This episode was my favorite so far, which is what I said about the last one, and the one before that, so that's definitely a good sign! Each episode hits on all cyclinders with a nice balance of humor and action. This episode was funny, had some great nods to past TMNT series, action packed with some great fight scenes that were well choreographed, and most importantly it had great character building moments & advanced the plot in a huge way.

Really looking forward to the Turtles engaging Shredder.

Splinter seems much younger & more spry in this series, which is a very welcomed change for this new take. I have always dug the wise old teacher aspect of Splinter, but I really hope in this series, where he hasn't seem as old & fragile, that we see him take more of an active role in fighting alongside with the turtles and kicking some series Foot Clan butt. In the past we've seen Splinter kick some butt and tangle with Shredder & other villains, but he's usually pretty banged up & really showing his age afterwards. With this Nick series the April is obviously younger, and the Turtles seem less mature (earlier in their teenage years) so it'd be cool if Splinter was a little younger as well.

I'd love to see a Shredder vs. Splinter fight where Splinter's age & fraility doesn't seem to be an issue.

This was a great episode. It's good to see things come into form.

Have you guys noticed how the Turtles and the Foot run by leaning way the hell forward? Who runs like that, LOL? (It's cute, though.)

No, it was basically about Xever's attempt at defeating the Turtles after Chris Bradford failed the first time around.

Loved this episode. The dynamic between the brothers is always well-done, and the message about mercy and the way it played out was interesting.

My only nitpicks with the battle sequences have to do with blades, and the fact that whenever people fight with them, it's like there's a bubble between them so that they hit to sides of each other. I understand the constraints of a kids TV show, but it just looks awkward, especially with Xever who comes in close enough to actually cut the turtles several times.
And the turtles should stop attacking Bradford overhead. The man catches blades in mid-air! The only time it worked was when they bagged him.

its supposed to be the way a ninja would move forard, compadre...by leaning that much forward and stretching your arms backward you're more aerodynamic it seems...
but i have to admit I smiled a little when I first saw this but once I saw what they were going for I became a fan of this style..

metropoliskid41 I am all with you, I feel the same way about each weeks episode and I cannot wait to own a wonderful dvd set of many episodes one day and see them in one run from my bed....

I thought today I really hope this show breaks the record of number of shows of its beautiful predecessors!!go turtles go!

It reminded me of Naruto, actually.

But apparently there's a trope

Ah, I see. Cool.

As for Karai, I never saw that on Shredder's bio. I always thought that his adopted daughter would be Miwa and that he wouldn't rename her. I hope this isn't the case as I want Karai to not be Shredder's daughter this time around.

I fell behind again, but thankfully I got to watch the last two episodes back-to-back yesterday.

The latter one, the Xever one, was possibly my favorite episode yet, but it's hard to say for sure. We've gotten to see what makes most of these characters tick now, so I'm already growing really attached to this incarnation (this is definitely my favorite Donnie, and quite possibly my favorite or second favorite Leo).

The OT Mikey face-swap thing caught me COMPLETELY off guard. I almost died laughing since I was taking a sip of my drink at the moment. I should consider suing.

Excellent episode!
My favourite scenes:
1. Leo doing the Rock Lee fighting pose against gangster with the butcher knife (the soundtrack was too awesome)
2. Mikey's kusarigama trick against Bradford
3. Mikey owning Foot ninja on the rooftop
4. Every other fight scenes lol
5. Splinter being Splinter
6. Xever being a boss with fantastic oneliners (*chuckles* "He's not my friend")
7. The last scene of the episode with Shredder

Check it out - the PD guy's got what looks like an axe gang symbol on his vest.

I love that movie. But, when I was checking it out I found out the axe gang shows up in a handful of martial arts films. I guess it's based on a real gang from back in the day.

Agreed. Splinter seems much more capable of doing some serious damage and offering the turtles more help in this series. I really like that aspect of it, there is no question of master/students.

Loved this episode. Can't wait to see what ensues from here.

Kung fu hustle is hilarious " who is throwing handles?"

Anyways...I loved this episode the fight scenes are amaizing and that xever dude proved to be a really badass villain I like him way better than Bradford.
I'm really amazed with this show the writing is so good and now I sort of find it hard to have a favorite turtle, I really like how they have shown more of their personalities and interactions.

a solid episode. Really enjoy Xever's wickedness and Shredder is really intimidating in the few scenes he is in.
