I don't know what you guys are talking about, movie looks great. I also think this is the most interesting live action Supergirl we've ever gotten. I actually just watched the 80s movie for the first time the other day and well that movie is certainly 80s. I don't see many movies in theaters but I'll probably watch this one.

I've actually watched everything in the DCU so far, and it hasn't even been my intention. That Green Lantern show is going to break the streak tho

It wasn't bad, just disappointing after the first season. Should've been half as long and been better.

This was literally the hook for James Gunn, I think. Except he forgot that he made sure nobody liked that dog in the last movie.
I loved Krypto in the movie, he was far more likeable than Superman.

The way the fat black actress lifted her leg over that white fence, there's no believeable way to me she could lift her weight up over that fence like that (along with the people not catching up to her).

I just don't believe fat black women can move that fast. She would have either toppled over, lost her breath, or falling down when she lifted that one leg over the white fence. (also after that, the Nazi crowd jump in the pool and chase after her through the pool water for some reason, instead of you know, running alongside the pool instead).

Once that happened, I knew I could not take the season seriously. That fat black women should of keeled over right then and there and been out of breath.
I can outrun ya' any day skinny boi!

I found it. Watch this scene and tell me this makes any sense:

There's also a part before this, she is so fat, yet she manages to outrun 20+ people chasing her, then look how she hops her large body over that fence in the house, it stretched plausibility for me because I'm pretty sure fat people don't have any athletic ability...?

If this was real life she'd be panting and out of breath in 10 seconds and then keeling on the floor as they caught up to her.

Why are you so obsessed with fat black women cubed? I thought you hated them

It could very well be the best Supergirl we've ever seen in live action, for sure. But that's a pretty low bar.

Personally I think (maybe after these... apparently 8 test screenings -- which is sounding like a new record? -- and different cuts?) we'll end up with something pretty good. But like maybe Ant-Man 1 good. Like, "That was... eh... pretty OK, right?" And then we forget about it in a week. At best. But I think there is a very thin road to this movie making much money.

Krypto did get knocked down way less than Superman, at least. As in Superman got knocked down/out about 20 times in the movie and Krypto only got knocked down once, and the punch that did it was cut out of the movie.

They had another trailer for this before the Mandalorian today, and not only was I entirely disinterested, but I realized that they cast a Supergirl who looks like Jackie Earle Haley.

Who casts a Supergirl that literally no one would dream of tappin'?

The movie is likely going to shape up to be fairly average, you can tell by the trailers and what we know of the plot. I don't think it'll be a bad movie but a fairly standard/average movie that nobody remembers a week after they see it. I'll watch it when it comes out on the illegal streaming websites.

Box office predictions?

I would say around a 35 million dollar opening weekend with things flatlining around 150 million altogether, worldwide. Doing just a hair better than "Ballerina," which was actually a good movie and had a decent amount of positive buzz behind it.

I think a lot will depend on how well Toy Story 5 is doing, which I have no idea if it'll be a huge success or not, I think I read it was tracking a billion which seems surprising to me. I doubt He-Man is going to be taking any eyes off of supergirl.

I don't think Supergirl will do as well as Superman last year but I don't think it'll be a bomb either, it'll likely do "just enough" to not be seen as a failure but neither a success. Unless of course Krypto goes viral. I'm honestly considering watching it in theaters, I think it looks good.

A lot of men also won't go to theaters to watch a female superhero led movie, at least not unless their wife or girlfriend asks them to go. Imagine being a 35-40 year old man holding up your movie ticket saying, "I'm here to see Supergirl."

Many men are worried about their masculinity and seeing a superhero movie "for girls" might make them feel a little too in touch with their feminine side. They also wouldn't admit to seeing the movie to other friends or co-workers. Supergirl just doesn't have the mainstream appeal of Superman or even Wonder Woman.

Yeah, WW was very different. That was stoic and heroism played earnestly and the trailers succeeded in making it look like an event, which it was in many ways.

Supergirl? She looks fifty shades of jaded and the movie appears to be about, "It's OK to be messy." Nobody is going to see this but the true die-hards.

I really don't understand why people keep saying straight characters are, "LGBT icons?" That doesn't make any sense, does it? Why would someone look at a straight woman and assume she's representing lesbians?

Supergirl is straight in the movie (as far as I know), so why do people say this? They say this about other strong female leads in other movies/shows too and I don't get it.
