Wow. If you really think How to train your dragon isn't as good as TMNT. You must have some sort of crippling brain disorder or you haven't seen the movie and you're just being an idiot. Kung Fu Panda too. Those movies are GALAXIES better than TMNT. TMNT is in a league with Doogal and Hoodwinked 2.

Sesame Street is awesome. Follow that bird is also better than TMNT.

Wall-E and How to Train Your Dragon are leaps and bounds better than TMNT.

i didn't say kung fu panda was worse than TMNT. And besides, those are my opinion. To me TMNT isbetter than most animated films is all because of my love for the turtles, nothing else. You gotta look at it from a certain point of veiw, to know where i'm getting at.

Stephan! How dare you use silly things like FACTS!

Are we as Turtle fans so blind as to just say thing like the Turtles are as big as Batman, Spider-man, and other mainline comic characters and to say that TMNT is on par with vastly superior CG films like Wall-e and How to Train Your Dragon without any real reasoning or logic to back it up? Are we really THAT diluted? (Don't answer that Stryker...)

I like Fringe. They use "fringe" science to investigate a series of unexplained, often ghastly occurrences, which are related to mysteries surrounding a parallel universe. Although I do not think it will be that literal, some of the Triceraton stuff could be considered a little bit "out there".

Even I can admit that TMNT (2007) was not that great.

I actually liked walle, not as much as TMNT. On the other hand How to train your dragon wasn't my favorite, but it was still good.

Acid, This is just a sketch he did, i doubt this is for the movie. I think he was just having some fun.

As for the TMNT movie, I know it wasn't the greatest, but I still wish there was another. The reason is, they hinted at shredder, which would be better than the monster mumbo jumbo (Which I still thought was good) My opinion of course.

I think it sucked ass but that was Warner's fault not Munroe's.

Because they famously cut off Munroe's balls and tied his hands -- I'm not sure in which order. I don't blame Munroe one bit for the way things turned out, he's a cool guy. If left to his own devices he would have given us "City at War"... not Pokemon Green: The Movie/Playstation 1 FMV, which is the way it turned out with all the suits.

...Just go away Andrew, it's never happening and you know it. The Turtles are seen as kids icons and their far more interesting and wholesome morality is centerfold to just about every version period. The MIRAGE and overrated IDW books are irrelevant in the long run, you will never get your way, so stop infesting every thread on this movie with your useless doom-report DRIVEL. Accept there's more than one version of TMNT, and either like it or...you know, DON'T BLOODY WATCH IT. Some of us on the other hand will keep discussing and looking forward to it because unlike you, we CAN accept other versions.

And TMNT wasnt a bad film at all.
H-holy hell. Where did that come from? He already said it was pretty much a forgone conclusion he wouldn't enjoy the new TMNT movie, likely for all the reasons you mentioned (TMNT always falling into its comfortable kid-tween niche in larger media), and was pretty much at peace with it.

Then he gave a fairly realistic set of circumstances for this movie's production that will likely leave it in the territory of popcorn-flick mediocrity we've seen from just about every toy/comic franchise not named Batman in the past ten years, which I think is also fair.

While I vastly prefer Mirage to other incarnations, I have a soft spot for nearly all Turtles fiction and am completely comfortable with other takes. But I still have little faith this movie will exceed any expectations, no matter the time frame.

And it's been reasonably backed up over the last page, but TMNT wasn't, by any means, a good movie. I think it hits some rather decent notes as a fan even if it wasn't quite what I wanted, but it certainly wasn't anything near a success by critical or commercial standards.

Seiously, Zarius, take a chill pill! I used to get upset with Andrew for the way he talks about the more kid-friendly variations of the TMNT, but in the long run I gotta respect his feelings. Alteast he still likes the TMNT in general. Plus sometimes he can be right about certain aspects of those kid-friendly iterations.

I don't think we need a "Deep" TMNT movie, just an entertaining one that can stand alongside what DC and Marvel are doing.

Then it needs to be "deep" because that's part of what makes them successful.

Uhhh. No? There's nothing deep about any of the Avengers movies and they do just fine. Its a Superhero comic movie talking about 'deep' is a joke to me. As long as they're entertaining and put together well they're good movies.

When you get all of the talk of society and symbols to the community in the Batman it just reeks of pretentiousness.

Also. Ninja Turtles. There was never a deeper meaning to that.

Well actually, there CAN be a deeper meaning to Ninja Turtles, it's just they won't do it..

How about the fact that you have 4 brothers who are true outsiders...they will never know the joy of, say, falling in love...or having a kid...or having the 'white picket fence life'....having a family of any kind, or a future for their species...anytime they would try to show their face, they'd be called a freak, or a monster, and get someone to capture and dissect them.

Even heroes like Iron Man, Batman, Spider-Man, and X-Men...they still are, or at least LOOK, human (again, for the most part, I know there's a few X-Men who don't)...so they can still go out, get girlfriends, go to the mall, etc. without worrying about being caught, killed, and more.

Even if one of them for some reason did fall in love with a human, it'd never work out and it'd be a tragic story from the start. And of top of that, even their ostracized life is Further problematic with the various new enemies they gain, or when they get hurt they can't just 'go to the hospital', or even the simple fact that they got to live in disease-infested sewers for most of their lives...

So they can be deep...
