Is there a source that proves he's been funding anti-dude-banging?

Most recently here, where it briefly mentions specifically who they've donated to over the years: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/nati...#ixzz22PVnoxqz

Apparently they've donated millions of dollars over the years to groups like Focus on the Family and the Family Research Council. In addition to opposing gay marriage, Focus on the Family opposes allowing gay couples to adopt children, and Family Research Council researcher Peter Spriggs told MSNBC’s Chris Matthews that he supports the idea of “criminal sanctions against homosexual behavior.” Family Research Council out of Colorado Springs is one of the Southern Poverty Law's identified hate groups.

http://www.splcenter.org/get-informe...search-council

So yeah, it's out there and they have. So bsically, if you do eat at Chick-Fil-A, there IS a chance some of your money might be given to groups that want to trample people's human rights and throw people in jail for who they consensually sleep with. Just sayin'. It may not seem like a big deal, but ask yourself honestly, if it turned out the dude was sending millions to support a Fourth Reich, would you be so quick to laugh it off?

Also interesting to note that Chick-Fil-A did record business the other day, with so many people lined up they had to turn people away from various restaurants. All fine, but as a friend pointed out to me: You never see so many "Christians" lined up a mile long outside a soup kitchen to help the poor or the homeless, do you? Since people love quoting the Bible so much with anti-gay rhetoric, why don't they bother with that part, since it was actually something Jesus told people to do? Helping those less fortunate, and all that? So to those people that went on Appreciation Day I simply ask: you're too busy to do that, but it's of vital importance to wait on a line for an hour for a greasy chicken sandwich just to support someone's anti-gay agenda? I just fnd that very interesting. Kinda funny how nothing brings people together like hating someone else and calling it "Free Speech". I'm ridiculously passionate about free speech, but I also firmly believe you can judge someone by the friends they keep and who they support and associate with. They're run by bigots, like it or not.

In any case, it's pretty stupid that any company that specializes in serving up hot meat - specifically "Hot C*ck Meat" (Chickens? "C*cks"? Get it?) - in between a set of warm buns would have an anti-gay agenda. The irony is palpable.

One time I went to Chik-fil-a and ordered a dicken sandwich. They just gave me a regular chicken sandwich though.

This is how I feel about it. I personally won't go there as long as they give money to those organizations. I'm not going to tell others what to do with their money, but I don't feel okay with spending mine there currently.

More or less. People at least should make educated decisions, though, and then decide with their wallets if they want to support a place that may be giving money to organizations with hateful agendas.

Kind of a moot point over here, I don't see many Chick-Fil-As in NJ, if any. I dig Subway.

Yeah, I feel the same way. People are able to waste their time going to a restaurant to support their anti-gay agenda, but what about going to work and actually earning money? Don't people have to do that, too? I've heard that there's going to be a gay sit in at some restaurants, and I hope they do it, too.

Really? That's interesting to me, I always thought we got along just fine. Maybe we had a misunderstanding somewhere along the lines. Wanna talk about it? I'm really a nice guy in general once you get past my hardened exterior, and I LOVE to hug.

Haha, I don't think we ever had a fight or anything, I literally just meant that I often have a different opinion on political topics. I didn't mean that we don't get along.

it also becomes more than just a casual stating of opinion when people like santorum & palin come out to support someone who supports anti-gay organizations... it sends a dangerous message to our country because, as you may remember, just a few months ago those were both people who wanted to be the president of the united states.

I agree with everything you just said. I'm Christian but really alot of the time I see Christain uniting to partcipate in the more hateful and self rightous activities than in helping people in genuian need.

Kinda funny how nothing brings people together like hating someone else and calling it "Free Speech".

best quote ever. And very true.

anyway, some random shmuck just got himself fired from his prestigious job because he felt the need to lecture some Chik-fil-A window girl and video tape it. Apparently his company didn't care for the PR his actions brought to his company.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/0...6pLid%3D187690

a break down of the exchange between the customer "smith" and the girl.

Quote:
Smith: "You know why I'm getting my free water, right?"

Worker: "No."

S: "Because Chick-Fil-A is a hateful corporation."

W: "I disagree. We don't treat any of our customers differently.."

S: "I know, but the corporation gives money to hate groups. Hate groups. Just because people want to kiss another guy."

W: "I'm staying neutral on this subject... my personal beliefs don't belong in the workplace."

S: "Yeah I believe that too, I don't believe corporations should be giving money to hateful groups.. I'll take my water"

W: "I'm really uncomfortable that you're videotaping this.."

W: "It's my pleasure to serve you, always."

S: "Oh of course, I'm glad that I can take a little bit of money from Chick-Fil-A, and maybe less money to hate groups."

W: "Well we're always happy to serve all our guests."

S: "I don't know how you live with yourself and work here. I don't understand it. This is a horrible corporation with horrible values. You deserve better."

W: "I hope you have a really nice day, and.."

