Well, I gotta agree with the rest of you - this episode was awesome. Slash looks great in action! I love how much bigger and stronger he is than the rest of the turtles, that's how it should be. Can't believe they went full-on evil with him though, that was a nice twist. I bet he'll come back pissed at first, but end up being their ally eventually. Guess there's no doubt about it now though - after this and Mutagen Man, it's obvious the mutagen can mess with one's head.

- Nice to see turtles without masks. It's amazing how different each model looks, you don't even need the gear to tell who's who.

- I also like seeing the turtles get the snot beat out of them. I really love the battle damage especially, and how Raph administered some first-aid on the fly. Really lends some suspense and intensity to the action. In the OT I remember them getting knocked down, but that was about it - they always returned home unscathed, like in every other cartoon. This show though... jeez, Raph checking to make sure Mikey was still breathing - that's pretty dark! Good stuff.

- Gravelly Cory Feldman voice is kickass.

- First shots of Raph's bedroom, can't wait to get some close-ups of that. Funny that he has a drum set. My daughter (five) has a set, and every time she gets sent to her room she rage-drums in there for a few minutes. I can kind of see Raph doing the same thing.

- And a little sad to see Spike go.

Another enjoyable episode.

Liked:
- Leo's wild chase to get the mutagen cannister
- great sequences with leo hiding or interacting with humans in the city, love that they were able to fit that in as i've been very vocal about the lack of humans populating the city in the past. i don't think they need to focus on it a lot but when they are able to highlight it every so often like shown in this ep, it makes the world feel a lot more real and lived-in. So yeah it really pleased me that they addressed that.
- spike's design, voice and combat prowess, he's a lot of fun to see in action
- turtles without their masks! always dig seeing that
- some brutal fights, with raph and leo getting in some good hits. probably one of the most brutal since the turtles encountered Shredder in The Gauntlet
- spike taking the turtles' bandanas as trophies, tying them around his arm
- got to see Raph's room a little closer. I'd like to see Leo and Don's room now, as I think those are the only ones that haven't been explored very well. Oh and Splinter's, I doubt he lives in the dojo Or does he?

Not-so-much:
- formula of New Mutant Introduced/Fight New Mutant/Mutant Escapes at the end is starting to be overused. I love seeing new characters but would like to see more interesting arcs in the episodes. At this point we have a pretty big collection of mutant enemies in the wild.
- yet another re-use of the pizza guy. Oh well, can't win em all It was a pretty cool sequence. And he has good taste in music.
- struggling to come up with any other criticisms

I'd rate this one somewhere around an 8/10.

P.S. - I now have a growing wishlist of fights/encounters I want to see. The #1 right now being Leatherhead / Slash. Would love to see these two big bads go at it

No doubt. I was just thinking earlier, that all these aliens, mutants and ninjas suddenly running around NYC might be a good reason to introduce a certain smirking G-man...

All I wanna know is where do the escaped mutants go, is there a mutant motel or something? You cannot tell me that nobody's seen Snakeweed or Spiderbytez hopping round. And Slash too. Guy's going through buildings like Mr Incredible.

I nearly wept at the episode. So, so good. So much mortal peril.

Is it just me or has, after the 1st two episodes, this season straight been on fire? Every episode has been from great to superb.
I think when you're revamping or starting a new show from scratch, the first season tends to be chocka with introductions to settings and characters. Gets a bit tedious when you know (or think you know) everything and everyone.

They've done that now and with Nickelodeon giving the team more freedom, they can push for darker, grittier, more intense storylines. I don't think it'll get as dark as I believe the Mirage comics were (I have no experience of them - please excuse any assumptions that I'm incorrect with) but I reckon they'll try their hardest to get as close as a cartoon can.

OOOOhhh boy, this episode was so much fun! I'm a fan of the dark stuff and Slash tying the turtles' masks around his arm like trophies was just freaky! I knew when I heard his voice that he was gonna squick me out. Glad to know I was right! And it just gets creepier knowing how something THAT big can sneak around so quietly . . . and copy voices . . . and beat you to a pulp . . . and how relentless and focused he is going about it . . . But he could still turn good. I think he's so single minded (delusional) that it's going to take a third party or new friend to make him realize what he's doing is wrong. If not, I think he's the type to only get more and more obsessed and possibly become buds with the Shredder. They seem to share the same philosophy now.

And i love Leo and the little girl! It was so funny seeing Mister Serious having a cute little tea party with her! She was all like, "You've got to stick out your pinky Mr. Turle! Geez, haven't you been to a tea party before?" And He's all like, "Um, I'm a turtle. We don't have pinkies." He is so sweet. LoL, and he promised to bring the tea next time! AWWW! Speaking of little girl's, I like how the city looked bigger and more populated! It didn't seem like empty houses all around.

