Yeah, I'm an animation buff, and FG just doesn't appeal to me in anyway. I used to love when I was 11, then I grew up and now I hate the show.

Er, beg pardon, but MAYBE you ought to watch this ep again when it reruns again.

When you do, you'll see that there are TWO Journals; the FAKE one that the boys read, after Splinter AND Cody warned them NOT to (AND that the latter two made on the Transindental (sp?) Lathe, knowing that our boys WOULD try to read it), AND the REAL one that April and Casey wrote AFTER Splinter and the boys disappeared, and that Cody was reading at the end of the ep. From what I saw of THAT one, the boys and Splinter WILL be going back to their own time eventually. WHEN, I don't know (NONE of us do.), but 4Kids OBVIOUSLY has something up their sleeves for later, where the series is concerned. We'll just have to wait and see what it is.

And I'm NOT trying to be hostile, cynical, or whatever here; please understand that. I'm just trying to be helpful.

On another note, I tend to agree with Spitfire, because I, for one, actually really LIKE Fast Forward. But then again, I like ANYTHING about the Turtles. (I can't speak for TNM 'cause I never got to see it, because I don't think that our local Fox station (or WHATEVER station that it was on!) carried it. (Or IF they did, it was on at a time that was incompatable with my schedule..which is the more likely scenario, actually.))

And I can only add this humble bit of advice to ALL of you FF-haters: If you don't LIKE Fast Forward, then just DON'T watch it...TMNT cartoon, or not...IF you all hate it THAT much. If I don't LIKE something, I sure as SHELL won't watch it (buy it; read it; whatever) just 'cause it's connected to something that I DO like...like the TMNT. (Case in point: the Image TMNT comic series. I bought one issue of that, read it, didn't like it, and gave it to my niece Ashley, who did. (Go figure.) WHY didn't I like it? Some of the stuff in it (I've read the comic-sysnopses about it on the official website, so I know the basic storyline.) was just a bit too-farfetched for me. And that is the ONLY TMNT comic series that I do NOT own, and have absolutely NO inclination to. Don't like it; won't buy it, or own it. 'Nuff said.

And I agree that Cody is a bit annoying, but so are my nieces and nephews upon occassion. That's just the nature of kids in general. And Cody has grown on me. He will never be my fave character (on FF, anyway); RAPH already holds THAT particular honor, and NOBODY is bumping HIM out of the No. 1 spot in my heart (he probably wouldn't let that happen, anyway ); but he's kinda grown on me. To the point that I get pissed whenever Darius pulls HIS crap! But then again, I absolutely do NOT like Darius Dun. Period. He's a creep, and a crook, and needs to be in jail.

Aaaaand that's MY humble two-cents on this subject.

I still prefer to think of >> as the amateurish attempt at a comic storyline by Mikey, riddled with continuity errors, poor character development and etc.

Well, I'd about agree with that, but... How can I (or anyone else) give their two cents without actually watching the show. I know I would like to be able to put forth an educated opinion. And no one will listen to anyone's opinion if they have no experience in the matter. Just asking, really.

Interesting. I mean, besides the fact that you only gave it one issue as a chance... But you like FF, but not Image? Out of curiousity... I mean, FF is some farfetched crap. Idyllic settings, notwithstanding, the list goes on and on. So what makes this so much different than Image?

They should rename it
Cody and his Turtle Friends

They turned my favorite show into pure CRAP !

The show revolves around nothing but CODY, Cant go anywhere , do anything without him and when their in trouble TURTLE CODY will save the day !

Since when have the turtles relied on a child to save them ?

Its no longer about the teenage mutant ninja turtles its all about CODY and his guardian turtles.

It started out pretty good for me, then it lacked a lot of important elements (dialogue, suspense, writing, character dimensions, etc.), then it got pretty good again those last few episodes. Still, when I heard this way back when, I pictured it with the same art as the 2k3 series, NY and the world are in peril like in the Tribunal story arc, the TMNT have to stop the alien takeover (even teaming up with Bishop), and there would be a number of great revelations around the history of the O'Neils and stuff. I was so pissed when everyone started hating the news but when I saw the animation for the FF preview I was like ".....Oh." and stuff. I still had a lot of (and probably still do) enthusiasm for the series and it's not TOO bad.
Overall, it's pretty decent but I just really want my 2003 TMNT back now!

