Official Episode Discussion #20: "Enemy of my Enemy"

I have a theory of what Shredder will do with that Kraang:

- Obviously he's going to study it to see what the Kraang are made of.

- An accidental experiment with mutagen will cause this Kraang to become super-intelligent, much moreso than the average Kraang.

- This super-intelligent Kraang will then demand an android body, and become "The" Krang resembling the one from the original cartoon.

- Krang will work with Shredder for a while into Season 2, until he breaks free and tries to become the leader of the Kraang after Kraang Prime dies in the finale of Season 1.

Good point. That makes me even more curious as to how the Kraang will be kept alive and communicated with. Maybe Shredder will go after Baxter and threaten him to help with it?

The Kraang dialogue was super funny. Kraang rules!
Leo just had to listen to Raph and mess things up. But I had the feeling their truce wouldn't last very long. And I loved Raph pulling Donatello away before he embarrassed himself even further. And I liked Shredder's reaction to seeing the Kraang's flying ship. Mikey had a couple of funny lines. As in needing to change his shell and he was reason for the smell. Donnie's face after that.

Ok, that was pretty epic! Can't wait to see what Shredder does with that Kraang!

I think my fav line is from April: "She's your mortal enemy, but hey, she's PURDY!" lol! She's so jealous.

And gotta love Donnie's awkwardness, never fails to amuse.

I agree with everyone this episode was on point with little to no flaws. The turtles were great, we finally found out why Mikey says Booyakasha, Leo's moments (and there was plenty:taking Raphael's bike like a boss and telling him to suck it up was one of the top moment),the Shredder getting a Kraang of his own. It really was a 10/10.

Seeing that "Cowabunga/Booyakasha Shredhead" was awesome.

Yeah, "Cowabunga, Shred Head" was an obvious nod to the original cartoon. Love the writers for that.

Great episode. The tension between Shredder, Karai, and Leonardo just left me guessing and I was shocked that Karai attacked the Turtles after believing she would get some weapons at that port and sneak back to the Turtles. This marks the second battle with Shredder against the Turtles, and at least the Turtles had better defense allowing him to retreat while also taking down the Krang ship. In a way, both the Foot and the Turtles had a moral victory since Shredder is destined to bring the Kraang to their side. I like the controls on the Shellraiser and felt that the explanation by Don telling Mike that all that he needs to understand was to launch the explosive and strike the enemies. It also presents the element of sacrifice by showing that while someone may seem friendly to you, the reality is that the big baddie is in charge and that you need to duel against them while giving up your wannabe partner.

Overall: 9/10

Also the fight with Shredder lacked the intensity of The Gauntlet. Hard to top that though. And you have to ponder the turtle intent in "taking Shredder down"... They know he wants them dead, so were they ready to return the favor? I mean, they can't just take him to jail, ya know?

Still a really good episode though. Great action, mostly good humor. Favorite joke was Donnie discovering the joys of teasing his brother over his "girlfriend". Also Leo's icon for Don on his phone was Dr. Mindstrong lol.

Agree about the intensity of the fight, I was really hoping for another killer throw down, especially when Leo got separated from his brothers and Shredder popped out of that crate, lol
Okay, loved this episode, though, overall, Donnie fumbling around April was absolutely wonderful, Leo trying to please Karai, then his brothers was marvelous, confusing advice continues from their Father and that Bike SCENE! OMG when Leo catches Karai out of the air!! Loved it. LOVED it.

I wish we could've gotten more from Leo when he finds out about Karai being Shredder's daughter, a bit more, I don't know confusion and sadness, he's got feelings for her still, despite his actions, that's clear. poor Leo.

Michelangelo was cute as ever, that whole scene with Donatello and April saying "she's purty" referring to Karai, that was just cracking me up!
Overall, an excellent episode.

I definitely think the score should've been higher, they didn't even give any negatives...so why the average score?

Mikey made this episode for me.
With that said though I really found this episode boring until Shreder came on.
Karai is so boring on this show and her horible flat design just makes it so hard to watch when she is on the screen.
I mean seriously the Russian weapons dealer had more detail to him and it was probably the only time we will ever see the guy.
She just sticks out so much because every other character has depth and detail to their designs.
Really loved the ending though and I can't wait to see what Shredder does with that Kraang.
On a related note my prtners dvr didn't record the very end bit there with Karai, Shredder, & the Kraang so I had to get up at 11:00am to watch again and see what went down.
Well worth it though for that oh crap moment.

It got an 8.5, how do you think that's average? That means its a great episode.

I think their lowest score was a 7.4 for the Pulverizer episode.

yeaaaah.... all of that is very highlt unlikely.... If anything, even if it somehow got hit with Mutagen, which he has no access while under Foot captivity... he wouldn't most likely mutate into a full fledged monster and wouldn't need an android body.

There is no THE Krang in this show... there is Kraang Prime though, who we have yet to see.

I can't think what Shredder would keep a Kraang around for. Its not like they're literally going to show them dissecting it or something.

Not show, maybe imply. I'm thinking more of intense interrogation and using him to get all their sci-fi tech... possibly the portal. If anything, that poor little guy will be treated worse than Baxter... which isn't exactly what I call 'teaming up'.

good thing Baxter bailed on Shedder.....which begs the questions, how's the poor little alien gonna survive without a body? cause they don't breathe air right?
