I think There's some thing goin on between April and don, when they first met don's like staring at her and smiling, and also when master splinter said "wat r u goin to do now with out a job" april said "i'm not sure" don was the frist to say, "well'll help u gte back on ur feet" and also when stockmens lab was goin to blow and mikey said let's get out of here, don was the one who held her and jumped back to the floor.

April and Keno, ok now personally, I'm more grossed out by the two of them being together than her and one of the guys! And I agree, the turtles are only human too, well, part human. Being boys and being teens, I'm sure they have hormones. For lack of mutant turtle chicks, they havta settle human chicks. And even when Venus was around, they were interested in her a little, but not as much as they were in the human girls (like at the rave and stuff). Anyone notice that? Of course it could be cuz they all thought they were related to one another, but later on Leo told her "...we're not related". So this whole 'species difference' thing is not necessarily an issue.

Do you think the turtles in any universe (excluding the comics) are trully capable of have those emotions? I mean do you think given the fact that they are adolecent males that they have those sorts of urges for females. Do you think that they actually find human females attrctive at all? Or do you think their attraction is more stemmed in just their desire for other social realationships out side their immediatly?

That's actually a good question. Considering the cartoon universes (including Archie), if they find mutants/aliens of another species attractive, I don’t see why humans would really be all that different in their mind. Like mutant monkeys or something. And it would really depend on whether the attraction was physical at all (example: Lotus Blossom.) Just because someone’s not actively looking for a relationship doesn’t mean they don’t want, or aren’t capable of those feelings.

Mike did have that poster in the second movie… But, the TMNT might have a slight prejudice against humans, since they have been told all their life that humans would instantly reject them.

It’s actually very hard to predict what a human will find attractive (detail-wise), even when they know their “type”, much less a mutant turtle. I think Don’s attraction towards April (because that’s what a bulk of this thread is about) is a school-boy crush. Think about it, Don’s probably been teased and felt distanced from his brothers because of his interests. Suddenly, they meet a nice, pretty woman who shares his interests. Instant bond. Almost all Turtle/other relationships have this pattern.

But I do think many of the “canon” relationships were stemmed from the acceptance of the other person, and the Turtle trying to “hold” onto that. It’s complicated. If relationships were easy to figure out, we’d all be in one, and no one would ever have problems.

But really, in the end, it all depends on the writer. But we do have well-written, well-rounded characters here. Romance novel characters fall in love all the time, and they’ve got less depth than my fingernail.

Wrong. There's not 'nothing' there between Don and April. I have an email from Dan Berger that says, whiole they may never get together... Don's crush on her, (and her somewhat flirtations with him) are implied throughout the show.

So yeah, anyone thinking they see it, are totally right.

Yeah, she'll get with Casey in the end most likely, but there's still 'something' there with her and Don, no matter how unrequited.

well, in the first movie don and April r always holdin hands, and i do think there is something betweent raph, (it's funny when she screams!)

I think it makes more simce for the turtles to find human females attractive than other mutant females. In the classic toon universe it was pretty clear that the turtles where just human teenagers that had the misfortune of being mutated turtle freaks.

And that they definatly don't seem to think of them selves as mutant freaks that can't have love interests. Michaleangelo and Leonardo are proff of that as they both fell for human females and thought thought they where attractive (well Leonardo actually fell in love, Michaelangelo actually just had crushes). I don't think of them as being animals or even mutated ones. I think the turtles stoped being animals the moment the mutagent crossed Yoshi's human dna and mutataed them into their current selves.

As far as the new toon is concerned, I have no idea if the turtles have those kind of emotions are if they even find human females attractive or not. There doesn't seem to be anything that would suggest they do in the new toon besides Donatello's infatuation with April and Leonardo's admiration/crush on that ninja chick that stabed him (can never remember her name).
