Well, The 1st film was filmed in 2013, But took place in 2014, Since there was that scene where they fell into that 2014 sign.

So the sequel should be 2 years after the events of the first film, And the turtles would be 17 by then.

Where do you come up with these "rules" of yours, guy?

Dark Knight came out years after Batman Begins and was set like, a month or two later. Then Dark Knight Rises came out just a couple years later, but was set a whole 8 years later.

They can set the movie whenever the hell they want. When they filmed it means f***-all nothing. This movie could be two days later for all we know.

the timeline within the movie could literally be anytime...it could start the morning after the first film ends or 500 years late


just cause in real time its 2 years later you cant specualte that 2 years have passed on screen

The Muppets (2011) and Muppets Most Wanted (2014) were filmed 2 1/2 years apart yet Most wanted starts at the exact stop where Muppets 2011 ends..and in the time frame on screen takes place right after the events of the first one

Iron man and Iron Man 2 are the same exact way..and i am sure theres a ton of other movies i cant think of

We shall see when the film comes out, since the film opens with that car chase on the buffalo freeway, So there has to have been a passage of time when they are carrying the Shredder in a prison vehicle.

Do we also know for sure if this scene is the "opening scene"? Because movies are filmed completely out of order. You guys pay more attention than I do **coughcoughgetahobbycough** so if they came out and said this chase scene is the actual "opener" for the movie, I missed it. Otherwise it could theoretically be anywhere in the movie.

Again, if they did say it was the opener, though, then fine. I just missed that.

It's funny to me how people try and write the movie in their head based on these snippets they're allowed to see. SO much stuff got cut last time, I think it's safe to say you won't know anything about the movie "for real" until it comes out. Have fun, but relax a little bit.

Yes! There was a news report about the filming in Buffalo, and a reporter talked to the producer, And he said that the movie opens with this car chase.
