Have not seen the 2014 movie, and I'm counting Turtles Forever just because.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Secret of the Ooze (Confession: nostalgia factors high. My memories from this are from when I was 10 and actually thought Vanilla Ice was totally awesome)
Turtles Forever
TMNT

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III

I'm not all that critical on movies and enjoy them all for what they do bring and 2014 is a whole different one of it's own, so not sure I can really put them in an order I'm comfortable with. There are things about this new one that could rank at each level and right now not too sure where to place it.

However I have to say I appreciated the honest rankings I saw from you guys yesterday prior to my seeing it last night. Found it interesting some of the excited folks still placed 1990 at top, and had me a bit more hopeful for 2014 that it was often placed right behind it.

I think what really stood out with this one, compared to like SOTO and III, was that the Turtles got to use their weapons. Especially Mikey again. No more coldcut combat in here. It's nice to see that the attack on the Ninja culture that was so rampant back in the mid 90's stayed in the mid 90's.

1. TMNT 1990 - Definitely the best of the bunch. It just gets the characters and does an excellent job of bridging the original comics and 87 cartoon.
2. TMNT 2 - My personal favorite as a kid. I still love this film, it's very entertaining and the costume upgrades are almost perfect. I also prefer Don's voice and Paige Turco's April.
3. TMNT 2014 - Lots of problems, mostly script related, but still enjoyable. I hope they correct these problems in the sequel, because I felt the potential.
4. TMNT III - Horrible costumes and dialogue, but it still is sacred ground as far as nostalgia for me (first movie I ever saw in theaters). Bad movie, but I still enjoy watching it every now and then.
5. TMNT 2007 - Nothing particularly bad about this other than I don't feel any connection to it and the plot isn't very interesting or feel TMNT related.

1) TMNT 1990- It's closest to the Mirage comics. It takes the material seriously enough, while still being fun for younger viewers. Raphael overcoming his anger is probably best portrayed in this movie.

2)Secret of the Ooze-I'd say it's even with the new movie as silly fun. Having Tokka and Razar in it gives it a few more points in my book.

3) TMNT 2014-Pretty good action movie. Having April as the main character was a good idea, even if it didn't have the best execution.

4)TMNT 2007-It's a little slow to get going IMO. I liked the idea of the TMNT vs. monsters, but this one just feels forgettable.

5)TMNT III-The turtles time traveling could have been neat, but the antagonists weren't very interesting. It doesn't hold up to additional viewings like the first one.

TMNT 90
Turtles Forever
TMNT 2014
TMNT 2007
TMNT 2
TMNT 3

The 2014 and 2007 are pretty much tied to me. I put 2014 higher just because I think it will stand the test of time better.

1. TMNT 2014
I've given this a lot of thought, and I've watched the movie three times. Is it the best plot of of the movies? Nah. Is it the best cast? Maybe… I loved the turtles' actors. Donnie, Raphael and Mikey. Knoxville as Leo is passable. And I just plain prefer this take on the turtles. Their personalities, their look, and their abilities. The tone of the movie is exactly where I'd like it. The intensity of the action, the humor, the pace. I like that Donnie has crazy technology and carries tons of gadgets and Mikey's all jokes. And while I wouldn't fault a movie for the technical limitations of its special effects, I can't help that I’d rather see the turtles in this scale of action. The snow chase, running on rooftops, riding on vehicles, and just flipping around. It’s like a cartoon. Plus, Splinter.
Most importantly, it's the most fun I've had in the theater in years.

2. TMNT 1990
It's always been one of my favorite movies. But there's a huge amount of nostalgia involved. The cast is great, I don't have a negative word to say about any of them. It also did a great job of blending early Mirage stories into one solid plot, even if it did omit all the sci-fi stuff. I think it has the best story out of all the movies.

3. TMNT 2007
The monster idea is not my favorite, but I appreciate the break from Shredder. I particularly enjoy this later view of the turtles, and the story of them drifting apart and coming back together as a team. And I love the Nightwatcher idea. I prefer when Raphael is portrayed not just as angry, but as passionate. Raphael couldn’t sit back while criminal activity continued, and we got to see what kind of hero he would make on his own. Also, CGI action was something I had always hoped for. I really liked the design and animation. It was a ton of fun to watch these turtles in action..

