I'm sorry for the fellow that is gone, his mom, and for both you and Mr. Duckie, Marvel.

This may / may not seem like good consolation, but ..you do sound like both you and your hubby did try to be good friends for him.

That sucks, big time.

I did discover that my internship wouldn't be paid, but that seems like a lesser issue at this point in the thread. Won't be able to replace my mac and wacom for a while. Especially with my family's vehicle issues. The van we've had since 2008 had something explode in the engine and we can't get it fixed. Discovered there was still a 45th Anniversary Peter Pan VHS in its VCR (shows how old that van is), so that probably doesn't work anymore.

have your thread being called a troll thread for no good reason lol..

at least some people got the message it was trying to impart ;o).
and those last two replies kind of just proved the point of the whole thread, probably without even really intending too do so ;o). got a good laugh out of it at any rate, along with a SMH post....

honestly, i sometimes wonder why i even bother with message boards at all these days.

they are not as good as they used to be not more than 5, or 8, years ago

I am regretting my dinner choice. Had Cracker Barrel with my dad tonight and made multiple mistakes on the pot roast. Thought it would be good, but then I forgot Southern Dumplins aren't like chinese "pot stickers". Turnip greens were too sour, and then I just didn't like the roast...

But most of all, I have a bit of a stomach ache, probably because I've been eating differently lately.

That place is overrated. I've done alright with my selections (acceptable, but nothing to crave having again)...but I can not stand that cornbread they force on people. Worst I've ever had and a few times too many. I question is seagulls would even want it.

Love their gift shop though.

I'd love to get a novelty candy from their store sometime. Like the giant smarties.

Yup. They taste a bit like baby aspirin.
(And I say that as someone who LOVES them)

Like compacted bits of chalk that was previously wet but dried out and hardened. Not that I'm complaining, tart and sour things are some of my fave candies.

Although I haven't seen a giant novelty variety.

Haven't been there too often, usually its been when returning from a day trip out of state since we don't have one nearby. Though the last thing I bought from their gift shop was a stick dragon. Like a stick horse, but with a plush dragon head.

You can usually find the giant American Smarties in specialty candy stores, or just like...on the web.

They're available via Amazon.

Like candy necklaces? We have things called Fruit Tingles that may or may not be the same deal. Next time I go past an import sweet shop maybe I'll buy some.

I was merely suggesting that we try out playing at a specific time to the people that can make it, instead of relying on people randomly deciding "let's do a thing" out of nowhere, because nobody had done that for weeks. Just what I get for trying to solve a problem.

He probably has other things to do in his life. I've noticed that as a trend in forum founders, with most of the ones I've been on.

Krang comes around once in a while to check on things. It's just real life that keeps everyone busy.

Sometimes its a gear grinder to not have him around more when we need some administrative assistance, but we all understand how real life is. Same issue for all the moderators, really...

The other night I was awoken by a loud and horrible sound. Turns out my NECA Big Chap had fallen over and knocked my Marvel Legends Beetle off my shelf. His leg snapped right off as he hit the floor. This is the ultimate suck, and couldn't have happened at a worse time. Just a few more weeks, and I would've had the complete Hasbro Beetle lineup. That figure was one of my favorites, and my 1st 6-inch scale figure. It's because of that figure that I got back into action figure collecting, and what led me to the purchases I've made now. It'll be a pain to find another to replace him, as he came out years ago, and I don't know of many stores in the area that would still have him.

Damn it.

In the meantime, I've decided to make the most of this and have used him in display with my Aliens. I don't wanna throw him away, as he'd served my purposes in the past and it would feel wrong. I don't wanna superglue the leg on, as it wouldn't be the same, and would feel kinda disrespectful. If I ever meet a customizer, I'd want to have him made into a battle-damaged version or something, with blood and beaten up armor. But in the meantime I'll just hold on to him as he is.
