Official Info on the Nick TMNT Series

The Dark Knight route honestly means making it super realistic and as true to life as you can get. When the title of the damn thing is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles that flies out the window.

TMNT doesn't have to go harder. The first movie doesn't overly pander to kids and it's not too serious at the same time. Something along those lines is what they need. Use what brought them to the dance in the first place and expand upon it.

Blood and grit isn't going to magically solve everything and make TMNT a worldwide sensation again.

I honestly hope TMNT doesn't go the way of Popeye and Woody Woodpecker, as any Baby Boomer will say given how they're cultural relics of their era and had unsuccessful revivals. That's why I'm going to be so nervous for the next year, it's sort of make-or-break time for the franchise. But part of the reason that the late '80s/early '90s had TMNT everywhere was it targeted everyone from Toddlers (cartoon), kids (most TMNT stuff except for some comics) to teens (movies/comics) to young adults (movies) to parents (action figures for kids/watching the original cartoon). So far, G3 is off to a good start with the comics and Playmates is also backing up for Nick, but the big test will come next fall/holiday season to see how the show's ratings will perform. We want a nice mix of old and new stuff. I also don't want to be too spoiled (just 20 years ago the Internet was still a fantasy after all!)

But if My Little Pony can do it (I feel that it's more popular now than it was in the '80s), so can TMNT!

Out of all these times where I thought you were taking the fun out of things, I must say, you are quite right with this one.

We really don't need that much blood and grit for a revamp of TMNT. Heck, if people can't take the title seriously, maybe something like Ninja Turtles will do. I don't know. But seriously, folks. Gore will not make a franchise better. It will just make it sick. If you like sick, that's fine, but it's not happening for the TMNT. Kids still like it, but also some of the best things in life are not always rated R or M. We can include things for everybody.

Besides, when something is too serious, it just becomes one of those stories where there's too much fighting over one another. Which is why I can't stand too many fights between Raph and Leo. I don't mind it if it's real serious, but sometimes, it just gets old fast. Plus, I'm not in the mood for anything too emo where the hero goes all Peter Parker "Can't be Spiderman anymore." It just makes them look stupid when they think they have no purpose or they want to kill themselves. Let's have the conflict, but still make it a little bit light.

Forgive me. I'm expressing my feelings over some things. But, you get the point. You don't have to read everything I'm saying.

True,Blood and guts doesn't make anything better. But it would be great to see something that it isnt just geared for just kids. The first movie IMO struck a good balance between light and dark. I hope the new movie when ever it gets made captures that.

Yeah. I mean, it can have a few bloody moments as if Leo is bleeding from the mouth, but no blood splattering kind of scenes. This is TMNT, not Saw. But please, no swearing. "Damn" and "Hell" is one thing, but the others are disgusting.

Don't worry, Pannoni1. TMNT is not in the realm as Popeye and Woody Woodpecker. These dudes are with G.I. Joe and Transformers or something. With a franchise this big, it will probably (I don't know when) have its own convention. Still, I'm hoping it to be in the league with DC and Marvel. Power Rangers can't do it, but maybe the TMNT can.

I would have to agree that blood and grit are NOT the way to go if they want this series to be popular again. It would only alienate people.

There's a huge difference between a ninja killing somebody in a fight and a psychopath who tortures people.

I had no idea there was a Power Rangers convention. I guess since I don't like them that much, I haven't been aware of it. Forgive me.

And yes, Transformers is above TMNT, but still, it's gotta reach to their highest peak some time. Maybe not today or next year. Maybe a few years later.

Morphicon? Sorry. I can't get past some of the bad acting, weird plotlines, and horrible costumes for the villains. It's a show I can't take seriously. I can take TMNT seriously because it seemed to be serious in the first place. Besides, fighting, mutated turtles are cooler to watch than regular, teenage humans fighting in spandex uniforms, with the annoying white gloves and boots to accompany with. Sorry. It's not my thing.

TMNT has peaked. Some people have to accept that they're never going to reach the heights they did in the early 90s again.

Going the Dark Night route doesn't mean blood and gore. The flim had no gory and very little blood. It's a PG-13 film like most comic book films are.

I have to agree with this. No matter how much popularity the new show gets, there's no way the franchise will ever again reach the phenomenon status it had before. While it isn't impossible, it's extremely unlikely.

As for the blood and guts thing, as long as they don't overdo it, I'm content. I wouldn't mind mild swearing either.