The ending was touching as well. It tied in to how Splinter lost his loved ones but was able to keep going thanks to his new family. Very strong episode!

One of the best episodes EVER. I can't even articulate, I'd have to set aside an hour to type up my excitement. Demonsweat & Zulithe summed my thoughts up pretty good.

The plot was a tad thin. I guess they didn't want to cram so much in the same episode, but they should have gone an actual mission rather than have Leo do the tea party. They should have had the Foot or the Kraang after the cannister too.

Loved this episode. It was a great episode for both Raph and Leo. Loved Raph's realization that his brothers are important to him and he doesn't want Slash hurting them. Also loved Leo's solo adventure to get the mutagen canister. His tea with that little girl was freakin' adorable! I melted when I saw that, and I already have a plot bunny for a new fan fic concerning Leo and the girl. I also loved the end where Splinter told Raph to focus on the ones he had in the present and to not dwell on who he's lost. That was great. Feldman's voice was perfect for Slash, and he did a great job. Overall, a really good episode.

And, no, Slash's mutation didn't remind me of Don because Don looked different from Slash altogether.

is it sad that i found feldmans voice better as slash than his live action role as donatello in the first movie...not saying he was bad i liked it but to him i didn't get a feel of donatello from him.

That...was... AWESOME!!! This entire episode was just incredible. And Slash was handled very nicely, and the final fight between him and Raph was one of the best fight scenes yet in this show, right alongside the Shredder fights in "The Gauntlet" and "Showdown". And I liked that he could smell mutagen and inmate Leo's voice. Can't wait to see him again!

The Leo sub-plot was cute as well. "Bye, Mr. Turtle!"

Great episode, loved the tea party part, and Slash was a very good fighter.

I also like that there a lot more humans around and some new human designs.

hi guys, I just saw the episode, but I was a little disappointed by it.
while I liked slash in his appearance(personally could live without these huge sharp things on his torso and his whack looking snout but enjoy his claws, they are really awesome in my opinion) I found the episode's happenings too boring...I mean the guys just try to retrieve another ooze canister again.slash is the new thing here and they just fight for most of the episode(I thought the choreography here didn't excite me anywhere as much as the last two episodes' fight scenes did) and at the end he simply disappears off screen;(...
I was surprised how cold splinter seemed in the beginning towards his son and pupil...I guess he was pissed by his attitude a bit...
it felt to me like there was nothing really to gain from the story this time..
except the information that a huge mutated turtle is now cut loose running around somewhere in new york.
hope his next appearance will be much more interesting.I wondered why he was so mean spirited at all..I mean I can't argue the characters give information on that question in the episode I just still cant believe that thats all...
oh well, you can't win em all every time.
Im glad though that most of you seemed to enjoy it very much so.

If you had a good eye, in Raph's bedroom was a set of drums! I always thought Mikey would be the drummer.

The last time any Turtle played an instrument was on the Next Mutation episode, Good Dragon, where Mikey messed on the organ.

This was the only episode I haven't loved this season. Leo's subplot was nice, but the main story was thin and totally predictable. And it doesn't count as "character development" for Raph because let's face it, Raph doesn't develop. He seems ok most of the time and then occasionally he flares up and it's always over the same dumb stuff. Which is why it's more fun when Raph doesn't flare up.

So anyway, yeah, I was hoping this episode would surprise me somehow but it became the standard Raph emo-whiny-stomping-around-for-no-reason-oh-no-wait-I-love-my-brothers-really stuff. There were no surprises at all.

well given raph was pissed at mikey for ruining his comic and leo told raph to chill but raph told leo that he always stick up to mikey and when raph met slash he thought it'd be a awesome idea to have a own team group but what raph didn't know is that slash wanted to kill his bros and it made raph kinda sorry for what he did to his brothers and stuff.

Leo's side adventure was the comedy to take the heat off the brutal beatings Slash was giving the Turtles.

The tea time aspect was great and made this episode funny after Slash was on a rampage.

I really liked this episode. Slash was awesome. I was really skeptical of Corey Feldman doing the voice but I thought he did a really great job.

yeah, part of y slash wanted 2 kill them was cause of raph going on about how they treated him 4 several yrs but at the same time, I think raph going on about slash being evil, etc was wrong cause if u treat some1/something like a monster/evil/psycho, that's wat they will become, so in the end, it might bring about worse attitudes from slash but depends on how slash thinks of raph after that last bit of the fight
