Hey - is it just me, or did April call the Queen Wasp a B!tch when she impaled it with her spear? WHOA!
Good episode. Let's work on the music though. I love those "Planet of the Apes" sequences. |

This was a good ep, eps. since April kicked butt in it! Usually she ins't
in the Turtles adventures, not like the OS. But unlike the OS, she actually fights and has bravery, that I like! Kinda funny cuz when she swooped down and rescued Leo (April rescuing Leo, wow, that I'm not used to, usually it's the other way around that, looked all surprized and said, "Wow, you go jungle girl!" LOL! Took the words outta my mouth! This ep reminded me of "Big Bug Blunder", a 1990 ep from the OS. Also the whole swarm thing, a queen, and a nest with hatching eggs reminded me of several monster/sci-fi flicks, some of which I watched recently like: Aliens, Deep Blue Sea, Pitch Black, Jurassic Park and Godzilla. Them being trapped on an anicient planet was cool as hell, and that reminded me of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's 'The Lost World' (not Jurassic Park 2). Also April ripping her pants and tearing them off down to shorts reminded me of TMNT 3, and I yelled, "Turtles 3!" at that part. Cuz in TMNT 3 she ripped off her pants and reduced them to shorts also. "Oh it's a leg-o-rama!" -Don from TMNT 2. Overall exciting ep and I do hope that April finds her uncle, and that she'll more often then she has been, have adventures with the turtles. "It's the queen!" -Don "I don't care if it's Queen Latifah!" -Mikey

I know she might apear sometime in the series since she's from the Original Mirage Comics. Probably in later Seasons. Even if she is in the new Series I think the reason why she isn't in the picture is probably cause she went somewhere or she could of taken the picture for her family. but we'll worry about Robyn later.

April of the Jungle!
today's episode wasn't to bad it mean besides the fact that it was supposed to be about Aprils father and it ended up being about her uncle I don't remember his name but it did make me think of that old joke from the old cartoon where Baxter stockman couldn't remember Aprils name so he kept calling her June and other months lol....makes me wonder if the rest of her family all have first names that are months thatd be a funny running gag...
well I didn't care much for the bugs ......would have rather seen the tree people or the dinos from the new comics perhaps.....I wonder if we will get any giant bug figures....I guess I was just a bit disappointed with the bugs I thought there would be a bit more diversity and not just one kind of bug.....I'd say actually my favorite part of the episode was when don I think it was said look out its the queen and Mikey said I don't care if it's queen lateffa god man I don't think Mikey has ever made me laugh so hard before lol...it was a nice change of pace though from seeing shredder every single week......the stinger thing kinda bugged me a bit though cause it didn't even really touch them and they got all paralyzed thought that was kinda dumb and them April jabs her threw the throught and she should have died but not the damn queen got back up....I really loved how April got all "jungle girl" in this episode I hope we get to see her fighting more often....they should make a special addition jungle girl April figure with giant bug box set heh all the men would go nuts for that baby lol... I give this episode an 8 out of 10 stars....it was a good episode...Mikey actually made me laugh and didnt annoy the hell out of me......but there were some serious mess ups in this episode...pluss I couldn't decide if I liked that song or not lol I think I may have hated it but I was to tired to tell lol -Vaughn Michael |

Some notes on today's episode:
1) Where was Robyn O'Neil in the picture? 2) That "Jungle Out There" was the corniest song I've heard in quite some time. 3) Anyone else think that the cubes will somehow be connected to timemistress Renet next season? Overall I liked this episode. They showed some cutting, slashing, and stabbing this episode. It was FAR better than I thought it would be.

And I guess there is no Robyn in this universe. I mean, they didn't have her in the OS, and I guess they didn't want to add her storyline into this series either. |

Anyway, I think I hate this episode now that I've heard some of you give gushing positive reviews of it. It was way better than Junklantis and The Golden Puck, though.

This episode is very much like The king episode only instead of a Comic world it's a bug world. I too like the way Don explains that the teleport part was very different to the Utrom Teleport Device.
So far I know that April's Father loan April his Antique Shop and he has a Brother name Oggy O'Neil that discovered the Artifact. Knowing the artifact's origin might be reviewed later on. Just like how we first saw the Sword of Tengu and later on we learn more of it's secrets in the next season.

And the song is doable. I'm not going to complain about it too much. It was one of those to-pass-the-time moments and it went fairly quick. I really don't have any peeves about this ep in the slightest. In fact, I wish they would do more like them! Or, if not, I need to get my Tomb Raider games working again. |

Y'know, I actually really liked this episode. It got big points for an a$$-kicking April, as well as for Raphael's role. I got such a kick out of him fliping out over the bugs, and his face when he ripped April's shorts to shreds w/ the vines...priceless!
Overall, the humour in this epsiode was great; it made up for the more-than-slightly-overdone plotline in a big way for me. *thinks of the drugged-out bubbles each time a turtle got stung* And I admit, I REALLY liked the song *is an 80's music wh0re*

a better ep than i thought it would be. had some good humour and action. the story was not horrible either. definitely one of the better filler eps.

it was a decent episode, better than a lot of the other filler eps...but god, I hated that song so much. That sequence should have just been cut. I think this could have been very cool as a two or three parter if it was more developed. Most of the problems were just because it seemed rushed to get them to the place, have an adventure, and get them home in 22 minutes, thus, a longer version could have been very nice.

I like "Running free" & "It's a Jungle Out there" better than any of today's Rap and Hip Hop. Smooth Rock seems better to listen to on a Cartoon.
