That means it more or less divides a person's qualities into one thing or another. If done correctly, then it can give you good and evil or strong and weak. In this case, we have a combination of both which suggests an incomplete incantation.

*leafs thru the pages* The suggestion for which comes from the 2 halves themselves, Eni and G'am. Eni, the one here, is the personification of Enigma's fears, loves and weaknesses. She has little if any power and no access to her former memories. G'ma on the other hand, is a personification of her hatreds, strengths, and anger. She has access to Enigma's memories and most of her powers, both of which make her stronger than Eni.
