Official Info on the Nick TMNT Series

I agreed, for a thread titled "Official Info" we only have a half second clip and a very tiny scree cap/still shot in the last 10 pages or so of content. I'm gonna reserve judgement until I see an actual episode or more than a tiny still and half second clip.

I am more excited/looking forward to news on a toy line.

Well there's nothing to talk about really at this point so people are getting uneasy.

I suppose people should just migrate over to the comic section as the IDW series has things to discuss.

Are you referring to the contorversial Don having a crush on April? I'm not crazy over that and tying American Pie to TMNT. Ignoring those two things I am fine with what has been show and revealed.

See, this is going to be a prob with me. Knowing about the American Pie connection, I'll probably crack jokes while watching it and make band camp jokes.

If we did that, people would just post about the Nick cartoon in other sections. The way it is now, people who don't like speculation can easily avoid it by not visiting the Nick section until the show airs.

Also, to those of you who are unhappy with the content in this section, you're always welcome to start some new threads that would make for better discussion in your opinion. If you want things to change, you have the ability to make that happen, so there's no need to be negative.

I'm sorry, but how are they tying it to American Pie? Similar to what I said in the thread about the turtles crushing on April, I think adult fans sometimes have a way of reading into things in a way that finds filth where none actually exists. Granted; I don't know of anything else Jason Biggs has been in besides Saving Silverman (which I never saw, as everyone said it sucked), but just because every adult associates him with a notorious role doesn't mean any kids will. They won't even know who Biggs is. I also am quite certain that nobody at Nick said, "We absolutely must cast that guy who raped a pie as our Leonardo; bring him to us!". Biggs tried out for the part himself, and that he got it proves he's actually a versatile actor.

They will now. Since the last American Pie movie he was in, which was 9 years ago, the only semi-note worthy film he's appeared in was Jersey Girl. The rest is sitcom guest spots and random indie films no one saw.

His newest big budget theater film is American Reunion, a sequel to American Wedding. So yes people, kids included, will continue to associate him with that. With the exception of the American series Loser and Saving Silverman are the only other times he's been on the big screen and both films are over 10 years old.

That doesn't mean he will make a horrible Leo, or Leo will do lewd things because of who his voice actor is. However anyone who bothers to read the credits will know who he is and I foresee plenty of internet pokes at Leo following the reveal to the general public. I expect to see the famous scene recreated with Leo and his brothers at least once if not more times.

Using that same logic it may very well be possible that people will see Sean Astins name and instantly think of Raphael as a hobbit, or better yet if you have heard of any of the Sam/Frodo jokes that might lump Raphael into them now as well.

Probably but it's hard to compare being a hobbit in a respected multi-Oscar winning film to sticking your man parts into a pie and basically ruining your career.

He probably got fairly rich from it. If American Pie hadn't come along and pumped out 4 movies for him (#4 is on the way) then his career woulda probably been nothing. He even got the part in Jay & Silent Bob just because he humped the pie. Its not like he's Academy Award material regardless of the pie humping, American Pie was God's gift to his career.
