PS: You can't "plan" success. Nick has certainly tried to do so with TMNT, and have given it a solid foundation, but ultimately it's up to kids to tune in or not.
Do you even know how much they paid for the license to TMNT?

Yes I do. But what does that have to do with what I just said?

They invested a lot of money and so far it's paying off and the show is doing well (first new Nick show that hasn't flopped in a long time) but that doesn't mean they want to cancel other shows as a result. As long as a show is successful, they will keep it going. This applies to both TMNT and SpongeBob. They are not rivals. The better SpongeBob does the better it is for TMNT since SpongeBob is often TMNT's lead-in.

According to Nick's official press release of the event, TMNT was 2012's #1 new animated program with boys 2-11.

It doesn't mean #1 overall, just #1 out of the animated shows that premiered last year. Which is still good.

Boys 2-11 was exactly the target they were aiming for so it's great that TMNT thriving in that demo.

I didn't say that they would cancel Spongebob, I said that they need a new show that would get a lot of ratings. They know TMNT is popular so they try that(and Power Rangers and Digimon). To me it's like a rebirth of the network.

Good news for the franchise and the shows' fans.

Let's hope the next season is a marked improvment over this one (ducks tomatoes being thrown)
