Why was Don using scuba gear? Didn't the Turtles do a lot of swimming underwater in the Garbageman episode? They practically swam across the entire river underwater. I wouldn't think a Turtle would need scuba gear to stay underwater for an extended period of time. I know they can't stay under indefinitely, but I don't think the scuba gear was necessary.

I can't say as I was looking forward to another episode with Nano. The sounds he makes freak me out. To me, it seemed like he should have been older than what he was acting like. He was a toddler in his first episode and maybe only 5 or 6 in this episode. I think advanced robotic technology would learn faster than that. I just kept thinking the entire time, "why is he still acting like such a baby?"

The April and Casey thing was cute like most everybody else has said. I also liked the way the Turtles and Splinter were being protective of her. Of course, if April were going to go out with anybody, wouldn't they want it to be Casey since he is basically the only other human they know?

Not one of the best episodes, but it was alright.

That is a good point...if nano is a robot that learns so fast, how come he is still a baby?

My question is why it took the nano bots so long to rebuild themselves. I mean how long has it been? Months? A year maybe? In the first episode they seemed to reproduce pretty quickly, I don't understand why it would take it so long for this to happen.

In Mirage, there are good and evil Nanobots.

The good ones are created by the Utroms and are based on the Turtles.

The bad ones were created by Baxter Stockman and look like bugs.

Baxter injected the bad ones he made into April's bloodstream in Volume 2 and Activated them in Volume 4. So, the Utroms made the "Nanoturtlebots" to fight them.

Anyway, GREAT episodes. Nano1 was my favorite episode, before Shredder Strikes Back (and later Return to NY), because it was so creepy. THIS one was good and creepy too.

I REALLY hope to see an April/Casey? Don love triangle in this series. That would be SO awesome.
BTW Does anyone else think of that scene in "Shades of Grey", where Casey fights Don when you think of that?

BTW, HT, as one Mech fan to another, keep up the robot jokes! They get the gears turning!

Okay, while I know that Nano is a good character and the stories are good, I still find myself very annoyed by the character. Maybe not annoyed, just... it simply rubs me the wrong way. I love technology and am fascinated by the application of nanotechnology, but Nano always struck me as just plain creepy. It's a sad story, and I'm uncomfortable with sad.

My favorite parts were the April and Casey moments. Loved the dreamy tone in Casey's voice when he and April almost kissed. I also got a kick out of the Turtles and Splinter being all protective over April, though my brother didn't get the joke. And it was funny how April kept insisting it wasn't a date, even when she walked out with her arm around his. Though my top favorite part was when Casey first walked in and April said, "Finally, another human being... kinda." Or something like that, but it was funny.

I liked the hint towards City at War, and was thrilled that the media had actually used that title to describe the events. Nice touch.

And while the ending was a touch sappy, I really liked the moment between April and Don.

Next week: Leatherhead. I am so looking forward to this.

I thought Nano was agreat character in his first episode. He was basicaly a newborn and we got to see him evolve and show emotions for his "Daddy" as well as be very protecive of him as to try to kill the turtles whom were trying to hurt his "Daddy." I hoped they would have him come back for a second episode and thankfully they did. After watching it, I liked the character a whole lot more. He evolved even further but still had the want for a family. I hope they bring him back a third time because there is a whole lot more story left in him and his family.

I know it can be very hard for Nano to understand what he really is. The TMNT might of shut down Nano but how do we know that all the Nano bots have been destroyed.

Every series there's an emotional charater.

but Nano will always be the known as the misguided child of the series.

Jester liked episode.
Jester gives a 3 outta 5 stars.
Jester liked the forshadowing of the "City of War" story arc.
Jester likes how the turtles, splinter april and casey are one big, however disfunctional, family.
Jester likes april in the mud mask and robe.
Jester likes the fact that he sees a strange love triangle unfolding (u know donny's gonna be jealous of casey....april and he are so similar).
Jester has said enough...
Jester will now sleep.

*hops in with a million nanobot issues*

--> The Nanobots in this show look to be created by a completely differnt company than the one in the new Mirage comics. Same idea, different manufactures.

--> I think it's easy to imagine that some nanobots "jumped ship" before the huge host of a robot was droped in the smelting pot. They are so tiny, it's easy to miss some undetected, and they prolly crawled off into the nether regions of the junkyard to recoup, or something. So the show decided to leave those details out since it was easy to imagine.

Hence the second follow up of Don thinking of a way to "turn them off". If they all get "turned off", then there wouldn't be a worry about missing some. In Transformer speak, it can also be called "stasis lock" where all the power is drained, or they get damaged so bad their system shuts down.

The good thing, the nanobots are no longer a threat. The bad or unsure thing... they are not destroyed. *can imagine Don senaking back out there later to go nanobot hunting* The nanobots are still likely to get a charge of energy somehow, repair, and reek havoc again. I haven't read the plot summaries for the next eps, so I dunno if he'll be back though. I'm guessing Nano won't be.

---> What Nano also reminds me of: the robot kid in the Movie AI (Artificial Intelligence). That one was a pretty messed up bot too, all things considering. While Nano isn't too bad, I thought AI was terribly depressing to the point I didn't like it! Only watched it once to this day.

Computers in general are still prety logic. Anything that happenes that doesn;t make logical sense to them, they will crash or something bizarre like that. (aka Nano throwing a tamtrum cause his Happy Family program did not work.)

I'm also wondering if the combined AI of the little nanobots were what made the big Nano act as child-like as he does. Like either the technology wasn't that advanced, or it's kind of like the same combiner concept behind the gestalts TF groups. (IE... the Constructicons. Highly intelligent TF engineers as themselves, but when the 6 combine to become Devastator, they sound pretty dumb.)

Just my two cents on the matter...

Is it just me or was it called "The Return of Nano" and not "Modern Love - The Return of Nano"?

Agreed (except for the April/ Don thing... It's clearly her qand Casey!)

The thing I usually hate about recurring characters or sequal episodes, it's usually bringing back a character for the hell of it. Not here. This was indeed an improvement over tthe last episode, and it was great for a non-shredder episode.

Can't wait until the Leatherhead episode next week... though i wish it was more like the comic book version...

As for the cons gambling with Candy bars.... there are stories of jail oin which cigarettes are as good as currency... and since they don't allow cigarrettes on kid's shows... Candy bars! hope that clears it up!

at ninjaturtles.com it said modern love. When it actually aired it skipped that part.
