As far as a Super-Shredder being in other stuff, has there been? Maybe because the idea is 'old' it feels more 'classic,' despite only showing up as an idea twice.

Maybe Duckie's idea is a way to make the idea feel new again, at least in regards to the 'usual' where Shredder just turns into some giant human hulk.

I haven't seen it beyond SOTO and SAINW. But I think Nick could totally pull it off if Shredder feels he has to mutate himself to get stronger and defeat his enemies.

I ask in particular because looking at the pics for the super shredder, its only really a more vicious looking set of armour combined with a much stronger physique - Shredder is still basically human (just bigger and stronger). There's a couple of clear pics on google for his action figure/resin statuettes that really indicate this.

Seems like an easy route would be to just upgrade the suit without even worrying about the mutagen angle - particularly when allied with baxter.

True, but as I said, updating the armor won't be enough. He wants to eliminate the Turtles for good and maybe the only way he's going to do it is if he mutates himself to become stronger than they are.

Thanks guys! Now I really want to write it. Strangely enough, I had another idea this morning for a flashback story about the turtles'and Splinter's "birthday" or mutation day (in my AU).

I just remembered this thread and how it's made for the sole purpose of not crowding up the official season 3 info thread.

That aside, with the recent information out, my mind is all over the place. I'm still not too certain if some of this stuff is supposed to happen in season 3 or 4 though, like the Triceratons showing up. I think the time travel stuff is for season 3, right? Mega Shredder too. So much speculation can be made.

I know it was mentioned there, but I do have this feeling that Bradford and Xever are facing their end, which is a shame because I feel they could've done more with Xever's character. Bradford I could always see as remaining loyal to Shredder...Xever on the other hand I could see going "rogue", so to speak. He struck me as the type that would eventually get sick of being treated like crap all the time by the others.

I feel that all four turtles will have to use what they learned from their spirit quests to defeat Mega Shredder.

I hate the fact that there's no mention of Mutagen Man...but maybe something will happen regarding him that just wasn't mentioned.

I really wish Baxter was acting on his own. Working for Shredder (forcefully), but with a plan to double-cross all of them to get his humanity back. To be honest, I feel Baxter should try the same thing he did in the Lonely Mutation of Baxter Stockman, only somehow tricking Shredder into the vat of mutagen instead...wow, what if that episode was foreshadowing that giant mega shredder thing that the turtles will have to face later on?

With Renet joining up and them traveling to the past to see the Hamato clan before Saki went all "HOW DARE YOU TAKE THE GIRL I LIKE WHO DOESN'T LIKE ME BUT LIKES YOU AWAY FROM ME AND HOW DARE YOUR FATHER TAKE ME IN AND CARE FOR ME LIKE A SON AFTER DEFEATING MY OLD CLAN!" and stuff. I can't help but wonder if the Turtles will accidentally screw something up in the past that will affect everyone's future....not necessarily one where they wouldn't exist...just something small.

Just so many opportunities.

I think Mega Shredder and the Triceratons were mentioned for Season 3. I think Mega Shredder is right after the two known time travel episodes and the Triceraton debut is right after the 'Creeping Doom.' I have heard of the titles, but I can't remember what they are.

Edit: The Mega-Shredder one is 'Attack of the mega Shredder!" episode 21 and the Triceraton one is "Dinosaurs seen in Sewers" which airs September 20th.

I'm wondering if this isn't because they've recently been adding all of these high name actors and want to keep things within budget. Killing off a couple characters is pretty much the easiest way, plus there is also the possibility of some of them starting to have a lot of time taken up by other shows. Clancy Brown I know voiced Savage Oppress (Darth Maul's brother) in the Clone Wars series, since Rebels has been approved for more seasons he could have been re-hired to voice a new major character on it (maybe an Inquisitor) and wouldn't have enough time for both anymore. Xever's VA I'm not as sure, but since Xever didn't seem to be featured as much once Tigerclaw came along, they could be phasing him out too.

I hope they do something with him too, maybe he is one of the weird keys to stopping Mega Shredder. The guy has a weird composition from being fused with mutagen itself, especially with the jigsaw puzzle that will be Mega Shredder, at least in regards to vat mutagen, and whatever mutagen is contained in the bodies of his henchmen.

You might be right, that could be how Mega Shredder is created. Baxter attempts to become Super Baxter by merging with Shredder in the vat, but one or both of his henchmen try to rescue Shredder and both get pulled in during the struggle. The mutagen predictably reacts, fusing all of their bodies into one hideous blob instead.

It's always a possibility... or they could change things that become their own version of events in a time loop. Tang Shen might not have originally died without their interference, but the Turtles showing up could have been the thing that 'accidentally' led to Shredder learning about his true heritage, thus leading up to the big angry fight and Tang Shen's death.

Since you mentioned that this might not be the end of Shredder, I'm wondering if events in the Mega Shredder episode turn him into Super Shredder? I'm not sure how they will stop Mega Shredder, but he could be left in a form after the defeat that is still mostly himself, but with some traits of Rahzar, Baxter, and Xever remaining. He might have the intelligence of Baxter, spines/blades covering his body like Rahzar (but still reminiscent of his old armor) and maybe tiny scales covering what was bare skin and the ability to breathe underwater. He might end up with long fangs coming out of his mouth (traits of both Xever and Rahzar) like you sometimes see on those old samurai helmets, (and most disgustingly) might have the ability to vomit acidic venom at his enemies (a 'gift' of both Xever and Baxter.)
The henchmen themselves might be reduced to an inert soupy goo after Mega Shredder's defeat, but their traits will 'live on' in their master.
