Loved. Ben and Johnny Sue was cool too.

Im sorry Pedro Pascal was horribly miscast as Reed Richard’s. I read somewhere David Tennant wanted to try for Reed he would have been a million times better.


Ebon was perfect for Ben the guy who played Johnny was too.

Shala Ball was ok I prefer Noran.

Good movie better than the other F4 movies but I think Superman was still a smidge better than this one. Glad they didn’t spend a ton of time on the origin story.

We watched "Predators" tonight - the one with Adrian Brody, aka the 'other good Preadtor flick'.

Seen it several times but tonight was prep for release of the new movie in a few weeks....

Saw Primate last night. Didn't know much about it going in, but looked like an interesting supernatural or sci-fi horror survival thriller from the posters.

I thought it was immensely dumb, and resorted to several instances of "gross-out gore" on the various character details. Non-spoiler summation, it's a chimp who gets rabies almost as soon as the movie starts, but the main characters raised him to be highly intelligent (there's a dead mother in the backstory, no science-fiction or supernatural elements that I could see) and he communicates with the family using a talking electronic pad. But as soon as he gets rabies, he gets super vindictive to a super-villain level. He's not so much crazy and erratic, he's just darn mean while still apparently retaining his intelligence and memories of the family. And there's a house full of people who all make terrible decisions which drag the movie on way longer than it should go, despite it's relatively brief run-time of 89 minutes.

Felt like somebody wanted to setup their own Planet of the Apes franchise rip-off, but there's not any sequel-bait either (thankfully).

I just saw Ghosts of Mars after all of these years of hearing that it is terrible. It was actually okay in my opinion. I love John Carpenter movies and it was a neat concept.

Honestly just got done watching Monkey’s Magic Merry Go Round. It was pretty good. It’s a good sister movie to “Mr. crocket” more on the lower budget as you see 4 human faces in the entire film.

Like Mr. Crocket it gives you that “film version of Analog Horror” or “mascot horror” but this one is more of a psychological story.

And I think one of my favorite elements is when a story does the whole “your childhood but darker” is that at some point it drops the guise of the “childhood” and goes into its own thing, but for Monkey it starts as a “Mr. Rodgers” story and ends as a “Mr. Rodgers” despite the fire. It was a fun story of accepting the things that are out of your control. And not to let guilt consume you for things outside your control.

I think Brink her back was the standout. The things they did with teeth. Had me cringing in pain.
Obsession was great too, the only one of these I caught in the theatre.

Long Walk and Weapons were fine too, but I think I left it too long and neither meet the hype I had built up.

Saw Disclosure Day last night on the "Premium" screen experience.

Ugh.

Not "One of the Worst" movies I've ever seen (because I pride myself on getting acquainted with bad movies), but certainly one of the most disappointing relative to hype and budget. Just a lazy film overall with character moments that are almost entirely unearned since telepathy is the universal crutch to progress every plot point.

CGI was obviously advanced but not particularly convincing in any show I could see, and the movie took way too much pride in its re-imagination of historic "incidents" as if the audience should give an emotional experience.

To quote the Family Guy gag about The Godfather: "It insists upon itself."

Major characters are implied to have deep-seeded motivations as to the righteousness of their causes right up until the moment they no longer care... until they switch back to caring with almost religious enthusiasm... then give up their cause again. All narrative tension completely dissolves at the instant of dramatic climax as if it were simply quitting time and Workers' Union rules dictated it was time to end the shift. Giving the bulk of the actual "Disclosure" broadcast monologue to a non-character character was a seismic miscalculation since the audience has no investment despite a 2+ hour buildup.

Also, the movie never committed to its "World War III" backstory since the only time it really occurred to me there was a prior-established global problem was the Black Friday-level-of-enthusiasm raid on the Indiana convenience store's snack aisle.

Despite the delusional marketing and headline-baiting for this flick, the only deeply-held belief this movie made me question was my confidence in Spielberg as a masterful director. I suppose his career ought to be broken into a pre/post Kingdom of the Crystal Skull for retrospection.

Full disclosure, I decided to schedule a bathroom break during the big train action scene so I missed out on one of only two exciting spectacle sequences (no thanks to RunPee app for that one). I would have rather missed out on any number of the stilted big dialogue encounters instead.

The whole thing made me think "If they took a random episode of The Twilight Zone and expanded it into a film, this might be what we got." Which brings me to my next critique...
One final annoyance: the end credits cycle through like a PowerPoint slideshow instead of a traditional scroll. And they cycle WAY too fast to actually bother reading anything. I'm not just a guy who sticks around for post-credits scenes (there are none here, of course), rather I actually want to learn something interesting buried deep in the roll. Ironic for a movie that champions itself on pulling back the curtain on the bureaucratic red tape and need-to-know channels yet doesn't seem particularly interested in giving its audience full transparency on who is actually responsible for making the film. I REALLY hope this doesn't become a trend with movies going forward. That type of too-fast credits slideshow made me think I was watching... the end of a TV show episode, NOT a big-budget Hollywood production.

Now, after being disappointed that Prometheus, T6: Dark Fate, and Disclosure Day didn't live up to their hype or my own expectations of competency, the film I really want to see is one about Ridley Scott, James Cameron, and Spielberg on an 80 for Brady style road trip to break the monotony of their sad retirement home life where they just sit around and recollect about past glories and their lingering ideas that just won't ever measure up to their prior achievements. The whole film would just keep getting derailed by each director's stubborn insistence on chasing an idea if they could just make a movie anyway they want, ending with hilarious results.

I finally watched Deadpool and Wolverine and I was not disappointed. I absolutely loved how they brought back a lot of characters from previous Marvel movies. I also really loved the main villain who is a character that I didn't know anything about before. This is definitely my favorite Deadpool movie.
