>>>I hope that im not alone here, but does anyone else want the 80 to happen again?<<<

Heh, funny you should mention that. I think I out of anyone on here wishes for an 80's entropy to happen...luckily, it's slowly happening as we speak!(80's video games, cartoons, freaking ALF!)

Besides, the 80's had the best damn movies...EVER. The 90's? The Matrix...and that was the last year of the decade.

I actually do a webcomic about a kid inthe future who wishes the 80's would return, heh.

The 80's was without qustion, the most magical, joyours, innocent celebration of wonder and imagination....ever. Especially the mid to late 80's...may that endless cocnerto come back!

That is only because you grew up in that time beaker... The movies were extremely cheap productions....we seem to be coming back to that with reality tv...

I'd have to say the greatest year in history was 1634. Man those were good times.

Anyways, does anyone else want the 80's again?
Uhhhh....are you a doof or something? I think it goes without saying that anybody who's a member of this site out of passion for the ORIGINAL TMNT loves the 80s, myself included

I try to tell my friends at school who hate the 80s (pretty much all of them) that just because you didn't live through those years at the right age doesn't mean you have to think it was a "stupid" decade. In particular, I use the example of how I started listening to the radio when I was about 2 or 3 (that would be in 1987) and that from there I became a part of the 80s culture at a young age. Hell, if I didn't, I wouldn't be the TMNT fan that I am today!

Yea, how old are you rez? I don't think your in any position to be saying whether or not the 80's was a good decade or not when you were born too late...

Tokka: My b-day is Oct. 3, 1984. I was very cognizant at an early age, unlike most people my age. I caught on with the TV shows, music, vernacular, and other stuff at the time. I don't think YOU have any right telling what I think my own opinion about a certain decade is. I might as well say that the 60s were "stupid" because of the long hair, folk music, tie-dye shirts, colored glasses, potheads, and all that other stuff. Fah, hang the 60s I say

And as for the movies, I'll bet you're only thinking of the cheeseball, Molly Ringwald-ish movies of the time (IE Adventures In Babysitting and Sixteen Candles). ONE of those popular movies was good, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, but don't let one particular type of movie budget and quality epitomize the era. Just look at:

- Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi
- Top Gun
- Aliens
- Predator
- Robocop
- Back to the Future
- Spaceballs
- The Evil Dead (though that WAS a low-budget B movie series)
- Star Trek 2-4
- Amadeus
- Clash of the Titans (you should've known I'd mention that one )

That's just to name a few.

Let's not forget the music. I'll bet you're only thinking of the mainstream stuff in that area as well. There was much more than that, mind you. Don't forget:

- Metallica
- Skinny Puppy
- Nine Inch Nails (yes, technically NIN officially debuted in '89 with Pretty Hate Machine and unofficially in '88 with a bootlegged tape called Purest Feeling)
- Other "industrial" and punk bands

Oh yeah, one other thing. Unless I'm mistaken, I think TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES, the basis of this fan site you are a MEMBER OF, began in the mid 1980s as well.

Good night

Oh boy...

Ok, you say get rid of the 60's?! Alright, throw away civil rights between the races, throw away woman's rights, throw away landing on the moon...nuclear weapons treaty, the list can go on....

Alright, I am not saying the 80's was a bad decade, I think they are all somewhat good and bad. But lets see some of the bad things that happened in the 80's...

This was the decade that bore the term 'SEQUELITIS'... it seemed every other movie in the theatres had the number 3, 4 or 5 after its name.

Aids was a huge disaster...especially in the late 80's with an all time high of people smoking the most dangerous drugs like crack and other ****...

Hurricane Hugo

Loma Prieta Earthquake

Exxon Valdez oil spill

April 26, 1986 Chernobyl nuclear power plant disaster (Probably the worst natural disaster in history) (Also the day I was born..but that wasn't a disaster)

So many scandals and problems with Iraq/Iran wars...

Some little girl fell down a well

Reagan

So I guess they did mask the horrible things with great movies, but lets not forget they were there...

Point made right there

That was trying to make people realize that they diss a certain time period ignorantly, not knowing what it really consisted of.

BTW, I said "might as well"...IOW, not to be taken seriously.

Well I didn't take it that seriously. I don't "diss" the 80s, I was born in 83' so I remember a lot of things that went on. I just get annoyed when people act like the 80s were some kind of "magical time when everything was good."

The 80s ruled for one reason and one reason above all:

"Wild Wild West" by Escape Club is the greatest song ever.

You did not just say that.. tell me you didn't just say that???

And how the hell can someone say one generation is better than another? Every generation as something good about it, even the 90's and 60's...

What, dude?

"47 deadbeats living on a back street, North East West South all in the same house
Sitting in the back room
Waiting for the big boom
I'm in the bedroom, waitin' for my baby,
She's so mean, but I don't care,
I love her eyes and her wild, wild hair,
Dance to the beat that we like best,
Heading for the 90s, living in the Wild Wild West..."

Classic, dude. Classic.
