New trailer tomorrow...they're already showing off the reshoots by having Corenswet in it.

That thing that Gunn said they'd never have, on anything. Because there'd be so much advance planning and "we won't proceed without a great script" and all.

Corenswet in this front and center is really their only hope. If Supergirl can somehow ride what little energy Corenswet's Superman movie has left, that might make it not a total embarrassment box office-wise. Though it's not like giving John Wick a huge part in "Ballerina" helped that movie, either -- and that was a GOOD movie.

How long ago was it now that conversation about the "announced DC Film Slate" began?

And we had what? A cartoon, a T.V. show and a movie so far?

What took me out of Peacemaker, is that scene where the fat black woman was being chased by the Nazi crowd on the street, and yet the fat black woman was not only able to run fast enough from the crowd of 20+ young white athletic people to keep ahead of them, but she also jumped over a white fence to a house, and then ran in the backyard where the pool was. The way the fat black actress lifted her leg over that white fence, there's no believeable way to me she could lift her weight up over that fence like that (along with the people not catching up to her).

I just don't believe fat black women can move that fast. She would have either toppled over, lost her breath, or falling down when she lifted that one leg over the white fence. (also after that, the Nazi crowd jump in the pool and chase after her through the pool water for some reason, instead of you know, running alongside the pool instead).

Once that happened, I knew I could not take the season seriously. That fat black women should of keeled over right then and there and been out of breath.

The way you describe it reminds me of a young Princess Leia being chased through the woods by the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

You know.... this movie just has nothing going for it.

Supergirl largely in a "powered down situation" without the yellow sun. Only interesting to coffee-house yuppies spouting cliches about "interesting character situations". But not in reality.

Supergirl just isn't cast well. Supergirl should either be a Michael Turner-level of gorgeous (think the hottest OF model you've ever seen that conforms to Supergirl's dimensions) OR the perfect "girl next door style of hot" (Melissa Benoit fits here). This girl is neither of them.

It took forever to pump this "Universe" out and it was done with a slightly-above-average-but-not-spectacular Superman flick and some TV shows that no one honestly gives a $#!( about.

I just see this movie coming and going and not doing anything for the DCEU.

Watched both the Supergirl and the MOTU trailers, and my God do they both look like they're gonna be a couple of piles of doggie doodoo. Pretty much everything the last 15 years or so has been completely worthless. I mean for the love of God, TRY HARDER. The Netflix MOTU mini series(es) weren't the greatest thing I've ever seen. But if you just put a little effort like they did, you at least end up.with a halfway decent product.

"What if... a dog gets injured and Supergirl has to save it?"

This was literally the hook for James Gunn, I think. Except he forgot that he made sure nobody liked that dog in the last movie.

I don't think it looks completely bad, but it looks like your typical "ho-hum" movie where you didn't mind watching it but you're not going to remember anything about it a week later. Also the actress cast looks alright, she's not like stunningly beautiful or anything but she looks good enough.

They're kind of doing the actress a disservice in this with the hair & makeup department -- I would still say people should watch those first few episodes of "House of the Dragon" to see her in a better light. But remember, as James Gunn said, he wants this to show young girls "it's OK to be messy" (his words).

This is what happens in the comics this movie is based on. She travels across the universe to find a cure for Crypto and to revenge the murder of the little girl's father.

Aw no... c'mon. It's beginning... the Supergirl actress now: "Alcock also tells Vanity Fair that backlash is inevitable because "simply existing as a woman in [franchise IP] is something that people comment on. We have become very comfortable having this weird ownership of women’s bodies. I can’t really stop them."

Why would she say this? For what purpose?

This is how you get nobody to show up for your movie. When will they learn?

I don't think it looks bad, but I just don't like how this version of Kara is written.

I think the series that aired fairly recently on the CW is gonna end up much better than this movie. Unless the characters name is Batman, DC is just much better at their tv shows than they are their movies. I'll take the "Arrowverse" shows over the attempt to replicate Marvel's cinematic universe any day.

I'm not sure there's very much that could be worse than that CW show. That was prime CW at its worst.
