).

Yeah.

I've got another phone interview tomorrow but it's with a place I'm not as 100% sold on. If anything I can just use this to boost my confidence with interviewing skills. Guess we'll see. Thanks for reaching out to me though!

Good luck on the interview, dude. I know how rejection feels because I've been there and done that and felt so horrible about it. But an opportunity will come along someday. Just keep your chin up.

Gear grinder: Dad woke me up at four in the morning and he didn't even need anything. Not cool.

Ah, yeah... 'death & taxes,' unrequited love, and job application rejections... the four depressing life things most are going to experience.

I've been THATCLOSE as well, after being jobless for a while, it seemed really really good and they seemed to like me a lot. And then... nothing. Called them up and was informed that they went with someone else. But at least they seemed to legitimately feel bad about having to let me down.

Grind... This mother of mine. If I could smack her upside the head with some self awareness and consideration of others (particularly of me since she's rarely as rude to anyone else) I would. Out of the house for 6 1/2 hours working my tail off at work, it's hard to appreciate getting home and the first thing out of her mouth is "You're home already?" And I've heard this quite a number of times.

Because it's retail and part time (though my total weekly hours are frequently not that far from full time and some shifts are in fact full-time length or longer) my schedule is never the same week to week. I could kind of understand her saying that on the rare occasion I'd have a really short shift, like three hours. But more than that? Wtf, thanks. (Though that is just rude anyway you look at it.)

Given her habit of taking incredibly long when she goes out shopping (like this woman could seriously browse Walmart for three hours after supposedly gong there for very little), and she doesn't like that it does annoy others at times, esp if they've gone with her... I swear the next time she's been out of the house for many hours I really need to just throw that line back at her and see how rude she takes it. Who says this to their own child... Certainly my sister has never heard it though.

the visit at the dentist office cost me $370, but at least it wasn't as painful as the last time I had cavities since I said yes to local anesthetics.

but damn, it was a close call on the monthly budget, I barely have enough money to fill up my buss fare card since it's running out today. And that's the end of my money until the next paycheck, luckily I can shop on credit at my job so I won't starve

Good thing I postponed the student debt payment for this.

Thank you! It's at 3:30 today and I'm hoping it goes smoothly, but I won't be torn apart if nothing comes of it since there isn't as much of an investment like the previous interviews I've had. I just really hate being unemployed.

You're welcome. Sometimes you have to look at other options if what you want isn't available. I've decided I would like to get into writing and use that as a career since it's a passion I've had for a long time. No other job would suit me and as of now, there's just no way I can do anything since I have to take care of Dad now.

I can't find the pictures from when one of my cats was a kitten. I can find from the fall when she was bigger, but not from The Spring Of Too Many Cats.

I used to be able to find them, but I can't anymore and I don't know where they are. And it's freaking me out.

Doesn't help that I'm finding pictures of Scooter when he was little, considering he's been gone for a week tomorrow.

Action-figures that won't stand up. I was watching TV when I heard a loud thud, followed by a cascade of clattering plastic noises coming from my study. To the best of my forensic ability, it appears as though a McFarlane Alien figure dive-bombed some stuff on a lower shelf, pushing a Terminator endoskeleton and friends, over the edge and into a pile of art supplies.

McFarlane used to get a lot of grief for the lack of articulation in their figures, and occasionally they would try to compensate by going totally overboard on something. The Alien in question has about a billion joints in its legs, including some roly-poly, ball jointed ankles that never want to stay put.

That I wasn't able to get my hair cut again because the lady had two many people to do and she was the only one there. So frustrating!

Lol! I feel you, man. I have the same issue with the "Classic" Movie TMNT SotO figs. No problems at all with Mikey, but Don and Leo both have a habit of diving off the top of my pc tower, or dropping their weapons after even the tiniest vibration anywhere in the vicinity. And if one goes, he usually takes the other two with him. (Mikey is by the monitor the others are all on the tower. Leo and Raph are back to back with Don in the front.)

Okay so for the last year and a half since I got my nice apartment, every now and then I have to endure the sounds of screaming police/ambulance/fire sirens. There's not really much I can do in regard to them, because they're presence is much needed and appreciated. However what's more annoying is that every few hours or so I hear someone beep their car horn, and I'm pretty sure whoever does that is parked here in the development. I'm surprised I've yet to hear a neighbor or someone scream out:
"HEY @$$HOLE, QUIT BEATING YOUR DAMN HORN ALREADY!!!" I have a right mind to do it myself, but I don't wanna run the risk of getting evicted.

The most recent episode of Call the Midwife.

Spoiler:
You get me all excited for Shelagh getting pregnant against all odds with her age and TB and then you leave us hanging with the potential of her having a mid-term miscarriage?!

Also, how Sister Ursula just came in went. Wrecked havoc on the Nonnatus System...probably partially responsible for Shelagh miscarrying because of the stress imposed on her, on top of the 20 minute visits that nearly caused a mother and baby to die because there wasn't time to examine them fully. And realize after that "Oh yeah, maybe their way IS perfectly efficient." Yeah, f*** you, lady and bye. I'd say don't let the door hit you on your way out, but you left it open as you departed.

UPDATE:
I recend that! Crisis averted!

Amazon UK market place sellers that don't ship to US.

Early 90s Hero Turtles Atlas... omg I want this thing. Listing for "very good" condition "looks almost unread," from seller with 100% feedback, but us dirty Americans aren't allowed to have it.

Insert dramatic "Whyyyyyyy...."

Well I suppose it gives me something to hunt down sooner or later... Not sure what the shipping would have been on this anyhow, but sucks having a decent and seemingly affordable copy out of reach.

Also, I'd appreciate if Factory Entertainment would at least update their expected delivery period estimate on the item I'd ordered and make it known. I don't mind being patient (for the last 10 1/2 months) and get that pre-order collectables sometimes take a bit (I mean a limited quantity of 600 replica swords is no doubt going to take a while to make), but waiting around for an unknown and invisible target date kinda sucks. The page for it continued to suggest they were expected last summer until it turned sold out in early Jan. *twiddles thumbs* An Amazon seller had it listed as in stock Feb. 28th I think (until it just recently turned unavailable and no longer says), so hoping maybe that was a legit expectation...? If so... then supposedly they sent notice two weeks in prior, so hoping I might hear something this week. Will be disappointed if not. Would make my day tomorrow though since V-Day would be two weeks prior to the 28th.

I'm typing from my iPad. Had to send my computer in to repair its screen and it will probably take a few weeks.

This makes things hard for weekends and homework.

Was kept late at work- after arriving 15 mins late due to oversleeping after having champaign for Valentines Day last night (unrelated to the staying late issue)- by TWO HOURS. With no break at all and barely even was able to stop long enough to hit the bathroom.
