I voted the 1987 cartoon. While I've enjoyed the 2003 version, I prefer Raphael as the lovable smartypants as opposed to angry and rebellious.

Yeah but mainly April's absence was what made it seem weird. Especially since the series seems to follow on from the movies (I see the turtles' sewer home is the same as the Turtles 2 and 3 set) and the turtles have no human contacts apart from Andre (Splinter's chess opponent!).

Why isn't April in the show? While Venus is not, April is one of the first characters I think of when I think of TMNT no matter which version.

Hard choice, but I say the 2k3 toon even if I didn't like Fast Forward so much. I like the characters more than in the OT (not only their designs, but their personality and other things as well) and I think the story is great too.

What I know, it has never been stated if they follow the movies or are an own TMNT version.

It shared some background elements with the movies, like the lair, Splinter's missing ear, etc, but the absense of April, the appearence of Shredder, and numerous other things make it decidedly its own universe.

I would rather see April or Irma than Venus. I'm not a fan of her, and that's not because she's not original or because she's a girl, but because she used those magic balls. She should used martial arts.