S: "I will, I just did something really good, I feel purposeful, thank you so much."

S: "Have a good day... I'm a nice guy by the way, and I'm totally heterosexual.. not a gay [unintelligible] in me, I just can't stand the hate, you know? It's gotta stop, guys. Stand up."

you know what I find funny, is that after he lectures this girl about gay intolerance he feels the need to through out the disclaimer "by the way, I'm totally heterosexual..." He just had to be quick to assert that he was not straight and not gay. I notice alot of people who defend gays are quick to through out this disclaimer.

This controversy is totally overblown. If you don't like what the CEO of Chick-Fil-A says, you're not forced to do business with them. And equating disagreement with the idea of gay marriage as "hate" is laughable. It's like criticizing the President and being labelled "unpatriotic".

But in a way, it is hate because he's saying that gays don't have the right to marry based on a belief system which is so outdated, it's not even funny. The CEO is promoting hate by stating that gays don't have to have the same rights as heterosexuals. I thought this country was based on the assumption that everyone is created equal. It's too bad that religion has pretty much ousted this belief and caused people to believe that people who are different shouldn't have the equal rights that others have in this country. It's just so sad how this is happening.

Look, if you don't believe in gay marriage, fine. But why should politicians try to control what should be basic rights for anybody living here? And why should a CEO even say something like that? He should've kept it to himself unless he was asked about it. But instead, he stated his views and has now caused a huge controversy. The more that I hear about this, the more that I feel I don't want to eat at a restaurant with such a hateful agenda.

Seriously, the word hate is thrown around way too much in this thread. It's almost like people are brain washed into thinking that you hate something if you don't support it.

"Hate" is a different thing than "I don't agree with", yes... in many cases. But when a person says something against, or gives money to people who discriminate against, the privacy of consenting adults, or says they should be criminals based on what they do, that ceases to become "disagreeing" and starts to become "violating their rights to privacy, love, and happiness".

Here's the thing: I don't for one second, not for ONE SECOND think anyone on this Earth genuinely has the idea that gays are "bad" because of any religious reasoning, regardless of what religion they are, because most religions have some sort of disclaimer prohibiting homosexual behavior. How odd, they all disagree about so many things, but they all agree gays (and chicks) have no human rights. Kinda convenient, in my opinion. But anyway, when people start talking about "morality" or "The Bible says this" or anything, what they *really* mean is, "Dude, look, I just think its f*cking gross and I don't think anyone should do it, EVER, because even if I'm not looking at it, just knowing someone's out there doing it right now OH GOD NO IT'S SO DISGUSTING!" That's all it is, not wanting someone to do something that makes them happy just because you find it personally distasteful. That's hate. Period.

And I think people should just say what they really mean instead of hiding behind books, words, and scriptures they probably haven't read, so much as cherry-picked to find buzzwords that match their personal philosophy.

Some things in life are a little more open to debate, but I don't think this really is. Here it is: If gay people shouldn't be gay, if they shouldn't be allowed to get married, be miserable, and eventually get divorced like everyone else can, and if they shouldn't be allowed to raise children... you need a good reason WHY, other than "It's just plain bad". By the very foundation of opinion, it turns these people into criminals for something they don't have any control over. And if you think people choose to be gay, explain why anyone would CHOOSE a life full of hatred and persecution just for the privilege of spanking another dude? That's not "choice", that's more like "penance", and for what? The only "choice" involved is in choosing to live a lie and hate yourself, or be "out" and be hated and looked down on by everyone else. Some choice. I think people deserve the right as human beings to be who they really are, without having to worry they're going to lose their job, lose their family, or be thrown in jail for having "deviant sexual interests," unless they involve children or dead bodies.

To be fair, I'm not very close to the subject, I don't even have any gay friends that I'm aware of. I'm just very uncomfortable with the fact that so many people can say "I don't hate them, I just think it's wrong/I'm just against it" as if it's significantly different. It's not different at all, you're saying people shouldn't do what makes them happy, and aside from rape, drugs, murder, and necrophilia, I think people have the right to do what makes them happy. I keep thinking of stuff like V For Vendetta where cops kick in your door and drag you off to some prison camp for being gay, and I ask, "Who the f*ck honestly wants to live in that world?" Even if you don't care for gay people, do we really want to even take a step towards that path, over something so trivial? I don't think so. Being "Different" should not be the same thing as being "criminal". It's just too thin a line for my tastes.

But then again, I feel sex changes are totally immoral, people who have them done are mentally troubled and in need of treatment, and any doctor who consents to performing the procedure should be prosecuted. But that's a whole different argument about how surgical mutilation can't undo genetics and DNA, and other things not entirely relevant to this. But feel free to call me a hypocrite.

BTW I should mention that I do know one half of an actual gay married couple. (I met him on a furry forum.) I don't know if anyone else here has met an actual gay married couple, but he does agree with me that if gay marriage is a right, so is having multiple spouses. Anyone says that isn't the same thing?