4. TMNT 2
I stopped favoring this movie by my teen years. The fights are so slapstick that they aren’t fun to watch, Judith Hoag and Corey Feldman were replaced. I still enjoy it. I don’t consider it bad, just not as good as others.

5. TMNT 3
Meh. I don’t have much to say, as I don’t consider it much worse than 2. I just don’t care for the setting or the villain. I actually think it’s one of the funnier movies, though. I kinda feel like watching it.

1.) TMNT 1990 - This movie is still one of my favorite films of all time. With it being shot on such a budget, it gives it even more of the gritty Mirage vibe that I've become such a fan of while still finding a way to include the things about the original cartoon that peopled loved. It's got a good story to it and the Ninja Turtles actually have a true group arc and a reason to do battle with the Shredder. Everything feels connected and it's a much more satisfying film.

2.) TMNT 2: Secret of the Ooze - Sure on repeat viewings, this one is super silly and even though soccer moms ruined this movie from what it could've been (Utroms!?) at least this one isn't afraid of the story it's trying to tell and goes full into the world of the cartoon. It's nowhere near the epic vibe of the first film, but the Turtles feel like their animated series counterparts represented on screen almost. They borrow a little bit of the "aggression" from Raphael from the first movie, but other than that...everything feels very in line with material from the cartoon. Hell, Shredder is wearing purple this time around! Not the greatest movie, but it's certainly self aware and I can appreciate that.

3.) TMNT 3 - All in all, this film is vile to many Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle fans and it's obvious why. The movie has the worst effects in the franchise and the story is so bland that you could've put any other set of characters in this and it wouldn't have mattered. It's like the studio had an idea for a time travel movie and they thought "...wonder if we could put the TMNT in there?" By this time, the franchise had burnt out a bit and it was starting to show. However, this is the "Batman & Robin" of the TMNT world. A movie so bad and universally hated when in recent years, that's it now fun to laugh at because of how poorly it's put together.

4.) TMNT 2014 - I've said my fair share of negative things about this film as of late and I have a hard time not putting this one down towards the bottom of the list the more I think of it. There's no substance to this movie besides what's on surface level and the more you think about this movie and try to dig deep into it, the movie's become more apparent. I think the handling of Shredder is ridiculous and lacking confidence, April's story outshines anything over what is going on in the Turtle's world, Splinter looks horrible and I think this has to be the most obnoxious and unpleasing version of the four brothers I've ever seen. Moments save this film....screenwriting and lack of direction, kill this film.

5.) TMNT 2007 - Where the third movie is hilarious in the fact they could've put any characters in this film and it would've worked, I feel the uninspired CGI film that came out in 2007 really takes the cake for being one of the worst TMNT films. I think the story is so standard and so formulaic that I can't get invested into anything else that's happening on the screen. With some of the worst fighting we've seen in a Turtles film, this movie just feels like one giant animated blur that is just very forgettable and unenjoyable. I know some fans have really liked this movie, but I just can't get myself to enjoy it.

So Cybercubed is "****ed in the head" for enjoying a show that has children as its target demographic?

1. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990's) - Still holds up to today's standards, fantastic designs, great action, great visuals, good story, great actors, good comedy

2. Teenage ninja turtles 2
- Great visuals, decent designs, good action, good comedy, ok story, good actors, a little too corny

3. TMNT - Fantastic visuals, fun action, ok designs, fantastic actors, ok story, felt random to people just going into it blind, less comedy

4. Turtles Forever - Fun visuals, ok story, Shat on the 1980's turtles, bad acting from some actors, good action, great designs, Nostalgia in the face, forced comedy

5. Teenage mutant ninja Turtles (2014) - decent visuals, great action, good acting from most, ok plot with lots of holes, very stitched together last minute, great comedy, crappy designs,

6. Teenage mutant ninja turtles 3 - ****** designs, way too corny, poor comedy, poor action, poor story, decent visuals from other characters and backgrounds, good acting from very few, huge letdown

Nah, but acting like I'm weird for not liking it is retarded

Someone should wait a few months and post this thread again. Im curious how the responses will change as some people warm up to the new movie or start to hate it
