That's why I said you guys who have received your issue 18 already should see that as a nice little reward for collecting all the covers. Hardcore collectors of all covers deserve a little extra every now and then
if not for the strike, i think we would have all gotten them pretty much at the same time (besides mail time).
its not like the variants always ship to the stores and they send 'em out early. (although i've heard of some shops getting books on mondays or something once or twice before).

I like how I got my Dimension X variant of #18 a week early, but am still waiting on my Dynamic Forces variant of Foot Clan #1 nearly a month later! Some companies are on the ball and some just don't have it together at all!

Same here haha

I have my 18, but still havent read it yet. Been busy as all hell. I usually buy the hard copies and read the digitals on the iPad which isnt available yet.

As a collector of all these books and covers, they still get me to buy digital copies as well.

dag yo, you're keeping this comic afloat!

Banking on the diehard TMNT fanbase with the huge amount of variant covers (and digitial distribution) is one of the smartest financial moves IDW has made with the property. I wonder how much more $ they've made off fans collecting every cover?

I'm the same way now. I collect all covers and started out reading my A Cover copy since it holds the least value if it took any minor read wear. But when I downloaded a couple for a trip on my iPad I actually found I enjoy reading them digitally more than hard copy. It's possible that it's because this way I can enjoy the story without worrying about creasing the comic or wearing the spine or something. And there is something to be said for appreciating the physical media form of the artwork. But this way just seems easier. So I went back and downloaded the back library for the IDW stuff so now I have it all accessible! Between all the variant covers, trades, Mirage re-releases, uber expensive Ultimate collections, etc. I really should look into officially investing into IDW. That might help justify some of my spending!

Got mine this past Monday, read it that night as well.

Since a lot of folks check out the preview, I'll start right after that:
Spoiler:
The story picks up with the Turtles caught in the crossfire and the Neutrinos improvising a plan to save the princess. Naturally, Mike has to help a pretty girl in need of saving and leaps into action, the others following to make sure Mike doesn't get in over his head (which strikes me as odd, as Mike has always been the most naturally talented of the Turtles).

The plan works, but we find Krang has the King and Queen, and goes on live broadcast exclaiming either the citizens of Neutrino turn over the Fugitoid or watch their leige get their brains blown out.

That is when the Turtles get the rundown on just what a Fugitoid is, given the narration in true Mirage fashion by none other than Che-I mean, Honeycutt himself. We also get a teaser on the Krang Micro when he shares the brief history of Quanin (in classic-style Android Body) setting out to capture Neutrino after the Utroms's planet was destroyed and the ooze was created to keep the remaining Oots in stasis.

Switch back to Earth, we see April and Casey heading to StockgGen Labs to discover Chet's secret. April dips in after hours and chats up Lindsay about the "secret turtle retrieval" much to Lindsay's surprise. After nudging info out of Lindsay, we cut to Karai listening in outside, now with information about Stockman's location: Burnow Island

I'm sure I left out something, but it's been nearly 4 days since I read it.

I read off my iPad due to me being in IT and I travel alot. It leaves lots of time to sit around and read when I am not on a plane, and quite frankly I dont want to be seen hauling around 18 comics in my carry on. iPad on the other hand is functional and explainable.

I do my part to pay Eastman for his work. I have all the Blue labels and figures as well...keep the TMNT going!

We don't get it back with this much gusto very often.

(Comic,figures, and cartoons)

The credit card I used expired from the time I placed the pre-order back in October. I've tried for the last 2 months to get ahold of someone there to update it and I can't reach anybody. The emails go unreplied and whenever I call in I get directed to some person's voicemail who of course never returns my messages. I'm beginning to wonder if this is a real company or not LOL.

DF customer service does suck. But I have ordered from them before... Just wait. At some point you will get an email saying your card info is wrong Or they already charged it. I think mine has been...

So turns out #18 has faced another set-back: http://forum.idwpublishing.com/viewt...8cee403#326848

But at least half the country is getting it... and all digital buyers. For those of us who don't get it, that'll be nine weeks between #17 and #18.

well, doesn't that suck...
i was planning another trip to NH & then Shellback on the way home just specifically to get this next weekend... I mean, I have the Dimension X variant, but the regular copies, not to mention the ones I ordered online of the Nirvana variant (a couple for me and some for friends/fans of Nirvana & Turtles).

Delays will be the death of this title...

My comic store said it was going to be able to order the DF version in addition to the normal #1 covers, so hopefully they will get it in due course.

I believe it's because the DF version was listed on Diamond... they can't get the Jetpack releases in for example, so I have to buy those myself.