I must admit, I bought the Fast Forward Dvd on a leap of faith, for my love of the turtles. I had only seen one episode on tv and i said nah. But honestly, I must say I am surprised in a good way. Yes, the animation and depth is far from the 2k3 series...as well as the annoying Cody.

But on the other hand I couldn't help but had fun with it. I guess for the same reason as why I love TMNT 2 movie lol, for fun. Now I would be the first to want a darker, more mature show...but i liked the interaction between Raph and Mikey in Fast Forward (as well as in the 2k3).

And also it featured perhaps one of my favorite moments in TMNT canon.....Mikey making a little puppet version of Raphael and carrying it on his back/chatting with it throughout the episode, and the reaction the real Raph had with the whole thing....that was so funny and cute lol.

Mikey must feel real disassociated from Raph that he'd allow his subconscious to physically create a more "loveable" Raph. Raph needs to hug him. I can picture it now.
(Don and Leo push Raph and Mikey so close their chests touch but Raph and Mikey pull their heads the other way while Splinter or Cody shouts: "Raph, HUG YOUR BROTHER!")

I admit that I didn't give Fast Forward a chance. I didn't like the direction it was taking and actully removed it from my DVR recording list. I thought it was a slap in the face of the 2K3 series and a cheep attempt to sell toys. I passed up on getting the season set, despite it being under ten bucks. I finally caved in and purchsed it a few days ago. I watched the first disc and realized that it wasn't as bad as I thought it was. Sure, it's more kid friendly, and the slapstick is played up a bit too much, but the fighting sequences are still very well staged and there are some interesting new characters. It has potential, and if done right, could become a really stellar series. That all being said, I still want the boys to get back to our time and continue the 2K3 storyline.

So I got the Fast Forward dvd set the other day and started watching it. It's not terrible, but it's not excellent either. I guess they felt a need for variety, but I don't know why they bothered. It's worth watching, but I miss the shows before it. They were great. I really feel like they're trying to dumb the show down some for a younger audience. That stupid intro supports my feelings on that. But even as a seven-year-old, I would have liked the series before FF better.

So does anyone know for certain, that the turtles will go home? Will the shows go back to normal, or is it all hands up? I guess it's more of a wait and see kind of thing, but I also finally got rest of season 4 the other day too and I want more. And I actually thought season 4 had been released already with the 5 episodes discs. I thought it was just a marketing thing, but I'm glad I read on this site somewhere that it had different episodes.

Fast forward is ok. But to tell you the truth I've only seen like four episodes. Of course it really didn't appeal to me all that much. It just seemed too... bright for me. Bright can be good as shown in the older series. Next mutation was also bad due to this but i guess it was meant to be bad because of those annoying sound effects and horrible animatronics and corny villians.Although I must admit I thought the initial idea of Dragon Lord was cool it's just the horrible execution of his character. Anyways back to the point. It being too bright especially after the darker more serious 2k3 series just takes away from the awesomeness of it. I guess I'll try watching more eps but I don't see why I should watch something I don't enjoy. I'm sure this change is temporary but the simple fact is that the new tmnt series won't ever be the same. For better or for worse.
peace

I don't know why, but I feel that Raphael and Mikey get along better in FF. I haven't watched to many episdes but I can't recall any intances of Mikey and Raph bickering or trying to kill each other. I don't think Raph (or any of the other turtles) has even smacked him in this series yet? Hmm. but then all the relationships the characters had with one seem to be watered down. I think Mikey just made the puppet to annoy Raphael LOL.

But to get back to the FF thing. I wouldn't have a problem with them being in the future if it was done in 2k3 style of animation and story telling, and if they incorporated some volume four story lines into it. ANd also if the FF fopeward thing was only temporary.

Yeah, I wouldn't have a problem with FF is it was like that. If it was a 5 episode story arc or something, o.k.(in fact I'd encoperate some SAINW elements into it), but not a total replacement for a good show.

Peter Laird says he wants to wrap things up in season 2 and bring the boys back home.

That's assuming the show will get a Season 7, (or wait, that would be a Season 8, right? Damn, the season numbers are getting confusing now).

Peter Lairds statement could be interpeted that he wants to wrap up the show altogether and bring the boys home and call it a day. There's no guarentee that we'd get a new season in the present when FF ends at all.
